Your sweet face during that entire song was precious. Your whole demeanor told it all. You are someone who knows.. A guy who loves his family. My hubby and I were also 15 and 16 when we met. He was my first and only . The sweetest man I ever had the privilege of loving. We had almost 40 years together before he went home to heaven. He was 57 and I was 56. Gone too soon. Never thought I’d walk this earth without him. He was my rock. Three kids and 9 grandkids. Gorgeous song. Pretty much says it all ❤️

@denise Glenn I’m so sorry for your loss. Me and my husband was 17 when we met and we’ve been together 23 years. We do everything together we work in the same place we shop together and I just couldn’t imagine not having him. I almost died twice…I spent 2yrs off and on in the hospital and this man didn’t leave my side through it all. He went through a lot and after I came home I had to have 24hr care. It was rough on him but he never once complained. I would’ve never survived without him.

I’ve been married for 34 years now, our hair is grey, our kids are out on their own growing their families…. I always fell like getting up to kiss and dance with my wife listening to this song before all of that goes away… we cry our hearts out, but at the same time our hearts swell with love and a touch of pride… in the beginning all we had was us against the world, and now at the end of all this … it’s the same way, just us.

This song really is a weeper for sure. My man & I were married at 16 & 18, had our 61st anniversary in April. We're really starting to realize that time passes faster with each year that goes by. Now, it sure is flying! We've been very happy, & blessed with two great kids also. Have had many wonderful years, with a few inevitable heartbreaks along the way. I pray it will let us down gently at the end...lol.

I can only imagine this song makes me cry nearly every time I'm only 24 but I look back at even just the past five years and so much happened, and yet in the moment it feels like not much has happened like it flew on by. I can only hope to be with someone for even half that time not much luck though never had a relationship and I'm sure almost no one wants to be around someone who's awkward and nervous. This song just brings back memories and make me feel like I've lived longer than I have some people say life is short and while that may be true it feels pretty long to me. So much can happen in just a few years let alone decades+ I'm glad you've had many wonderful years a lot of people don't get that hope you have many more. I keep thinking about the day I'll lose my parents from time to time it's a natural part of life, but I know it will hit hard I feel it I fear it will hit harder than I expect though.
@solitarybee37143 жыл бұрын
@@Chrisimplayer I do remember how "in the moment" we live our lives when we are young, which is where you are now. I pray you will find that special someone at the exact right time in your life, so don't lose heart. Neither my husband nor I were popular kids, just happened to love the same things. You will also likely lose your parents, but maybe not for many years, and you will find the strength you need then. Live is full of fearful, wonderful, sad, happy stuff- live YOUR life & don't forget to count your blessings! God love you~

Good choice Van. Alan is a great story teller. Most all you saw was real family pictures and videos. The beautiful lady he was dancing with is his wife. Lots of the other videos and pics were their daughters. He almost lost it all too. Life on the road caused him to make some mistakes, but they got through it and are better than ever. You should check out his official music video of a song he did about 9/11 called Where were you when the world stopped turning? Another cool nostalgic video in from Jamey Johnson called In Color. Both worth a watch. Van don't ever apologize for connecting to a song. That's why they're telling you the story man! Hope you get that homestead one of these days.

I know when he passes, this will be a song I play at his funeral (hopefully mine of I go first). I remember crying when I turned 25 that I was old and too close to being 30 then I liked to be. Now I’m closer to 60 and I miss our little house we bought when we were just 23. I miss the time we thought we could till you our yard and plant sod till an elderly neighbor man laughingly came over to show us the right way. Trial and error. That’s life. The mistakes. Mismanagement of life and fixing them again. We still learn from mistakes and watch our kids make many of the same. It’s life. And I’d do it all again.
