Remember Stamkos and Tavares and the CONSTANT "They want to come home" talk that circled them and their teams for YEARS? They've already been saying that since McDavid got drafted. If he leaves it like that it causes a media to take those words and throw them all over incessantly. Adding the "it's always good to leave" at the end covers his ass and keeps his quote from being used against him and the Oilers for the rest of his contract.

To elaborate on my original point, games like hockey, baseball, soccer, and basketball have so many games in a season that it’s impossible to win nearly all of them. You’re going to lose some, even when you’re really good and the other guys aren’t. If you play 80 games in a season, there’ll be something like 15 or 20 that you can’t win, regardless of what you do. There’ll be about the same number that you can’t lose regardless of what you do. It’s how you handle the remaining ones that determine whether you’re a great team or not, and your humbleness and grace both in victory and in loss that marks whether you deserve that greatness.

The team didn't look that bad, was no 6-1 pittsburgh. Couple of softish penalties in the 1st probably threw momentum off and it was clear that it was an emotional game, like with McDavid aggressively bumping into Nylander on the first goal. I think it was the most penalties we have taken in a game since Keefe took over. And as an Aussie, really great to hear you spreading the word to help with donations with the bushfires. We got the people and the organisations here to deliver what we need, just not enough resources thanks to stingy people in government. From what i have seen the vast amount of donations to charities are really really helping the most effected. Cheers McDangle!
