I got it yesterday and i love it. It retail about 400$ in lLebanon, and as any gadget I get I watch the review in here. The battery life is really good and I got in black aluminium and feels great and premium in the hands (or one hand) just the sweet spot when it ccomes to screen size and pocketability. Just a nice well built android tablet.
@Gravage11 жыл бұрын
One of the most underrated tablets, in my opinion. It's pretty much the sweet spot on size and performance is top notch. I have zero complaints with mine. It's especially good with the smart cover.

Great review, thanks for showing us all the features. I've had my LG G Pad 8.3 for two and a half months now and I'm really enjoying it. I wanted to get a small tablet so I could do social media functions on the go for my business. I didn't want to mix that with my personal accounts on my iPhone, it's a hassle to constantly sign in and out of accounts, and didn't want to put extra wear and tear on my iPhone so it would last longer. My only complaint is that the battery life goes very quickly and also apps aren't updated as frequently or completely as it is for Apple ios. I guess that's just an android issue. Overall this is a great small tablet for the money!

Dear Lisa, first of all, many thanks for all your reviews. I enjoy watching them and it helps me in choosing my devices. I recently bought this tablet for around 200 Euro - 270 Dollar in Qatar, while i am here on business. Using it for approximately one month now, it is a very good tablet. The UI could be better though. I prefer standard Android, ie KitKat.

Thank you for this review! 8-inchers aren't just "the new 7-inch," they're what Android always should have been. Sure, the concept was proven by the iPad Mini (and arguably the Galaxy Note 8.0), but the difference is that, at 8-inches, the 16x10 aspect ratio makes sense in a simple and elegant way.

Hi Lisa I have a question, if this Lg GPad 8.3 is actually upgrade to kitkat, do you think this update will be deployed globally and not just tu US market? I'm from latin america and your excellent review convinced me to buy this tablet, but I have just that concern of the android update, thanks for such an interesting review! Greetings from argentina

Nice review. Can you hide the soft keys on the g pad? (On the lg g flex you can, under the display options, which means that games like asphalt 8 can be played in full screen. You can't do the same on the lg g2 -when I tried a few weeks ago).

Christ woman get a better camera PLEASE! For 1080p it'd fool me for nearly 480p. All these high-end phones and yet we get this quality. The Note 3 has a 4K camera for goodness sake! How many of them do you have floating around??? Either way, love your reviews and channel! Keep up the good work! :-D

I've got the gpad in black. It's a nice tablet. I got it for £15 more then the nexus 7. Went out to buy the nexus 7 then I saw this. It had better specs for not much more, and looks a hell of a lot better and feels really good. Plus I got a note 2 so 7 inch screen didn't not feel very ideal for a tablet for me. 8.3 Inch is a really good size.

Hi Lisa, wanted to say good review on the G Pad, I still enjoy it very much for my gaming tablet that I share with my husband. And also that I finally made up my mind as too what 10" tablet I plan on getting. And that's the second gen sony xperia tablet z2 so I think the tablet specs are great. Can wait for launch and for your review. Looking forward to it.

I have this tablet in black. Owned for a week now, feels just like my old iPad mini but with all the Benefits of Android and expandable SD. My only gripe is with the LG OS, it looks toy town, and is a little clunky at times, the extra features are gimmicky and haven't felt the need to use them. My advice go for the GPE version or alternatively root and get Cyanogenmod on there.

I literally just picked this up today. It was my second choice but after my first choice (Tegra Note) was confiscated by my wife for her own use. Glad she did, this is an amazing tablet. Oh and the Kit Kat update rumors currently point to March for both the G Pad and G2. I forgot where it was but I remember reading LG wanted to wait until after MWC where they plan to show off the new updated LG UI which will be included across all their KikKat builds.

I just ordered the Google Play edition version of this tablet today to replace my Nexus 7 2013. Just not satisfied with it. Larger screen will be great for notes and assignments, but not too large that I feel uncomfortable carrying it around school. Nexus 7 is too small to do those things and I am having serious touch screen issues which really affect gaming and note taking with a stylus.

Hi Lisa! I`m having a hard decision whether to get this one or the non-retina version of the ipad mini. I love the size of the g pad but find the Optimus UI inconsistent and it slows the down the OS in general (like Touchwiz on Samsung devices). I know, there is a Google Play Edition avaiable but it is not sold in Germany :(! Couldn` t find a ROM od the GP-Edition to flash so far... Any suggestions?! Thanks.
@cyrus606010 жыл бұрын
Please, I beg you to go with the G Pad. The original iPad Mini is slow, dualcore, and has an awful screen. And since they are at a similar pricepoint, the G Pad kills the Mini

Sound is not tinny but it is muffled, this my only complaint about this tablet. I have been using it for two months and it is good overall but I need to use headphones or the muffled sound is very annoying. The quick cover only makes it worst when you put it in the landscape stand position.

First world problem of the century. Complaining about 1200p being 'pretty low' resolution. I bet if the display was actually 4K, it'd be 'too expensive' for you, or, 'nobody needs dat many pixxulz dey make it too laggey'
@jaypob11 жыл бұрын
You're either trolling or you have no idea what you're talking about. This has a higher pixel density than an iPad Air. You average consumer is fine with as low as 150 ppi, and every tech geek out there will be fine with 250 ppi. If you can tell the difference between 270 ppi and 330 ppi, you're probably holding your tablet too close to your face. Downfall??? SMH.
@Marcheziora11 жыл бұрын

Elias Magdaleno I've ordered this tablet and it should arrive tomorrow, but I wouldn't agree that once you go android you never go back. Tried that with nexus 4, then Note 3, and even tough I hate small screens (hint: iPhone), I still haven't made the switch. Tablet wise, this will be my second tablet. Got iPad mini retina, and 400 000 apps made for tablets. Android still can't compete with that. But mb someday... :(

I think its wrong to say that android users get stuck with shit quality, look at the Asus transformer series, most of them are metal high quality units and the ones that aren't are high quality plastic on gorilla glass , if you count only Samsung and nexus (being Google) as the entire android range then yes they are cheap quality, but people often forget that there is MORE THEN JUST SAMSUNG,NEXUS AND LG, seriously if you just step out of your comfort zone for s second you will see so many good androids
@thamesuser11 жыл бұрын

she never said anything about the cheaper market for android tabs/phones being cheap, she said android as a whole, of coarse the high quality ones are more expensive but thats the point, still the most expensive ones are only about 5 to $600 which is just as cheap as the smallest lowest specked ipad, so yeah they are the premium quality ones, but they are still amaizngly cheap in comparison to any other

***** I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. It's a $500+ phone / tablet. All metal construction with dual speakers. I can make calls and send text on this tab. Very THIN! This was the tablet the iPad "mini" straight out copied. This is still the best tablet by far. If only Samsung would upgrade it to Kit Kat! The 7.7 is still the best designed tablet out there. The next gen of Samsung tablets looks HORRIBLE. Like an oversized phone with the thin bezels.
