A year ago, the screen on my G3 was cracked, so I had to buy a new phone (another G3). My daughter flooded the counter in the bathroom where my now year old new G3 was. While it did freak out a bit, it seemed to dry ok and work for about 2 months. This past weekend it would no longer charge or talk to the pc via USB. Thanks to you, I took a G3 with a corroded logic board, and a G3 with a shattered screen, and made a fully armed and operational G3! THANK YOU!

Thanks for the clear instructions on how to remove the motherboard! I wish I had found this sooner. My G3 suffered from the dreaded blue screen of death (motherboard failure) several months ago. My photos, music, etc was all saved to the sd card, so I had all that, but I lost my contact list (I didn't have a backup). Using your instructions, I was able to remove my motherboard, then I put it in the oven for 10 minutes at 320, let it cool and reassembled the phone. My G3 is now up and running again, and I was able to back up my contacts in preparation of switching to a Galaxy S8 on Friday. I was skeptical about cooking the motherboard to fix it, but I figured I really had nothing to lose. Glad I tried it, mainly due to your clear and easy instructions.

hello, like some of the other people in the comments my lg g3 d855 has a screen flickering issue and it fading in a vignette like filter, ive heard of a temporary fix by placing card on the camera sensor but i was wondering if you knew replacing the motherboard would help? i cant seem so find any forum/site that has found a permanent fix any help would be great, cheers

nah its way too costly for saying my contract finishes in 2 months so i'm just using a temporary phone. its also an unbelievable coincidence that 3 of my friends (all with G3's) are having the same problem and we all bought the phone in the same month. it's shocking customer service from lg because its their fault at the end of the day and definitely should be replaced for free. its all planned obsolescense

Well yes you can swap it but you need to consider what carrier you want to run on, memory size, if the IMEI number is clean to activate on your network, and no Google lock etc. That is all contained in the motherboard.

Yes it would stop. The black screen is caused by motherboard failure. But since you switched motherboards, you would have to start fresh. all of your saved data will be on the old board

Trying to pinpoint the issue with my LG G3, so hope you can give me a hint and if is worth to do this procedure. Was working great, and suddenly it turned off. When I put it to charge, it had battery left, still left it until it was almost full battery again. When tried to turn it on, it starts loading up, and starts rebooting, changed battery for a brand new one and didn't work. After trying hard reset, still not working. Tried to reinstall the software connected to the PC, but did't even start. Now still the same. It tries to turn on (Not all the times, have to pull out the battery and try few times before it gets to start) and still, same problem. I'd really appreciate your opinion with my issue, because really don't want to throw it to the can. I think is the most gorgeous device out there, so really want to fix it. +Dex Maddison Man I've heard of this before a little bit. You can research it a little more on Google to see if others have found a fix for this. I'm thinking though that changing the motherboard might be the answer. If you do just make sure that you get one that is for your wireless carrier and the correct memory size and that it has a clean to activate imei or serial number. I have a link in the video description where you can find some sometimes it varies a lot of what's available though.

+Rumeel12708 yeah the main think is you need a motherboard that's compatible with your carrier etc. so if your phone is att for example you need a att or factory unlocked one. I have a link in the video description where you can usually find some to check out. The best is usually from a phone that someone parts out due to broken screen etc. make sure it has a clean serial number for activation though too.

+Aurimas knowiun yes it could be that no Scheels caused it to overheat. Sounds like someone has that phone apart before. The IMEI is the serial number and asked to be clean with the carrier that you want to activate it with.

It works to swap the motherboard but then your new motherboard becomes what your phones will be. For example if your old phone is Verizon 16gb but the board you put in now is Tmobile 32gb then your phone will now be tmobile 32gb not the verizon anymore.. Make sense? So all the stuff on your old board will be gone.
