Kind of. The visor on the 6p stretches across the entire device. As someone who owns one, I honestly don't think it immediately draws your eyes to it in the same way that this... implementation does. I think the G5 looks slightly generic but maybe that's just me. I don't think it looks bad, but using the Nexus design language on their flagship device is a weird decision in my opinion when they already have the v10 to draw from.

Yeah it does look better in HD video and in someone's hand. I wasn't really concerned by the leaks of the design. Since everyone said the 6P/iPhone 6/S6 were all ugly in leaks but than "gorgeous" once they saw it in video or in person.

other than the missing app tray... I'm blown away. I'm a Note 4 user. I always wonder why Apple didn't bring that battery tray below feature. Some many home appliances do that. Samsung your in trouble if that LG battery is good.

After watching this video, I will be switching from my galaxy s4 to the LG G5 . Removable battery and micro sd slot is very important to me and i use both of those function a lot daily. If there are no other new phones that gives me those 2 things, then the G5 is where I'm headed.

Same here, G5 is my favorite smartphone so far and I've been thinking about upgrading but not a fan of how big the v10 is and not a fan of how the G5 looks. Removing the volume buttons from the back and taking out the app drawer killed the G5 for me, also the camera design is awful in my opinion.

It looks like something out of the space age, which is both cool (to me) and aged (to many others). I have a 6P and I love the design as it mimics that of the One M7 (my previous phone) from 2013. The camera "hump" is not prevalent at all and ultimately makes the camera one of the best on the market. Back to the G5, I love the idea with the battery being a slot. This can enable mid-year spec updates such as a better screen or camera modules for less in price than a conventional smartphone with the same specs. It makes sense and is a fantastic idea. I'm interested to see what LG has cooking from here on out, but I'm too happy with my 6P to get an upgrade any time soon. Especially when this has a mediocre UI and no front facing speakers. Also, I feel that the "no bands" back loses in design for me. Maybe that's an odd opinion, or maybe it's because I like that design as my last two phones have bands that I've just preferred that, but I feel like the design is a little too minimal. But like I was alluding to above, this can all be fixed if LG comes out with more "modual cases". Only time will tell.

As an owner of a G3, I actually like the design they came up with. In order to keep their customer base excited and lure more in from other platforms/builds, I think they came up with a good design blend. In this day and age, staying the same, exception to apple, is a death sentence *cough* HTC. I like the innovation they put into it and the huevos it took to go this far outfield with the G5. The lack of an app drawer may draw more ios(ers) to them but I don't like it personally, however, it is far from a deal breaker IMO. The skin doesn't look overbearing otherwise though. Can't wait for more in depth reviews.

Love LG for stepping out on a limb. We all have to work on accepting change although we ask for it. We ask for new cool things on phones and at first, when we get it we say I don't know, then I love it lol. Taking phones back to the basics and giving us good hardware I like, then we enjoy the customization of android along with 3rd party vendors where I will get my home replacement so I still have app drawer. if I decide I can add a case or skin. Thanks LG for giving freedom to do what we want, everybody complains about software anyway whether its you or Samsung, whoever. now we have motion and one less thing to complain about. modular components something else we wanted but we may have slight resistance but we have options and I love it. the sound, look, and feel is premium I like it, next step hope speakers are good and hopefully v series has larger screens of 5.7 or so. no app drawer will be good for people afraid of technology and new to smartphone it brings simplicity and cuts down he's we have to train family members trying to stay current

How does removing the app tray avoid confusion? Have you known anyone ever to be confused by an app tray? All I'm hearing is that you'll need to slap a launcher on it straight out of the box.

I'll at least consider it to replace my G3. Glad they were able to utilize a metal body and keep the removable battery and SD slot. I will, however, replace the launcher with Nova almost immediately out of the box due to the nonsensical absence of an App Drawer.

The App drawer being in there. You just need to get yourself to settings and pick Easy Home launcher. No App drawer is just predefined:-)
