Thank you for the helpful video. I'm just adding my story to the complaints regarding LG. My house, purchased 11/2019 came with an LG model LFXS30766* 29.6 Cu. Ft. fridge. It was about 6 years old at the time. Yesterday (12/18/21) I awakened to water on the floor, melting frozen food and a refrigerator compartment @ 50F degrees and warming fast. I talked to a trusted tech who helped me diagnose a dead compressor, and he explained the repair would be $1000, and he suggested it would be better to buy a new fridge. I guess LG considers 8 years to be a sufficient lifespan for a $3000+ appliance. Meanwhile, the basic Fridgidaire in my basement (which rescued my food!), has got to be at least 20+ years old and still going strong. I'm staying away from anything LG, with its "linear compressor." I purchased a GE fridge with similar features, which will arrive next week.

On mine I heard it running but could not tell the difference of a good or bad compressor. There were no reset clicks. It lost cold slowly over a few days before I knew that there was a problem. It wasn't an overloaded freezer. I paid the $250 for the flat fee service call. It was the compressor. The LG service tech replaced the compressor with a "generic" that he carried on his truck. Not the model that was coming out of the fridge. The generic one is used on many other LG models and is reported to be very reliable. In my books, this should have been covered by the Compessor warantee but I would have had to paid the installation anyway. So I let it go at that. That was my experience anyway. Thanks for the video and comments, they were helpful.

Anyone who buys an LG Korean refrigerator is buying trouble within a few years. No matter if you spend $1000, $2000, $3000, $5000 or more you are very likely to own a refrigerator that stop working after only 2 to 7 years, There have been settled class actions suits on this and more are on the way. Another thing is that repairs to the LG Linear compressor usually also involve failure of the sealed system, the coils and other parts. A typical repair requires one to two repair people working for up to 12 hours each, plus replacement of the compressor and related parts. Depending on the model and where you live, repair service on an lG will take weeks and cost $2,000 to $4,000. The only sensible solution is to trash your old refrigerator, buy a new Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Bosch or other brand and take LG to court (if small claims court you can do it yourself and don't need a lawyer in most jurisdictions) to recover some or all of your costs. Another factor is that most repair companies will no longer work on LG and, usually, Samsung equipment. In many cities, the LG Service Center that LG will refer you to will not work on LG anymore and also will not honor LG warranty work. Have a heart to heart talk with almost any appliance service center or with a salesperson selling kitchen appliances, and you will likely be told to avoid LG refrigerators. LG has the best designs and best features, but unfortunately they have the worst engineers.

Our LG French Door Refrigerator was delivered to our house on Aug. 17, 2019. I have NOT been pleased with the unit! Our previous fridge was a GE Profile which we had for 23 years and did NOT have ANY of these issues! I regret purchasing this LG!! Since it is barely two months old, it is already NOT cooling adequately. Mildew and condensation form on foods, fresh veggies do not "keep" as they did in our 23-year-old GE! Add to that the water dispenser distributes "cool" water! Yes, there is ice, but the ice has an unpalatable aftertaste. (The tech replaced the filter, but it did not change the taste.) The spacing is not good if you have large items like a gallon of milk or OJ, etc. BTW- the "manual" which comes with the LG is about useless. :/ - However, thank you for sharing the video about identifying the compressor issues.
@Your-Self5 жыл бұрын
Sadly, none of the refrigerators today are as good as they were 23 years ago. Even if you would've bought another GE replacement, it's not the same company as it used to be. The appliance part of GE belongs to the Chinese company Haier, so the quality of new refrigerators is questionable. Luckily, your fridge is still under warranty!

@@Your-Self Thank you for your reply. It's pretty sad. I also read elsewhere that some folks in a CA lawsuit all lost their LG compressors within the first three years. @Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about it. At least you got 8 years out of your fridge, which is more than 3-5 years a typical LG Linear refrigerator lasts.
@albertbrooklyn5 жыл бұрын
Addendum update: We have two LG failures in 5 years, the linear compressor is not reliable, it has a known issue/defect. LG now offers a 10 year warranty on the compressor but that does not cover labor which is the major cost for repair.....the compressor is not all that costly but it's the labor charges. So instead of redesigning their compressor they give you the proverbial "ice in the winter" with the 10 year warranty. One other issues LG parts do not have a unique part identifier for the newer and older units, that is, they use the same part numbers over and over again so technicians are reluctant to work on them and on top of that they do not get paid by LG in a timely fashion so you wind up with a "Jack of all trades" coming out and they typically use a shotgun approach to diagnosis and repair. This time we went with a whirlpool refrigerator, in fact, we already had a whirlpool in the garage for over 5 years and even with all the Texas heat it has been working flawlessly............though, the main problem with all appliances is planned obsolescence and then the box stores sell you that worthless extended warranty which is insult to injury. This, in essence, is legalized theft. One last thing, GE had a good reputation but the Chinese company Haier bought them out and the quality has suffered. In fact, they give the GE employees steep discounts on their appliances and they won't even buy them. Good luck, I know our recent failure(s) knocked us for a loop. I am going to post this again above for others searching for a refrigerator since I know how trying this process can be.

Our LG refrigerator failed so we finally found out that these units are junk after no repair person would work on them, so we were told there was this class action lawsuit and we needed to contact LG. LG customer service was a joke as they used a specific deterrence tactic to prevent LG from having to replace there poorly make refrigerators. They say their policy is that they will replace the unit after 3 documented work orders to fix it, so when you contact them after the third repair fails they just say they have not documentation of a third work order and continuously have to keep submitting work orders to have a repair person do the same repair that does not work! In the mean time, initially my family and I got very sick due to the high temps the refrigerator, we had to throw out all our food three times after the three repairs failed and now were have no refrigerator through the holidays!!!! This process has now exceeded two months and is not resolved! We will look into a lawsuit in our area as well.

I am really wondering what was wrong with your refrigerator that even after repair it did not work? Capillary tube got clogged and they just kept changing your compressors?
@danlombardi17974 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this... Our LG with the French Door and this "linear technology" now has lost it's 2nd compressor. About two years after buying this LG fridge, the first compressor died and we lost a lot of food. It took Asurion (the 3rd party warranty company) over two months to repair this. Keep in mind I have food sensitivities and we cook 99% of what we eat at home, so we NEED a large fridge. We literally borrowed a neighbor's garage fridge just to get by in those two months. Now, at year 5 (3 years after the 2nd compressor), this LG compressor is doing the same thing, food is starting to go bad and we noticed the temps are warmer. The compressor doesn't sound healthy, as your video shows. We are going to attempt to replace the fridge and stay away from LG this time. And coincidentally, our neighbors' LG fridge is doing the same exact thing this week. I am almost wondering if a power loss (which we did have last week) hurts the compressor somehow.
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, it's common for the replacement compressor to fail as well because they used the same bad compressor as a replacement. However, around 2019 LG came up with an upgraded model of Linear compressor which should last longer according to them. The power loss in your neighborhood should not affect the compressor but may damage an electronic board (PCB) that controls the compressor and all other functions. Try to unplug your fridge for a minute, and plug it back in. Sometimes, but not often, that helps. It's also a good idea to keep all your electronic devices plugged into a surge protector in the future.

@What's Next? I'm assuming your freezer is set to 0°F and fridge to 37°F, right? It's a good idea to put a refrigerator thermometer inside both compartments, so you can compare the "real" temperature with the "set" temperature. Sometimes the refrigerator is not capable of cooling properly if it's squeezed in the corner without any gaps for air-movement behind it and on its' sides. Also, if the condenser coils are full of dust and pet hair, try cleaning them with a brush and a vacuum. If this doesn't help, you may need to call a tech to investigate further.

If you got LG service, you're lucky. Many so-called LG Service Centers no longer service LG products, or service them only if they sell them initially. Most independent appliance repair centers won't work on LG anymore. Under the 2019 class action suit, LG Linear compressors are warranted for 10 years but only for parts. The labor, alone which typically takes one full day by two technicians, starts at around $1,800 in many areas, if you can find a repair service and if they can get parts.
@mikedx27062 жыл бұрын
LG Customer Service is a complete joke. They don't really want to help you once they realize that the problem is a bad compressor. You will be shuttled several times between robot answering machines and humans who can barely speak or understand the English language in your efforts to actually schedule a repair appointment. You will be repeatedly asked the same questions (by both robots and humans) about your refrigerator's model number is, it's serial number, when it was made; when you bought it; your name, address and telephone number. This happens during the same telephone call as they shuffle you around. Then you are told by LG that they are so booked up with repairs that it will be at least a week before someone can even come out to diagnose your LG refrigerator (not actually fix it.) The human on the line at LG will then hang up on you so you can't give answers to the telephone customer service survey that is supposed to come at the end of your now hour long telephone call to the LG Customer Service number. Never purchase an LG product!!!

Hard to tell but the compressor sounds good. A very small amount of ice on the top and bottom of the freezer evaporator. I'm thinking the compressor is going out. I didn't take a temp reading at the coils but they felt cool, not as warm as I thought. The compressor is warm to hot to the touch. Bad compressor? Maybe I could pierce the line and add a little refrigerant?
@Your-Self Жыл бұрын
It sounds like the compressor is going bad, there is a leak in the system or restriction. Try adding very little refrigerant (they don't take much to overfill). If the temperature improves, there is a leak. If not, there is a restriction or a bad compressor. It's best to check the pressure with a gauge first... if you have it. When the compressor is running, the pressure on the LOW side should be around 0 PSI or slightly negative. With the compressor OFF, the pressure should equalize to around 60 PSI.

Sounds like the compressor is covered under warranty, but want to know if LG will charge for each service call to assess the problem in addition to the labor costs to replace the compressor. Each area has different fees for the service. But in general, you could expect about $100 for a visit and/or about $500 for the labor. Knowing approximate charges, you can decide if it's worth repairing. If you have an additional Extended Warranty, prices may vary.

My freezer and refrigerator stopped working but fix it. It sounded as if it was working but not cooling. Disconnect your refrigerator. Open the drawer, pull the tray, get your hair dryer, get a flashlight - you will see some ice build up on that area against the wall, aim your hair dryer to the orifice, set up a timer for 5 minutes. Hold hair dryer with the food boxes you have there or hold by hand. After 5 minutes change the aiming slightly...set the timer for 3 minutes, let the hair dryer rest, do another 3 minutes, turn it off and let the refrigerator disconnected for 30 minutes leaving the drawer open. Close the drawer and everything back to normal, turn on the electricity again and it will be start workin again. (Under the drawer there will be pieces of ice and melted water, dry it out.) That hair dryer did wonders, it worked for me, I hope it helps you!

If the evaporator frosts up as you describe, defrosting sure helps. But it's probably a temporary solution, it'll frost up again. The bigger problem with LG Linear compressor refrigerators is that they stop cooling completely, so no frost at all.

I have a Kenmore Elite french door with bottom freezer, it is 6 years old. The linear compressor is warm to the touch and purrs quietly. The condensor motor and fan operate smoothly. I can feel ambient air blowing thru the freezer and fridge areas.The ice maker stopped working at the same time as the fridge & freezer stopped cooling. When I checked the evaporator area there was no sign of freeze up and no water on the floor but there was water in the freezer basket so maybe the evap. was frozen and melted before I got to it. I don't know what part to replace? Thanks

This definitely sounds like a Sealed System problem. It could be a leak, restriction, or a bad compressor most likely. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do yourself. If you don't have an extended warranty from Sears, you'll have to decide if it's worth spending up to $1000 to fix this fridge.
@ZackHeinkel20003 жыл бұрын
This sound comparison is only valid when the piston is damaged, but the majority of LC compressors failure is the valve, and the sound doesn't change, the only way is to check the pressures and it'll show a high low side pressure. Former Sears Refrigerator tech, former LG Electronics field tech here. LG (LC) compressors are the WORST, I was replacing an average of at least 5 compressors a week. The best in everything else, but LG (LC) compressors are the worst due to the design of the valve. It goes attached to the end of the piston, it is like a check valve that it closes when pushes the piston to the high side and it opens when it goes back. It is extremely thin, so when the compressor works too hot, it tends to stay a little bit opened, that will equalize the system so it won't cool. Inexperienced techs think there is a restriction in the sealed system, they start replacing coils and capillary tubes, but is not the problem. I'm sure because I've done my own compressor autopsy (tired of LG tech support and managers denying the issue with compressors) and I found that. When you have an LG not cooling is that simple, compressor, or a very few cases, a leak on the evaporator of refrigerator section, mostly the top line close to the cap tube, extremely low leak sometimes hard to find even with dye, sometimes it only can be seen pressurizing the system with nitrogen and spreading with big blue leak detector. A tech still working with them told me they have a new compressor design that substitutes the LCs but I don't know the results. I left LG and the appliances business 3 years ago.

Hello, it would be helpful if you can explain more about the overload click... What is opening or closing in the circuit when it clicks? Thanks!
@Your-Self2 жыл бұрын
An overload click typically happens with non-linear compressors. They are the most popular "old skool" compressors that use a Start Relay. So when a compressor fails to start due to a bad relay or the compressor itself, the overload will (click) turn the power off for some time. After cooling down will supply the power again.

@Your-Self3 жыл бұрын
So the compressor is hot, but is it running/vibrating, or just clicks every few seconds? Check the freezer evaporator coils first. If they are full of ice and frost, you may have a Defrost Problem. If there is no frost at all, you may have a refrigerant gas leak. If there is a little frost, the condenser coils next to the compressor may be too hot. And in this case, a small fan may help to cool it down.

My LG refrigerator was constantly clicking and not cooling. I read that a common cause was the start relay and overload protector that are attached to the compressor, so I opened up the lower back panel where the compressor was and saw the two parts, ordered replacements for $60 on Amazon and changed them out (was just a matter of unplugging them and plugging in new ones). No more clicking and it's cooling great so consider that if you have a similar problem. Be sure to actually look at the parts before you order them to make sure you're getting what you need. Also many parts websites have videos showing to how change out these type of parts. There are some videos online showing how to test the electrical connections to determine if parts are bad or if your compressor is frozen and needs to be replaced so check those out as well. And while you have the back open, check the cooling coil in there for dirt and pet hair and clean that out good with a brush. Fortunately mine was perfectly clean since I have no pets.

Do you have a video to get the white cover back on? My compressor is humming and I can feel a little smooth vibration, does that mean it’s running? Or is the vibration coming from the fan? On goes to the screw of the white cover and one is for the green wire what goes on a screw. I don’t know which hole. I noticed one hole has some markings engraved in the metal of the compressor. Is that where the green wire with the screw goes? . ( women who tries to fix stuff through KZbin since hubby is overseas, sorry ) also I can’t get the white cover back on, any tips on that. I’m frustrated with this LG and did not know 2013 when it came out and we purchased that it will have issues in 7 years down the road. I love Lg but will never purchase another one. Thanks for any help I can get
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
If it says "Linear" on the compressor, there is NO start relay, just a connector that goes on the compressor, and a round Overload Switch that sits inside the white box. One end of the green wire goes on the bottom frame (as can be seen in this video). The other end of the green wire needs to be screwed to the compressor right next to, or the same screw that holds the white box (as can be seen in this video). The white box is just a cover, and if you cant put it back on, just let it hang there. As long as all wires are connected you should be ok. If you have a purchasing receipt, your fridge should be under a 10-year compressor warranty. Call LG and they should replace it, but you'll have to pay for the installation labor.
@tg79524 жыл бұрын
YourSelf first of thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Yes, it’s the round overload switch that sits inside the white box. There are two holes right next to each other on the compressor. One for the white box screw and one for the green wire. I just don’t remember which one goes into which hole. Does it matter? I bought the extended warranty when I bought the fridge at Appliances Factory and tossed everything in the trash after 5 -6 years when everything was out of warranty, not knowing of the 10 year warranty for the linear compressor. 😱 that’s my OCD 😢. Is the good compressor noise noticeable or louder than normal, I don’t think mine sounds that loud like the good compressor in your video, that’s why I wonder how do I know it’s running? Beside putting my hand on the compressor and hearing a smooth humming sound.
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
The green wire can go in any hole on the compressor, but you won't be able to secure the white box if the wire goes in the "wrong" hole. The linear compressor typically runs quietly, but as history has shown, that's how they fail... running, but not cooling. And sometimes it's difficult to figure out the problem without piercing the Sealed System to install gauges. You could try to run the Test as on this video... kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWHcZ2SJpsSBi5I If the compressor and all fans run, but the air blowing inside your fridge is warm, it's probably a bad compressor.
@tg79524 жыл бұрын
YourSelf I pushed the rest button on the board and did all test. Air is coming out cool in freezer and fridge. I have the green light blinking 6x, so I was going to start with the cheapest replacement. Grossing my fingers that will fix it. How big are the chances it’s the pcb board?
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
Typically 6 blinks indicate a bad compressor. Before throwing money at a new PCB, I'd invite a technician to check the pressure inside the Sealed System. It may cost you about $100, but you'll know for sure if it's worth messing with this refrigerator. However, since the air inside your fridge was cool during the Test, I'd give it a day, and maybe everything will go back to normal after the Reset.

Hi, just ran across your informative video as I have a cooling issue with my fairly new LG. Its not cooling (temp around 50F), but the freezer is working fine. Food in freezer are frozen solid. Had a tech came out and wanted $800 to fix it. Indicated that the evaporator fan is weak. I opted out of the repair and order the fan and replace it myself. I check to make sure the fan is running before closing the unit up. While I have the assembly opened, I also noted the evaporator is running with frosting/cold (so I assumed it's functioning). After several days past, frig still around 50F. So now I think the tech had mis-diagnosed the issue. Now I am back to square one. Any help/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
@Your-Self Жыл бұрын
A correct diagnosis is the most important step. What is the actual freezer temperature? If it's around 20°F, the food will be frozen, but it should be around 0°F in a healthy system. What is your refrigerator model number? It may have 2 evaporators (one in each compartment) or a dumper door in between them that's not opening correctly.
@Flooddcpets Жыл бұрын
@@Your-Self Thanks for the reply. I haven't check the freezer temp yet. I'll put a thermometer in it to see. The model is LFXC24786D. Yes, believed it has 2 evaporators. @Your-Self Жыл бұрын
That model number doesn't seem to be valid. But the freezer temperature is good! The resistance of temperature sensors changes with the temperature change. So if you place that sensor in a glass of icy water, the resistance should be around 30k (30,000 ohms). However, those sensors hardly ever go bad. If your model truly has a second evaporator, the Defrost Sensor (attached to the fridge side evaporator) can go bad.
@Flooddcpets Жыл бұрын

The resistance of temperature sensors changes with the temperature fluctuations. LG uses 2 different sensors for the freezer and the fridge compartments. The freezer sensor should be about 20k ohms at about 0°F (-17°C) The fridge sensor should be about 30k ohms at about 32°F (0°C) The readings that you got from your sensors probably indicate your current room temperature.

If the unit is working at the time of a service call, the tech will not be able to figure out what's wrong with it. Watching this video, I doubt it because it is making the same sound which good compressor makes in this video, any thoughts or help would be highly appreciated and thank you?
@Your-Self3 жыл бұрын
When the compressor sounds bad, that means it's bad. But if it sounds OK, the compressor could still be bad, or there could be some other Sealed System problem. Like refrigerant leak or copper tubes clogged up... any of these problems are expensive to fix. Press the Test button on the mainboard, and if you feel the air movement inside the freezer and the fridge compartments, but it's warm, this indicates the unfortunate Sealed System problem. If the air is slightly cool, it could be a Defrost Problem. In this case, I'd take everything out of the freezer, including the back wall, to look at the Evaporator Coils. If they are covered in a thick layer of frost and ice, that's a Defrost Issue.
@pratheocean3 жыл бұрын
@@Your-Self I did the test button (again thank you for that video too) and air was very slightly cool, this is been a week now and the unit was off most of times. I would not see any ice in the Evaporator Coil now, is there any component that I can check in the Defrost unit, I have a Multimeter?
@Your-Self3 жыл бұрын
Well, if it was a Defrost problem, the refrigerator should start working well after being OFF for a week, until the over-frosting becomes an issue again. So it sounds like you have a Sealed System problem. And now need to make a decision if it's worth the repair. While LG offers a 5-year free compressor replacement, Kenmore models are covered by Sears, but their warranty isn't that great. Call Sears to see what they cover. They may give you a free compressor, but you'll have to pay for the installation labor about ~$400.

@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
If your fridge is 15 years old, it probably has a regular compressor, which is more reliable than LG Linear as on this video. Hopefully, the compressor is good since the freezer compartment is still cold. So most likely, the freezer fan stopped working, or defrost system malfunctioned and the evaporator coils got covered in a thick layer of ice and snow, which prevents the proper cooling.

Hello. I have an LG French Door frig and the frig side is cool but the freezer side is only reaching 42 degrees. I had dust blocking the intake screen at the bottom and I have cleaned that and the coils. I was wondering if you think this is the issue or is there maybe something else?
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
Sometimes cleaning the condenser coils helps to improve the temperature in your refrigerator, unless the compressor was running dirty for a long time, and possibly got partially damaged. Also, depending on your model, you may have a dual evaporator, so the problem may be with a 3-way valve. When you say the frig side is cool, is it about 37°F?
@michelpardon26274 жыл бұрын
YourSelf I would have to check the temp today but yes about that cold.

YourSelf the model is a LSXS26326S/01
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
I think your model is a single evaporator unit, which means the temperature inside the fridge compartment can not be lower than the freezer. If cleaning the condenser coils don't help, you may need to remove everything from the freezer to look at the evaporator coils. If there is a lot of ice and frost build-up, you may have a defrost issue. If you have just a little frost pattern on the top of the coils, it's probably a leak, or the compressor is going bad.

Have had the technician out 5 times to tell me it was a leak or they had the wrong part the first time, etc. Is this a common problem anyone is having? Time to just get a new fridge?
@Your-Self5 жыл бұрын
LG compressors are different from others so not every technician can install them correctly. Also, a brand new compressor could be defective right out of the box. If you are the original owner and have the receipt, LG must fix it or give most of your money back for this fridge. Usually, the first visit is just to verify the problem. And if the problem is, in fact, with the compressor, they may still not have it on the truck with them. I'm not familiar with that model but it looks like the cold air is generated in the top freezer and should be distributed by Evaporator Fan to the refrigerator compartment. Maybe the fan is blocked by food, or the Damper Door is not open for the cold air to move down to the fridge.

Having the same issue: compressor hums, but hardly is warm, no cooling in both sections. No error codes, no error lights on the PCB. So... I would ask another question: does anyone replaced this f@#$ing piece of junk called FC75LBNA for another compressor (which one?) and had any long term success with it?
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
LG recently came up with an updated version of the Linear compressor called Universal FLS075LANA for most refrigerators. But you'll need a special LG Jig to update the software on the PCB. It's been around for about a year, so no long term success stories just yet. How old is your fridge? It could be covered under LG 5 years (free), and 10 years about $400 labor cost replacement warranty.

@@Your-Self Mine is 8 years old. Yes, I am aware of FLS compressor, but according to www.appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=22942.0 PCB can be upgraded only on boards manufactured after 2014. So, I am up for PCB upgrade too.
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you'll need a new PCB and a software Jig with an updated version, which could be difficult to find. At this point, you are probably better off paying for a labor cost if LG tech will replace the compressor and the PCB. Or buy a new refrigerator.

I have a new compressor installed from LG. Still not cooling. What else could be wrong?
@Your-Self10 ай бұрын
Typically, new LG compressors require a software update on the main control board to run properly. But it still should be somewhat cooling without the update. That leaves a bad compressor installation or a wrong compressor. Who did the installation? Possibly the thin tube (capillary tube) got brazed shut.
@msanne2310 ай бұрын

The technician may need to evacuate the refrigerant and blow some nitrogen gas through the system to verify that there is no blockage. After that, vacuum the system and dial the exact amount of refrigerant from your label. These newer refrigerators are very sensitive to over or under-charge. Also, if your refrigerator has 2 evaporators, the 3-way valve needs to be in a "home" position before he starts evacuating the system.

I am talking about a frigidaire fridge[I guess in this case: they all the same]. please! hope to hear you.
@Your-Self5 жыл бұрын
If the door was opened for a while, the evaporator coil (in the freezer) picked-up a lot of moisture from the air and got covered with too much frost. Try manually defrosting your refrigerator by unplugging it from the wall for about a day, and all the frost should melt. Leave both fridge doors open and be prepared for a lot of water dripping down.
@omarp.70595 жыл бұрын
it does not answer my question at all, you not even understood the question. what it is: my freezer does not freeze or cool at all, there's nothing to defrost. it just doesn't gets cold at all [on the top or bottom]. it maybe some to do with the relay box of the compressor. you should have a p.o box so your viewer send donations to you if you give them the right answer and they, we can fix our appliance.
@Your-Self5 жыл бұрын
LOL, you are giving me very limited information, and it's almost impossible to troubleshoot the problem correctly this way. You said that the "fridge run smoothly" which means to me that the compressor is running and that means that the start-relay is good. The other thing you said "the freezer door was open for hours" which typically means too much moisture which turns into frost on the evaporator which acts as a blanket insulator and prevents the refrigerator from cooling ( it sounds counterintuitive, but that's how refrigeration cycle works). If you want to make sure that this is the case, remove the back panel from the inside of the freezer and look at the evaporator coil. If it's full of icy-frost, defrost it. If there is no frost at all, I'll need more information from you.

My LG has a constant sound, more similar to the bad sound in your video. It currently maintains about 45 degree temp in the fridge and a 30 degree temp in the freezer. We tried letting it defrost overnight and it still won’t function normally. It has been over 2 weeks like this, not completely dead but not cooling or freezing properly. Based on your video, it’s not worth fixing? I’d rather get a new fridge then spend 1000 for a fix that may just break again.

YourSelf so based on the issue I described. It’s pretty much toast? I’m getting a Whirlpool and hoping for it to last.
@Your-Self4 жыл бұрын
If it's not a defrost issue, then it's probably the bad compressor. But I'd double-check the defrost problem. If there was a solid piece of ice on the freezer evaporator coils, the overnight defrosting may not be enough time. Try to remove everything from the freezer, including the back wall, to look at the coils. If there is no ice, it's a toast. @Your-Self5 жыл бұрын
When Linear compressors fail, they create a lot of debris inside the sealed system. You have to replace the filter/drier and vacuum the system to make sure nothing left to create a restriction. If you installed the new Universal compressor FLS075LANA it requires a software update on the motherboard, otherwise, it will fail early or won't start at all. Also, Linear compressors must be charged by correct weight, not by observing the low side pressure. That being said, I'm not surprised it failed so soon, it could be bad right out of the box. If it's under warranty, request another one. PS. is the compressor running, but not pumping, or not running at all?
@keithchrysler37323 жыл бұрын
I have the exact same model lg refrigerator. The compressor is running properly according to your video. It has a full charge of freon and I ran the diagnostic test button and everything is fine according to the test! Why won't it cool?
@Your-Self3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the compressor sounds OK but still is not good. It's called an "inefficient compressor." How do you know it's full of Freon? I assume you charged or checked the LOW side of the system. What is the PSI pressure when the compressor runs and PSI when you unplug the fridge for about 5 minutes? Let's say the pressure is about 50 PSI unplugged. And when you plug it back in, the pressure drops to about 30 PSI... which means the compressor is inefficient. Because a good compressor should drop down the PSI close to 0.
