For newer software versions (including 6.8.2 and above) HDR calibration is now supported with select monitors, confirmed for higher end Ultrafine OLED Pro models with intregrated calibration sensor. Thank you for this video, that's exactly what I wanted to see with regards to this model. Blows my mind how people could just skip over such an important feature! Would have been nice to see the results of a more accurate calibration mode wich uses more test patches to know how accurate it could possibly get, though, since the gamma/grayscale seems to leave a bit more to be desired, imo, for a display at this price point.
@PCMonitors Жыл бұрын
The more thorough testing relates to the colour patch testing and colour space conversion rather than greyscale testing, so that wouldn't change the gamma behaviour. You could expect some calibration runs to yield superior results to what was shown in the video either way, though.

Hi,great channel!As someone who's eyes are VERY sensitive to AMOLED phone screens and also to PWM,I want to ask you how are these OLED monitors when it comes to eye strain in comparison to PWM free LCDs. As far as I know this model has no PWM,but it does still flicker and I'm not talking about VRR related flickering.Thank you.
@PCMonitors Жыл бұрын
Viewing comfort is a very individual thing and there are many factors to consider - pcmonitors.info/articles/factors-influencing-pc-monitor-viewing-comfort/. I find OLED monitors perfectly comfortable - they don't use PWM (unlike most phones), but are not entirely flicker-free either. From one of our 240Hz WOLED reviews: "As is common for OLED screens, the screen uses low amplitude oscillation - so there’s a slight cyclical dip in brightness in sync with the refresh rate, for example every 4.17ms at 240Hz. This was recordable via oscilloscope and can be observed by a camera with certain settings, but is very different to the more pronounced brightness changes accompanying PWM. As such, it shouldn’t be bothersome to most users and the monitor can be considered ‘flicker-free’ as advertised. Sensitive users could potentially find this bothersome, particularly at lower refresh rates. We’ve communicated with some individuals who are particularly sensitive to PWM flickering but find OLED screens with similar brightness regulation comfortable to view, so sensitivity to PWM doesn’t necessarily mean this will be problematic."

@ragtop633 ай бұрын
For anyone with a LG 27GP950 or 27GN950 (or 850, I think), the solution to this issue is that LG Calibration Studio stores the first calibration in Calibration 1. When you do another calibration, it moves Calibration 1 to Calibration 2 and stores the new calibration in Calibration 1. It will repeat that behavior for every new calibration. There's no information anywhere in the process that tells you it's doing this. I had to do some deep searching to find out what was going on. Hope this helps someone.

@PCMonitors Жыл бұрын
There is a difference, but the main benefits you'll notice come from responsiveness and contrast in this case.The 27GR95QE has better colour consistency, due to its OLED panel, but the IPS-type panel of the PG329Q is still strong in that respect. So a difference, but not a huge one. The PG329Q has a wider gamut (greater Adobe RGB coverage) so has more greater vibrancy potential particularly for green-biased and cyan shades and is more suitable for work within the Adobe RGB colour space. P.S. Try to avoid using the term '2K' to describe the 1440p/QHD resolution as it's misleading - forum.pcmonitors.info/topic/sacrificing-refresh-rate-for-resolution/#post-53418.
