LG HBS-760 Review

Thanks Caleb. I've had these for some months - worked well, but recently the left channel was fading. I thought these were dying just like my old ones. I saw your post tonight, and took a look with an eye loupe. Sure enough, the left side looked different and I was able to gently peel off a small black cover. It looks like the adhesive failed, and it shifted enough to block the sound. Back in business! Great job!

Thanks for the Tip - I Pulled the little mesh piece inside the ear bud hole off - (I used a fine point tweezers) Works like a charm. The issue is it gets clogged with Ear wax and that is why you can not hear.

got the powder blue one yesterday...tested at home where normally I have connection issues w/phone calls...service was good. Took it to the gym the next day...worked very well upstairs and downstairs. new to these and not quite yet comfortable with controlling, but feels very light, if it wasn't for music would forget they were on...so far so good.

Awesome review, I have the white version and I love them. I upgraded from the 750 which was downright horrible. I was planning on making a video on these since there aren't any reviews of the 760 but this was spot on. Also on Android phones, the volume adjustment when you move the slider is separate. There is a separate headphone volume and a separate phone volume. So far so good. Battery lasts forever, best headset I've ever owned. Got them off verizon.

Had the 730s and they broke after 2 years (which is awesome considering my headphones used to last like 3 months) definitely gonna try and get me a pair. I use em primarily in the gym weightlifting and they do the job well. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for posting. Good info, have not used a blue tooth in years (think back old over the ear type). Was wondering about the volume control because it was not getting any louder - now I know.

I had the same problem with not being able to hear with my new earbuds, HBS-760. I took your advice and peeled off the cover on the plastic earbud and it worked.... my sound was back. The plastic thin layer, almost paperlike, was very dirty. My question is do I clean and reuse the same little round plastic covers or is there a store where I can find replacements. I have a funny feeling that I am going to be one of those people who will have to replace the covers every month or so because I get recurring ear infections.

It has a very very common malfunction of the left side ear piece. The volume is very very low after a few weeks of using it. I'm on my 3rd replacement now

Rick this is a great video, but I just bought me a pair of these (hbs 760) 75 dollars tax and all. I also bought a pair of hbs 900 of infinim. Hated the infinim, 150 dollars no noise reduction, music quality was little better than 760's but reception was bad on the lg tone infinim, the Siri connect wasn't to great, only thing that was a plus in my book for the lg infinim was the retractable ear buds. So for my opinion don't pay 100 dollars on Amazon or $150 in store for the lg tone infinim when you can get a noise reducted great quality headset, with good Siri connect and talk and reception lg tone 760 for half the price. Just send my infinims back. A retractable bud wasn't enough on what all the lg 760's offer.

If the left or right side get too were you can't hear, take a toothpick and pull off the mesh piece on the ear hole. Then you will regain all sound.

I purchased these a few months ago. So far so good. I like the fact that when a text message comes in it will read you the text. Is there a way when a phone call comes in it will say the name of the person calling (like it does for a text) and if you want to make a call can you speak the person you are calling. Maybe I don't have a setting set correctly or I have to download an app. I have a Samsung Galaxy 5. Thank you.

Will this pair and connect with a laptop? I bought the hbs-900 but it doesn't connect with my laptop. It'll pair but will not connect. I want to purchase one that will connect with my phone when I want it to and connect with my laptop when I want it to.

the sound on my left side just decreased about 80% so I searched the web for a how to fix vid and all I find are comments and reviews of others having the same problem I actually traded in the 750 for the 760 because of the same issues........I think im over lg 😕

I'm really disappointed with the 760's. I'm having the same problems you had with the 730's with the 760's. Doing a fast-forward or rewind in Google Play Music locks up the program.

this model I have purchased two headset in USA (am staying in india, hyderabad). However one of headset is not working (not paring). i have approached to LG service center in hyderabad. However Response is not encouraging from them to replace. So be carefully and think twice to purchase this

Another big reason lg tone 760s are better is due to the fact that they are bendable for the neck and sweat resistant. The infinims are not I don't believe and they are not bendable what so ever. So you can't be the slightest rough with them.

I bought these exact pair last Friday, and by Wednesday, the sound was completely GONE in the right speaker. I'm extremely disappointed with this product. I've read the reviews, (which I should've done beforehand) and this is a common issue. I will say, LG offered to send me a replacement pair without any hassles, but after reading the reviews, why bother?! My opinion on them, the battery life is awesome, the sound (before it bit the dust) was really good. Calls were ok, I live in a sketchy area anyways. The range was...meh, nothing to write to mama about. Also, I noticed if I turned my head a certain direction, or my movements were "jerky" the sound got staticy.Honestly, I don't like the design of this particular model. My overall rating for this product is MAYBE 2 stars, and that's being generous!!!!

I just bought this same earphones last Friday and experienced the same problem (re sound coming from the right earpiece suddenly decreased by almost 90%). And to think that all this time I thought that I broke it as I was trying to replace the earbuds -- that it was my fault, when in actuality it is a common issue after all, as you just said. Ugh. Now thinking about looking for my receipt and see if I can have it replaced at Best Buy (even though I bought it in MN, and I'm now in CA).

There are volume settings on the headset. I felt you when i first used them. Then I figured out the headset it self needed to be turned up.

+Jermaine James SAME for me! I'm on my 3rd replacement and each one the left side ear bud goes out after a few weeks (decreases to about 20% volume)

+Jermaine James -- I can't help but comment here and mention that there is a big possibility that the ear-bud that is "gone" is coated with ear-wax. Some people have never seen q-tip before. I work on these units every day and the sound is VERY weak on one side, the other or both and 90% of the time taking that thin ear-bud cover off, exposing the speaker, will fix your issue perfectly.

+Shaun Johnson - Dude i work on these units for a living. I know what i'm talking about. I specifically get these units as returned products and out of the defective units 80-90% of them could be easily fixed by doing what i described above. If you are having these same issue with multiple units don't you think it might be a user issue? Now i have had issues with units where the sound is weak on one side and the earbud and cover is completely clean but that is a VERY rare exception.
