My favorite 2 features is the quad dac and amplifier for the headphones jack and the awesome dual camera with the wide lens and manual settings! Not to mention the always on screen showing notifications and time, something they started first with the v10. And now we have the new screen tech supposedly much less battery hungry (up to 30%) and the boombox speaker design. All these for a much more reasonable price than iPhone

Tim R. The BOOMBOX is actually better than the speaker on the V30. The SD845 is better than the SD835, the screen doesn't have that grey shade problem, the screen is brighter. I had already mentioned about the battery being smaller. I do agree that it may not last as long as the one on the V30, but it won't be that much less. Relax man, I like LG and the V30, but you can't say the V30 is better than the G7 in every way.

I don't think the LG G7 is released yet anywhere? But you are correct LG and android in general are terrible with OS updates, sometimes thats a good thing, Apple is the other way and used to force updates, now they just nag you to death, even if it slows you older iPhone. I think the older LG G^ and LG v30 and 20 now have android 8 depending on carrier of course, with all of the carrier bloatware. It was a good buy at that time. The iphone is barely more than 1080P compared to 3160X1440P and 1000 nits with no burn in. Actually that is one of the biggest weaknesses of Android, even google phones give you basically 1 or 2 os updates and thats it. The good part of that is android 4-5-6-7 are still supported with great apps, while iOS pretty much bans and deletes apps as the os updates and will not let you access them again. Let's not even talk about Apple iPhone prices and repair costs, ok :)

It’s by far the best looking phone. 3D facial scanning is far better than Touch ID, in terms of security, attention aware features and it enables better facial tracking within apps such as SnapChat and Animoji and you can use it for Apple Pay.

Jordan Nealy I agree with the glass back issue. But the iPhone X has proven to be the best at OLED Burn-in management evident through testing. I haven’t had burn in, and if I do. Apple will fix it using the warranty and the 4 year UK consumer law. I also upgrade yearly and have AirPods. But for those who love the wires, it comes with an adapter AND Lightning EarPods. What more could you want from a phone that pushes the future!

the only phone with a notch that looks "good", is the iPhone X... On the iPhone X the notch looks like "we NEEDED the notch" because beside the notch all bezels are EXACTLY the same thickness. On phones like the G7 the notch looks like "we WANTED a notch because Apple also uses one..." An Always on Display is also a pretty good idea... on an LCD... just like the notch which can't be disabled because it's an LCD... And here in germany the G7 will start at 849€ for 64GB. (for comparison the iPhone X starts at 1149€ and the S9 also started at 849€ but is now available for about 700.) So they don't "undercut the competition". Not at all. and that's stupid.

Oh come on now, all companies have prototypes from years ago, essential had the pop up camera and under-screen sensor patents, in 2015-2016 and most likely had the notch design before Apple, they showed it officially long before Apple, and sold their phone long before Apple. Apple always tries to sue those that copy. But they cannot sue android phones because it was android phones that brought the notch. They would have to sue themselves first. And essential and android's notches have a thin chin on the bottom for more strength, like the essential phone. Now to be fair it is possible both essential and Apple came up with the notch independent of each other and at about the same time. I give you that, but can you give me that essential was the first smartphone last year that officially showed and sold the notch, and that it is the best implemented and least intrusive notched design. If essential copied any of the rumored iPhone x drawings which mostly did not show a notch after essential showed their phone in spring, than why is their notch so much better implemented, and why did they not copy OLED. no bottom chin, protruding camera lens? If they copied anything it would be no headphone jack and sd card, but that was the iPhone 7. And there would be no way for essential to instantly bring a phone to market a month or two after rumors. They even chose ceramic and titanium, and their phone was in development for years and they have the patent filings and fcc registration to prove it. The fact is one was officially show last spring and officially sold last summer, while the other one had tons of rumors some with notch some with a screen fingerprint reader. Of course Apple will never admit it failed at anything including the under-screen fingerprint reader which all companies, including Apple were trying to do. there is no way I am believing the Apple iPhone X came up with the entire iPhone X in 2014 and waited 3 years just to milk loyal apple users with old parts and supplies, but than again thats apple, late to the party, yet claiming all of the innovation is from them, notch or OLED or wireless charging or fast charging or thin bezels and 18/9+ ratio and face id, when Androids had those along with the glass on metal design for years and Apple was going on 4-6 years with the same design language.

With LG you can have wireless and wired. When you are audiophile, wireless all are useless. Apple's OLED display is made by LG! Do you know why LG used this one instead of OLED? Because it saves power! The biggest problem these days on phones is battery life. Black level's and colours on the new LG7 LCD are impressive. They say it is almost like OLED, but with much higher brightness! 3 minutes on 1000 nits is enough to check something, or place a call in the bright sun. And 800 nits in high brightness mode is enough to work while in a bright place (lets say on the beach or in a sunny place). On my LG G5 I have 64GB+250GB storage and is not enough (I have a lot of uncompressed music!) Now there is a 512GB SD card coming out soon! 256GB SD card cost only about 100 Euros and you get to keep also your existing internal storage.. iPhone costs 150 Euros to get the bigger model for less total storage.

SUPER USER 1. Screen is 30% more efficient while the SD845 is about 60% more efficient, so it should easily Outlast the G6 and be on par with the V30. 2. LCD doesn't have screen Burn-in like OLEDs and this new LCD had great color accuracy and brightness.

Tim R. 3. Less if NO distortion at all 4. LG will allow remapping in a future update. 5. Sensor size is only a part of the equation. What matters most is how good pictures look. Just look at the P20 Pro, for the size sensor they have, their photos should look THE BEST, but in some instances the LG created Pixel 2 XL provided better pictures. I recommend you to learn about the software and hardware marriage necessary to create great videos and still photography.

Integrazimmy 1. Bullshit. Just because LG is saying that the screen is more efficient, soesn mean it actually is. And it NEVER is. Especially every single new processor is proving this. If those specs were actually correct every time, a S9 would last about 2 weeks with a 3000 mAh battery. 60% more effecient hahaha. You must be kidding if you seriously believe those specs are true. 2. Just try "LG G4 burn in" on google search. LCD can burn in, too. LG has proved that many times, just like the 1st gen Moto 360. And many KZbinr have said that the LCD from the G7 is actually not that color accurate. It trys to be an OLED in terms of colors. 3. This has just optical reasons. Yeah you have distortion for sure. But you want to use a wide angle! And 107° is no longer that much of a wide angle. My V30 also has almost no distortion but still has 120° and this makes a HUGE difference. 4. Hahaha. LG and updates. At first they said they will allow remapping MAYBE in a fututre update and a "future update" from LG means in about 1-2 years. 5. Of course it's one part of the equation. But it's the most important one! The V30 has proved that. 1.0 micron IS too small. And you say it: The P20 Pro pictures look the best most of the time BECAUSE the sensor is that big! And the Pixel 2 also uses a big sensor with 1.4 micron pixels. Maybe you should learn that Software CAN make a difference but you definitely need good hardware, too. And the G7 doesn't have good hardware for their camera. Google only has the best camera software because they have a HUGE amount of data. LG doesn't have any comparable. And if you don't have that amount of data, you definitely need good hardware to "compensate" this. Huawei is doing this, LG does not.

Tim R. That's exactly my point. If the P20 Pro has a sensor that's nearly twice as big (pixel 2=1/2.6 p20 pro=1/1.7) then why is it that some shots are better on the Pixel 2 than the P20 Pro? Your said it, software. So I think you're jumping the gun on This G7 since there's no information yet on sensor or Pixel size, but I don't think you know that Google gave away the software for portrait photos and other algorithms to everyone, so i wouldn't be surprised if the G7 has some of Google's software since they work so close together. All I'm saying is, so far the pictures look GREAT! Specially those low light shots where they combine for pixels into one to create a very bright image at a lower resolution. Relax a bit, no one is trying to change your opinion.
