got the 48inch C1 back in April for £750. I was after a 4k 120hz 1ms OLED Gsync etc... but actual ''monitors'' of the same calibre were around £2000. It was a no brainer. LG are owning the gaming market with these displays. I also found the size is amazing for immersion. I sit back in my chair so I'm three feet away. Looks great and plays well.

three feet is barely 1 metre ... it's not very far ... normally with a monitor you sit anywhere from 30 to 60 cm away ... so 3ft for a display that big is pretty close, imo.

I've been using the LG Ultragear 48" monitor for a month. I am a software engineer who works from home, and this monitor works well for that purpose, although I still prefer my 2nd dedicated development setup, which uses a Samsung 49" CRG9 Dual QHD Curved QLED. The Ultragear 48" really shines at gaming, which is what I have been using it primarily for. I got used to the size rather quickly, and now am able to play FPS, top down RPG's, 3rd person games with no problem. The emmersion is unbelievable, and must be experienced in person. If you have the $$, I would highly recommend this monitor for gaming.

Got mine about a week ago. It's phenomenal. Ironically, it's the perfect size for my desk. I think many people overestimate how big it will be and as a result end up missing out on what it has to offer. Granted, it takes quite a bit of color calibration to get right, but Hardware Unboxed did a great video that included calibration settings and their recommendations work perfectly - it produces far more accurate colors after calibration than my previous monitor. Frankly none of the panel care features like auto-dimming or pixel shift bother me at all. The lightning-fast response time is just another tip in its favor in addition to the true deep black levels. I don't think I could ever go back to IPS or VA after gaming on an OLED.

I bought this from B&H and have been using it for about two weeks. I was looking for a one screen solution where I could work (software development), pc game, and couch game. This fits that perfectly! I was previously using two 1440p 165Hz IPS displays and I have really enjoyed the extra real estate this offers when working. The inclusion of the display port was key for me as I currently have a 2080 Super. Not really a 4k 120Hz+ card but it is usable until I can upgrade. Since this is a monitor you can wake the screen by moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard. If the screen is too large for you when sitting right in front of it you can put it in ultrawide mode which reduces the screen size and resolution by putting large black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. However, LG did have to make some changes to the behavior of the display to prevent burn in: 1: The standard brightness isn’t that great. I have to use it at full brightness during the day, and my office does not get a ton of light. Most games look “brighter” because of HDR. It is far from being bad. But you won’t be happy with this in a super-bright environment. 2: The anti-glare coating is a trade off. Yes, this greatly reduces reflections but it also makes colors pop less than LG OLED counterparts.

If you want to use gsync you need to cap the frame rate to 4 frames lower than the monitor Hz. If you don’t you will be using vsync and not gsync. So for this monitor you should set a frame cap to 134. I recently got the LG C1 TV. 4K, 48”, 120hz, gsync, HDR. The option of a display port would have been nice. The headset I've got uses optical for console audio and I currently have to use an HDMI switch that is only HDMI 2.0 to get optical audio (series X removed the optical from the console, and if I had a PS5 they did the same thing). I may just have to get one of these because of that (unless any of the coming QD OLEDs also add it as a feature)

I actually do better in Esports games on my C1 as it has near-instant response no ghosting and it's such a big TV that I can an eye on a target easier. When I looked at the thumbnail I knew it was the 48 inch oled ultragear. Anyways I’ll be reviewing it and giving my input here. I really love the display absolutely gorgeous. Though I heard some people complained about matte finish instead of gloss which is definitely a bummer but it still produces color way better than other monitors I’ve used. Burns-in I wouldn’t worry about too much since lg covers you with warranty and oled care features. Hmm if you are playing competitive games maybe it’s not the best since it’s really huge because it’s 48 inch and it can be a let down, which is why majority of pro stick to small size TN Panels because of ultra less latency and there is not enough oled monitors out in the market besides the upcoming 1440p version of LG oled. Auto input source hasn’t been a problem since it does detect my PC, not sure about my PS5 but I would double check again just to make sure. Wish oled panels were brighter because that’s one of my huge cons of this monitor. I also wouldn’t even consider this as “monitor” since it’s a TV size but let’s just call it one because of the features it has that no one cares about. These are just the nitpicky stuff I’m pointing out but it’s better to know than not to know. Overall I say it’s aight. Not the best but decent. Anyways I keep it real with you Gs and heading out. I'm thinking of picking this monitor up today. I have 3 main rigs 7950X3d 4090 on an LG CX TV, 5800X3d Ftw 3 3080ti on a 3440x1440p 144hz gsync display and lastly a 7800X3d Nitro 7900XTX on a 1440p 144hz Freesync display. While my 2 ips monitors look fine after playing games on an Oled, it really makes me want a new oled gaming display for my xtx. It will also be great for my ps5 or SX.

I keep waiting for oled monitors to be in the 27-32 inch range so I can get one. 48 is just to large to me.

With my first personl use computer, i have a 21.5 inch monitor, i would seriously love to use a 48 inch monitor, for both game immersion and watch shows and anime after a tough match in warzone.

Nice monitor! I've been using the 48 cx over 2 years as a pc monitor, I had a time when I first got it getting an hdmi 2.1 cable that would work. Thankfully now days there easy to come by. No issues with burn in so far, if I'm away doing something I put up a full screen f11 solid black background I made with ms paint to turn off all the pixels. If all your oled pixels are off, then there can be no burn in. If and when something happens to my cx, I'll replace it with a monitor like this for sure.

Wouldn't it be easier just to turn off the monitor or have it go into sleep mode? If all your pixels are "off" (which I highly doubt they are) then your screen would be cold upon start up anyway. Sounds like an overcomplicated solution to a non problem...
@allenpost3616
@allenpost3616 Жыл бұрын
@@frogslayer4849 So with OLED's they have infinite contrast so when there is a black image or a shadow in a film or game there is zero light emission. In a pitch black room there is no light whatsoever coming from the tv with a 100% black image up. So for my use it is easier just to leave the unit on. The only time I turn off the tv is when I have my comp powered off.

I am playing fps games with my LG 42C2 oled in ultrawide 21:9 mode. Much easier to eyes and runs faster than native 4k. So LG 42C2 is perfect for 40" 21:9 ultrawide gaming in 3840x1600. resolution.

For those that like the ease to drive and height of a 1440p 32 in monitor but want something a bit wider, LG is releasing a 45 in OLED Curved Ultrawide on Dec 12th (lg-45gr95qe-b). 3440 x 1440 (84PPI), DCI-P3 98.5%, 240Hz refresh, HDR10.

just so you know 45 inch at 1440p is pretty garbage... atleast for me it whould be to blurry... no offense you can do with your money what you want but for that price (i belive it was 1599$ something abot that) its pretty bad... it whould be nice if it was 34 ~ inch

Do any of the settings allow you to 'shrink' the display area? Say I want to limit the monitor to only show 27" in the middle with black filling in the rest of the monitor space. I googled around but couldn't find a concrete answer, thanks in advance!

If they took this exact design and shrunk it down to 32” or 27” then it would be perfect. Also 1440p 240 or 165hz would be better than 4k at those sizes.

I still use my LG 42in 1080p 3D LED TV for my monitor. I don't game on it so I can't tell the difference in refresh rates for how old this TV. I love the 3D feature still today and I'm pissed off they did away with 3D when the 3D resolution was so bad. Never got the actual full 3D capability from the theaters on your home.
