16:9 = forcing the source signal to 16:9 aspect ratio. ORIGINAL = passthrough the source signal aspect ratio. ON = just 1:1 pixel perfect. It will NOT cut off 2,5% at the borders.

Hi thanks for this, just wondeirng how you bring up the HDR and dolby vision specific settings. I just get the standard settings each time. Im using PS5 and 4k/HDR/Dolby supported disc, all settings enabled on both the TV and console, but still no specific setting menu.
@benpascall4297 Жыл бұрын
They'll only activate when you play content in HDR and Dolby Vision respectively. As Phil said in the video, play one of those formats through a 4k disc or Netflix Premium /Amazon Prime / Disney and then you'll be able to tweak the picture settngs for UHD once HDR or DV content is playing. You can't change the settings for those modes unless you're playing the specific format on your screen.

If it's too dark or too bright for the room, yeah. Technically, the default brightness might be most accurate to developer intentions but that doesn't mean it will look best.

Issue with the Panasonic ub820 and G3 with Dolby vision. The TV info is not pulling through 4:4:4. Apparently this is a known issue with Dolby vision as its player lead rather than TV lead. My settings are all correct on the player for 4:4:4 chroma.

I bought the C3 two weeks ago. Love the picture. I'm on my second one. First one was "open box". This one is new. The sound increases, decreases by itself very loud to very soft. Happens with or without Roku. I tried new Roku. I increased my internet speeds. Called tech 4 times. Ive reset everything many times. I turn off settings. I turn them on. New cables. It's going back tomorrow . Any suggestions to fix it ???????? Is this a common issue?

Hello, i was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with Dolby Vision. I used the settings given here. They look a bit too dark. I was watching Midnight Mass on Netflix, to be exact: episode 3 at minute 51:50 when the sheriff runs off the lamp and jumps because he saw something out the window. I didn’t see a thing! So I tried using another picture mode. Vivid. And I could see the face of what scared him. I tried to make higher the black level and at some point you see the face in the window but to my idea, the picture overal looses quality. Any idea what I could do? Thanks!
@skallan91 Жыл бұрын
Hello, I have exactly the same problem as you with the Dolby Vision which is much too dark in cinema and home cinema mode, I use the vivid mode which is much better, I hope LG will correct that.
@benpascall4297 Жыл бұрын
Vivid mode should not be used under any circumstances, bless you want grass which looks fluorescent. The settings are correct - the TV is in it's element during darker room viewing. You will get used to it over time and vivid will look horribly wrong once you've trained your eyes.
@dip963111 ай бұрын
I agree vivid should not be used, but I have not seen an answer as to why the face cannot be seen in the window, if the G3 is as good as everyone says...and I have it.
@Itstheclaw8 ай бұрын
Same issue. The TV all together is too dark and doesn't do blacks correctly. There is no middle ground for blacks at all. Anything on screen that even remotely resembles black/dark gets completely blacked out and treated the same as stuff that should truly be black. It makes people with dark hair look like they have a void on the top of their head. A person's hair should not be the same as the blacked out aspect ratio borders.
@erick23d8 ай бұрын
Im kind of glad I’m not the only one with this issue. I watched @QUANTUM TV’s channel here on KZbin (maybe worth checking) and there he advices to change your modus to SDR in general. That means that HDR material as well as Dolby Vision material is viewed through SDR modus. I did this and to be honest. I’m quite happy o did because you do get a brighter image with details. Blacks and whites etc. I think it’s kind of a shame we don’t let the different modus kick in. But if you want a nice picture quality , it seems that is the best way to go. I hope it helps you all ! 😃

I think these people are forgetting to turn off the energy saving mode because I have the 77 inch G3 and it’s bright as could be, too bright that I would almost want to bring down the brightness.
@gordonfreeman59584 ай бұрын
"Most accurate" does not necessarily mean best. I would select Native colour gamut for all content, and enable Dynamic tone mapping and Expression enhancer Brightness for most HDR content. You can adjust OLED pixel brightness depending on ambient light level too.

Both the 65- and 55-inch review samples I have (one retail, one direct from LG) are very clean uniformity wise and no dead pixels. It can be the luck of the draw with a consumer product and it sounds like you were unlucky twice. I've got the g3 and hdr film with dynamic tonemaping off. The image just looks so dark and dull. No of the highlights, like light, sun, or fires, stand out like dolby vision. But then, with dynamic tonemaping on, it just makes everything too bright.
