Hey, how did you turn the lg g5 on by touching the pin at 11:47 in the video, was it a light touch on the gold pin, did you push it forward? how exactly do you turn it on?
@xman03695 жыл бұрын
did anyone ever answer this?
@NitroGuyJH6 жыл бұрын
Actually How2Tech if you remove the battery and look inside the phone at the very bottom left corner there is a tiny hole in the black plastic. That hole is there for a reason. Take a paper clip with a small hook bent in the end and insert it into the hole, pull firmly and it will unlock the slide lock and the phone will separate with minimal force.

If you purchase a replacement screen with the black frame already attached what changes go as far as instruction?

I did not understand. If I need to replace ONLY front glass panel, why do I need to tear down all the phone? Can i just remove the screen + MB assembly from the casing and start working on the glass?
@happynappy1008 жыл бұрын
Val K yes I believe you can. this was just a full-ish tear down

Hey H2T, great video. I was wondering if you could help me with a mod question. I fly drones using 5G wifi, however my signal crashes around the 70m mark, yet the drone I use is supposed to have around the 400m capability, So I was wondering if you could tell me where the ariel is in the G% and how i could fit an r sma lead to it so i could add a directional beam ariel or even a yagi. Or better still is there some sort of wifi antenna that i could connect wirelessly to without having to strip down my lg g5? cheers

I need to replace my digitzer since I smashed it working on my car, I'll be buying one that has the frame already connected. If I'm replacing the digitzer and frame, I don't need to heat it up to remove the display like you showed in the video, right?
@swellequation28616 жыл бұрын
Eric Ver Linden No, if you still care since its been 6 months. All you would need to do is pry it off and disassemble and unscrew the motherboard until you hit the frame and the display itself. To make the whole repair easier, buy a display with the Frame already on it so all you would need to do is put the thing back together using the replacement display.

We replaced a charge port flex on one. Now we are getting an error saying, "This module you've attached doesn't work for this phone or isn't inserted correctly." We ordered a new flex but had to desolder a little bronze contact with 3 points and move it over to the new flex.

what is the flex cable around the ear piece called. that sticks to the lcd
@raysirius26338 жыл бұрын
BIGORANGEHUNTER me too I wanna know. I accidentally snapped that cable when I tried to repair the lcd itself. I dunno what that cable does. somehow the phone is fully functional. hopefully someone answers this.

What do I do if I just need to replace the actual glass, the LCD works fine, I'm using it right now! There's just an enormous ugly crack across most of my screen...
@danielmartuniac99287 жыл бұрын
just buy the glass and lcd in one piece. Iti is much easier to replace, and only cost a few bucks more

@happynappy1008 жыл бұрын
EzzilanDeRR it's hard to know but if it seems really cheap like less than about £50ish there is a significant chance it could be. however as it's isn't a super common phone there is less likely to be cheap knock-off screens anyway.

I was so happy with my G5 until recently now I hate it. After only 7 months the GPS refuses to catch a location and the screen is just horrible because now it has an image retention issue. If I am on a page for even just a minute reading something, that image becomes sort of "burned" into the screen and all I then see is the ghost of that behind everything. It goes away only if I then play a video where things are moving on the screen which then makes the ghosted image slowly disappear. Why would it do such a thing???? Then if I have it on a full black screen, one can even see what looks like 4 pixels still letting light through. It is like 4 little white broken pixels. Argh. So not feeling it anymore.
@Abraham-ui6kc7 жыл бұрын
SDav21 lg g5 has lcd screen, image retention is really common on lcd's but it goes away in an amoled if that happens it will be permanent. An that of the black screen is calles "screen bleeding" is really comlon on LG devices but nothing to worry about
@EnhancedNightmare6 жыл бұрын
Image retention gets worse over time but isn't really a problem. After a year the phone has washed out whiter spots around edges.
