Everyone saying that these modules are useless and that this isn't innovative are missing the point. LG is bringing the first iteration of a modular phone to the masses that every one was so exited about when project aura was announced. This is going to allow not only LG but other phone companies to rethink the smart phone. imagine being able to walk into a store, pick out your favorite company, and then build your own tailored phone. you get to pick and choose how much you want to spend, what features fit your life style, and eventually well even have after market parts sort of like computers. So yes, even if this phone doesnt become as hyped as the iphone 7, LG definitely has become more innovative and thoughtful when it comes to its customers.

The biggest drawback of this modular design is that you have to turn off your phone every time you want to swap something out. And THEN wait for it to power back on again... Might not be a big deal, depending on how frequently you use modules. Or it could be really cumbersome. It would've been tight if they put a tiny stand-by battery in the phone so you could keep it on while you swap modules.

Can you map any other functions to the dial ? Because zoom is useful when video recording but for photo exposure or aperture is more useful.

Noticed it zoomed in once you started to record, would be great in the next video if you covered the video aspects with the camera module. Smooth Zooming, focus tracking, using the total view of the ultra wide lens. 4k in both configs? frame rates, bitrates? LG's website has basically no info.

Modules I want to see: dual stereo speakers, physical folding keyboard/case attachment, and maybe even a 3rd attachment lens that enables more focus control or a second front camera (like the V10). Or how about a place to hold a stylus. Also, since there's a camera attachment with a battery, I want to see a battery case that surrounds the phone.... Please add more that you'd like to see so LG doesn't quit at the 3 they made!

they are planning to launch 2 different bundles .only not every carrier is going to launch with both modules sadly. lg g5 with camera. and lg g5 with hifi. both are the bundles. or you can buy separately. also more mods are on the way
