Please note this is for trucks with the Delphi Cav Pump. The Bosch pump requires a different part and is an easier job to install. Part numbers in the video description. Generally but not always the newer trucks, mid 90's have the Bosch pump. There are a few obvious differences. If you know what to look for you can tell by looking at the pump.

Hi Matthew. on fitting the diaphragm what keeps the adjusting pin tight after adjustment is made. I got a pump that the pin unwinds I thought about using loctite but can't find much out about the setting of the pump. JS

Sounds like may be worth investing some time on a special tool project. May be involving a modified 8mm ratchet spanner to get over the problem of limited space ? Any idea when they switch to Bosch pump?

Re Bosch pump. No. And to make it even more confusing I’ve got a truck with me now with a date of 1998 on it that has the cab pump. Though due to a few other things on it I suspect it was built early 90,s. The prop shafts also changed at some point, as did the steering wheel. There is a few tools I keep meaning to buy. Maybe crows foot spanner’s would help, or a open ended ratchet type spanner.

So how much of a ball ache to take the compressor cylinder head off first then? Looks like it would give you more of a stress free job even if making it a bit longer...

Its such a simple job it literally takes 1 minute if the pumps on a bench in front of you. I don't remember how much of a ball ache it would be to remove the compressor but i did consider it to remove the injection pump when i changed that.
