That's the best G5 review I've seen, thank you! Just a note: 4:42 - There is a shortcut in a folder to add apps together. The app drawer is back if you choose to (in LG store). There is also a (surprise!) super brightness mode that activates when in direct sunlight. It almost doubles the 100% brightness. You can't do it manually though.
@cpthornman8 жыл бұрын
And this is why PocketNow is one of the best mobile tech review channels out there. Look at any other review for the G5 and it is just childish bitching because it did something different from Apple and Samsung. Very biased and unprofessional. Not the case here. Very well thought out and actually looks at what the phone can do. Way too many supposed tech reviewers hung up on the look of the device while missing the point that it's a phone not a fashion accessory. It's a concerning trend in this country that more and more are caring about looks more than actual substance.

Picking up where Samsung left off with the S5. The G5 has an IR blaster, removable battery, and expandable SD storage, plus modules. A phone should be functional like a Swiss Army Knife and this one seeks to be just that. The phone may not win any style points, but most people will slap a phone cover over it anyhow so thats not a big deal. This is a must buy for me personally.

I think some don't like it because it is too different. Its just how things go. Overtime I think people will see the greatness of this phone, once they get tired of the same old, same old

Fist off I love the size of this phone which is the only reason I sold my Nexus 6P. I feel like they really found the sweet spot. The camera is also great with the additional wide angle lens and the app drawer can be fixed with the Google launcher. I do agree that the phone scratches pretty easily but with a removable battery, I can deal with everything else. The G4 was my favorite phone of last year and didn't get the credit it deserved. I hope this isn't the case for the G5.

+Minh Pham ive had a nightmare with the g4, had it replaced twice all over the fact of being stupidly slow just after 2 months of use, and then its focus would fail and the camera would give off muddy noisy footage. when i saw the g5 i thought about upgrading to it but after all th quality issues and the other issue with it still looking like a childs toy ive decided to go with the s7 edge.
@MinhPham04078 жыл бұрын
Mathewmartialart sorry to hear your bad experience with the G4. I think LG has serious manufacturing problems, my G4 died on me after 7 months of use, but within that period I was very happy with it. I am not sure what happened to the camera of your G4, but mine produced great photos and videos, and it hardly lagged. I'm waiting to get the S7E too, had to say goodbye to LG. How's your S7E?

@notoyaarthur19908 жыл бұрын
u r definitely correct this phone needs more polish. u would think that with them trying a new design style and technology they would try to add some stuff from the previous iteration that people liked so as to make the phone experience a bit more familiar and comfortable for LG users. and to give them the convenience of use they r accustomed to. But no with a completely revamped design they decided to go backwards and pretty much strip the software down to the bare minimum. the camera is great and the screen resolution looks good. but every other cool software feature we r used to is gone. no dual window, no app drawer, a disorganised home screen. rather than adding newer features they took away so much and this hinders user experience. now the things I'm used to being able to do on my G3 I can't on the g5 which is 2yrs ahead of it in technology. very disappointing. and the least they could've done was make the battery at least 3000mah. u gonna put a faster processor and better screen on there and not beef up the battery? u could've done so much with this phone LG and I really wanted to buy it. was gonna pre-order it but I wanted to wait until it actually came out so that I could see it myself and see reviews of what it can or can't do. and I'm starting to b grateful that I waited. u really missed the mark here LG.

I had high hopes for this phone but the execution is lacking. The GS7 knocked it out of the park this year by being iterative rather than innovative and it paid off. The GS5 had a bunch of features but was hideous while the GS6 dropped a lot of them for a nicer look. The hardware lineup matured years ago and if you had a top of the lines phone 2 or even 3 years ago, there's little reason to upgrade. The major problem still remains in the software.
@dcresistance8 жыл бұрын
+mrcraggle And the availability and lack of modules. There are only 4, but the best one (the hifi module) isn't even available in the US. They should've had 7 or 8 modules at least.
