Yes. He factory reset. U hold the volume dwn button an the botton on left as soon as the k51 black screen comes up release quick an press again this will bring white screen follow directions from there. This WILL SAVE all your pics notes etc. He did whats called a hard reset. But u can so a SOFT reset aka not lose your pics etc

for anyone wondering the 2nd way to hard reset the phone: step 1: press and hold down the "volume down" button and the "power" button till the phone resets Step 2: after it resets, leave your finger on the "volume down" button but release your finger from the power button, after releasing, put your finger back on the power button and hold it there till you see the option to reset the phone (anything past that, use the volume up and down buttons to move between the yes and no option of resetting it and press the power button to select the option) hope it helps! :))

It took me about eight attempts and I finally got it so what I did was when it blinked off I left my finger with the volume down and when it vibrated n the k51 came on I did the power on and off real quick and it went immediately to white screen. Yay.
