I have a tech challenging question. Can i... Watch Videos (MP4, MKV, AVI etc) via USB and does it read the SRT files (Subtitles). I download a lot of foreign movies and it somes with a subtitles file, i usually use VLC player on my laptop and it worked on my previous TV, Not on my new tv.. Im looking for a dvd player with usb that has this. i really need subtitles to read. Please if you own this dvd player, can you test this and let me know, even show me a snapshot or video would be appreciated and i can buy asap. Regards

Only playing DVD, CD & BR is available. Even wired with 5G, watching KZbin or Netflix will make you realize turtle's walking speed.

Does anybody know how to permanently stop the information box popping up requesting to connect to the internet so it can be used just as a disk player? I don’t need internet on it and it hounds me multiple times during a movie and randomly pops back up over and over after pressing play.

After watching this review, it appears that you take issue not so much with Blu-Ray playback, but strongly with the media streaming function, navigation menu UI, and playback of video files. That's the problem with "smart devices" like blu-ray players and TVs that have this feature built-in. The software/UI is usually very basic, as mentioned at 3:37. You're better off using a dedicated device such as Roku or Chromecast for media streaming. Manufacturers for these devices offer better support for updates, etc I'm planning on getting either this or the Samsung BD-J5900 and I think this LG has a better physical design. I also plan on getting a Roku Streaming Stick. Have you considered getting a dedicated streaming device?

wish i had seen this review before purchasing. The netflix playback is extremely slow. My phone and laptop plays back so much faster. $70 for this thing was a waste of money. Looking for a replacement now.

The media streaming sucks!!! For 40 bucks bluray player awesome!! I got one at best buy and the clerk was telling me that the streaming isn't great..but for a bluray player you can't go work. And he gave 10 percent off...no tax ill take it.
