I replaced mine recently, for some reason it won't lock. I am wondering because I installed the trunk while it was open maybe got too much slack? I see the black pin/knob on the inside move up and down when I hit the lock and unlock button...

1 important step (maybe): the two weights can be removed with a 10mm socket so that it’s easier to take off and put on the seal in the back. You did it without removing the weights, but I’m sure it was a little harder to fiddle with the seal.
@SmartEasyDIYer

Thanks for sharing! I know iPhone X is very old (probably almost obsolete) by now, but mine has a lot of sentimental value, and I needed it more quickly than a shop could return it. I just finished replacing the screen, battery, and charging port about 2 hours ago with the help of this video, and after a small mishap (totally user error) where the screen came disconnected briefly, I was able to open it up again and reconnect it and now it's working great! My fiance had it repaired at a shop about 3 years ago, replacing the screen and battery, and it cost $250. I've just done that, plus the charging port, and a new screen protector for about $50!

I have the same opener, but I have a problem that the top door element isnt getting closed enough. Its like a gap of 1,5-2" on top from the door element to the wall/top gasket. Any idea how i can make the motor push the element all the way? There is no obsctructions and there isnt tension between the port engine and the port itself.
@SmartEasyDIYer
@SmartEasyDIYer 24 күн бұрын
On mine the way to adjust the travel distance is all the way back there’s a grey piece about 6” long that is adjustable. I think that does for opening, I don’t recall for the down travel tho, that may be on the motor itself. I’ll check into it next week when I’m home.

@jules_11 haha it means you pull up and someone is there to pump your gas for you. You just tell them how much you want like fill it up, or $15, give them a card or cash and they will do the rest. Some even wash your windshield. If I ever go to one I tip them. Not everyone does of course.

To have to take off all that stuff to replace the rubber gasket…. It reminds me of the Ford Pinto where you had to drop the engine to replace the leaky main seal. Who designs these things? Accountants? I have an older model which doesnt include the easy access panel to seevice the filter. I wonder if I could get a new panel with the access door and have it align.
@SmartEasyDIYer

And under the panel with a flash light as the trim above the back window has to come off before you can access the handle. However cable is not visible here. So in from the back. Can you take show me how to get the cable to release.
