LG CordZero A9 Kompressor Ultra (+Power-drive Mop) - Detailed User Review

In this video we will look at the LG CordZero Kompressor stick vacuum. The CordZero range was launched in Australia in 2019 and competes with the likes of the Samsung Jet 90, Tineco S12 and Dyson V11 (and now V15)

Summary of Pros and Cons Below:
Pros:
1. Quiet (70 Decibels on normal mode)
2. Competent on Hard Floors with the soft floor nozzle
3. Solid build quality of the main unit and especially attachments
4. Unique Powerdrive Mop feature
Cons:
1. Limited usability on carpets (including cars) due to no smaller motor brush head with hard bristles. The multi surface nozzle does not deep clean carpets too well, as there does not seem to be enough suction to latch on.
2. The bedding power punch nozzle is pretty average (does not help in cleaning cars)
3. After sales support does not scale up with the premium price tag, falls short of the bigger brands

I have an earlier model of this Kompressor vacuum. I love it as a vacuum but very rarely use the mop attachment. It might be okay for very small areas (i.e. coffee table demonstrated) but not for floorboards - very time consuming and not nearly as effective or fast as a normal mop. I also find it scrapes leaving scratches depending on the angle used. If you don't want to go to the trouble and time of moistening cleaning pads, filling tank up with water - draining and drying attachments afterwards - then just get a damp cloth and wipe over your coffee table - maybe takes 10 seconds .... :)

I also think the very sturdy charging stand is a big plus point. It’s self-standing and doesn’t require wall mounting, so you’ll have the flexibility to move your charging point around.

Yes that is absolutely true, and I missed mentioning the stand in my review as I had it wall mounted. With kids I find wall mounting works best, otherwise the stand becomes another thing my kid can knock over. Thanks for watching the review!

A note on any Australian warranty claim. Any product sold in Australia is protected by Australian consumer law which says labour is part of the warranty. Even if a manufacturer says there are charges the law also says manufacturers can’t make clams that contradict the law. So LG are very brave in giving a 10 year warranty in Australia and they warranty card that says you must pay the labour is not right. Labour is part of a warranty claim in Australia.

A really excellent review. I was amazed at how the mop cleaned up the tomato sauce without streaking the sauce over the rest of the floor. I'm tossing up between this model and the Samsung Jet 90 which is a little lower in price, but seeing how effective the mop is on the LG I'm leaning towards the A9. Also, getting two batteries with the LG is a big plus. Thanks for all the helpful information.

I watched a LOT of reviews on this vacuum, and this is by far the best! Very well thought through, and informative. I love the idea of this vacuum, but the price is a bit of a shocker for me. But it looks the best made and versatile in its class. I have a small apartment with carpet and tile. Big thumbs up and subscribe for your excellent review.

Great review especially the mop as this is often skimmed over in reviews. Considering the v15 slim and the lg ultimate are similar priced, would your say the mop is worth it if your place is entirely floorboard? Often after vacuuming there are stains and water spots all over. A laser won't help with that! Would you say the mop attachment can pickup light dust while also removing water stains etc?

Hello, hello! Glad you liked the review. Between the LG and the Dyson v11, I would pick the LG. Better quality, lighter and slightly cheaper. The v15 however (review coming up) is a whole different thing due to its laser head, which works amazingly well. If you are after something lighter than the full-size Dyson models, also consider the v12 slim that launched with the v15 in Australia. It’s $200 cheaper than the v15 and much lighter, and also has the laser head - but it’s practicality will depend on the size of house/apartment you are looking to vacuum :-) Happy hunting !

Very informative review, thank you. I have a corded upright Dyson which has done a great job but now I find it very heavy I have arthritis in my hands which is very painful. I’m looking for a lighter stick model with good suction. I also have a V 6 animal stick vacuum which doesn’t have a lot of suction now. I’d like to get something that replaces both of my Dysons to use daily if needed. I have a dog that sheds hair.

Thank you for watching and I'm glad you found the video useful. The LG will suit you if you are looking to reduce strain on your hands, as its much lighter than the V11 or V15 Dysons. Also consider the Dyson V12 slim if you are in Australia. This model is nearly half the weight of the other Dyson flagships, has an on/off button and is also cheaper. The other one to consider will be the Miele HX1. This vacuum cleaner allows you to switch the canister to a lower position. The only thing to be aware of with the HX1 is that the bin isn't that easy to empty. Happy hunting and I hope that adds a couple more options to your list.

when I put the mop head on.. my vacuum will turn into loud sound and then turn off itself in less than a min.... do you know what's wrong with that? It has no problem if with dust nozzle

do you put the vacuum back on the (ON) charging dock every time after using? is it okay to leave both batteries (in the vacuum and spare batt) charging all the time?

Yes it's a smart charger so you can leave it on the charger all the time without any impact on battery longevity Hope that helps and thanks for watching !

Hi Laura. I didn't have any issues with scratches. I do however only ever use the soft roller head on timber floors. I.e. not the multi surface. All the best !

Thanks Nikhil, unless you are after the sophisticated features of the dyson V15 I.e. laser head etc. I would definitely recommend the LG. I found the mop head to be very effective at cleaning light stains and debris from floors. The multi-purpose head will do well on midpile carpets, though I found for carpets the Dysons typically do a slightly better job, but that doesn't mean the LG is a slouch either. Hi there - thanks for your review. I bought this 2 weeks ago, but just watched your review to understand a bit more how things work. I'm loving it so far - it's my first stick vacuum and it's SOOO much easier than my standard vacuum. I'm finding that it's working really well on our carpets and they are noticeably cleaner than with the old cleaner. I was very excited about the power mop and pleasantly surprised with how it's doing. I was concerned when I read the instructions to find out that it's water only and that you don't use any liquid cleaner when mopping, however water cleans things just fine! A great vacuum and mop which is making cleaning our floors a dream! I'm just wondering if I should get some extra attachments - I certainly didn't have what you showed. Are there any that you would say are must haves? I have multi-purpose nozzle, Power drive mini-nozzle, power mop, combination tool and crevice tool. Thanks again for your review.

Hi, really good review, thanks for posting it. I have just bought this vacuum and the water doesn't seem to come out of the tank. Is it supposed to come out really slowly or do you think there is a problem with the device?

It comes out slowly, so you may have to wet the mop pads manually to get it going. But after that they should keep themselves wet. Glad you enjoyed the review!

Hello Maria This model is: www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-cordzero-a9-kompressor-ultra-handstick-vacuum-full-black.html The difference between the purple Kompressor and this one is additional accessories (this one has bedding power punch, slim power nozzle, power drive mini, flexible extension hose, multi angle tool and flexible crevice tool) The purple one comes with 2 different attachments instead of the ones above. However the basic motor and unit is the same, just different attachments.

@@mariasandoval5326 ​ No worries! Yes you are right A929KVM is the closest one to this. But the difference is a few accessories which you may be able to get separately. The bedding power punch was not super useful in my opinion (so that only leaves the power drive mini, the flexible crevice tool and the multi-angle brush). None of those are "must have" accessories.
