Both tvs are very very similar while watching content because the peak brightness improvements are incrimental. But for gaming they are night and day because Lg now implemented their colour boosting algorithm into game mode ( all other Lg Tvs dont use the panels full potential in game mode which has been a well known problem for years )

Nice OLEDs. I have the LG C2 48" which works very well for me. I usually upgrade my TVs roughly 5-7 years unless something has gone wrong with it. I don't see the need to upgrade so often, unless you sell and buy your TVs every year which is a bit more of a hassle than I'm willing to go through every year.
@danielunderwood52174 ай бұрын
FeaturesI'd like to see: 1. Build your own homescreen. Make it more like android where you can resize and move apps, cards, ads, etc. 2. A wider set of mounting points added would be nice. I just ordered the G3 77", and I would like to put it on a stand/eet that put the feet much closer to the outside edges to make room for a center channel or sound bar underneath (as opposed to out in front of the LG base, or on a shelf below. 3. A smart, home theater setup feature would be cool. One where you enter in the types and/or model numbers of your soundboard, receiver, apple tv/roku/etc, game consoles, etc. and then based on what's in your system, and maybe some questions about preferences, it will tell you how to connect them all together for the best picture, sound, and performance. It could show wiring configurations on the screen, as well as the ports 4. Detachable/replaceable cord 5. If the tv could control led backlight straps it would be awesome. What I am imagining is a strip of LEDs that plug into the TV's USB. Then the tv controls the color of the backlight based on what is on the screen. There are backlight kits with a camera that look at the screen, and use that to control the lights, but I feel like the tv could easily send that information out of a USB to the light source.

Thanks for this. At least you proved it's not worth to upgrade the g3. 1. Most of people won't even utilise the higher brightness in the first place as you would have to lower the brightness anyway to make the TV watchable and not to burn out your eyes. I don't see a single reason to watch the TV in full brightness even in bright room. 2. How many people will use 144hz refresh rate 5%? PC gamers use professional monitors and going with OLED is rather downgrade for them. Complete waste of money in my case. Despite the fact the human eye can only recognise and notice only up to 90hz refresh rate. Even 120hz is nothing more than marketing. Helped me make my choice.

I’ve been seeing lots of reviews praising its gaming capabilities and being the best budget gaming TV, some even saying it’s comparable to the LG G4 and Sony Bravia 9 (at least in terms of gaming). The TCL QM851G supports HDMI 2.1 up to 144hz, it was tested at around 6,000 nits of peak brightness, and it has an extensive game mode with up to 240 VRR. I want to know your thoughts on it, and just how much better the LG and Sony are? I’m assuming you wouldn’t be able to tell any difference unless it was side by side. The TCL’s gaming features is what really drew me in.

I've never had a burn in issue with OLEDs. I think for folks who had a burn in issue, they're abusing their TVs or they have a defect, or they just don't understand how to care for an OLED, and which consumer should use OLED. For instance, the TV in the master bedroom is a QLED LCD panel because my wife always has the TV on. When she leaves the house, sometimes the TV is on. She sleeps with the TV on. So I would never buy her an OLED. I have the 77' G4 in my mancave. Screensavers are great for OLEDs. Pixel cleaning, picture shift, and logo dimming as well. But the very best way to preserve and OLED is to not use the pixels at all. This is a feature that LG has, like most others, but never gets talked about, and that is the screen off feature. I use this feature heavy, infact I don't have a screensaver setup on my game consoles or any other thing that provides pictures to my TV. If I'm playing a game or streaming and my wife calls me or someone is at my door, I pause, and I use the screen off feature which is the very first icon that pops up at the top because it's that important and it's in heavy use. If I'm watching live TV like football and I'm cooking food and I got to go check on it, boom, I just hit the setting button on the remote and select screen off. Screensavers are great, but if you're not currently viewing your TV, then completely turning the pixels off is the ultimate way to preserve your OLED.

The newer Sony and Samsung OLED panels are prone to burn in, color volume reduces over time as well. LG it’s much less of an issue. Also, people shouldn’t have to always consider reducing burn in as products killing themselves through normal use is a pretty poor value proposition.

I hear that game mode on the G4 looks a lot better than the G3?

You don't use just scan on? Aspect ratio original and just scan on is 1 on 1 pixel mapping.
