The flicker issue is 1000% your cable. I also had it on my C2. NOTHING helps for a long time. Not even buying the most expensive HDMI cables. However: It gets 100% fixed if you use an optical HDMI cable! They are not even that expensive (30 bucks on amazon). The actual issue is not gsync or your gpu or your PC or your TV. Its static charge on the electronics that somehow is not properly shielded with LG TVs. They have some sort of fault on their TVs mainboards. Just buy an optical cable like the ones from FIBBR and you will never have any flicker ever again.

You never buy these TVs at launch, the prices very wildly. From what I hear the c4 is actually cheaper at launch than the c3 in regions outside the US. Will be the same story in a year where the C5 comes out, the c4 will be at or even below the c3 price now. Basically better off buying a gen behind every time.

great review. i already have a 42" c2 and anything else would just be a side-grade i feel. i might pick this up on sale as my c2 does have some burn in now (my decision to turn off all the burn in protection lol) and 144hz would be nice but flickering needs to be ironed out. i know there's tons of oled/qd-oled monitors out there now but i love how clean lg's tvs are and you get great value for the money...i know, as i was always upgrading to the latest high end ips gaming monitor back in the day...until i picked up a cx. after 5 minutes i knew ips was dead and i stopped using my "gaming monitor" until i finally replaced it with the 42" c2.

It sounds disappointing that burning does happen.
@Macho_Man_Randy_Savage
@Macho_Man_Randy_Savage 4 ай бұрын
@@haleygao static images over long periods of time will cause burn in. the one thing that really annoyed me about the c2 was the asbl, which caused dimming of the picture in games and regular desktop use. i was forced to turn it off using a service remote. i believe that was the only thing i actually turned off, i also had my brightness to 100% for a bit. after about a year the burn in became noticeable even with a screensaver and being mindful, it's too easy to over expose it with static images during desktop use. maybe if you run it at really low brightness but at that point it's just annoying and not worth it. it is what it is, i think the picture you get is too good to not use an oled. i have since set up different brightness levels for desktop/gaming use. no regrets and i'd turn off asbl again on any newer model if it was ruining my experience.

So you know you cannot access service menu on the c4 anymore. You need a special program on Your PC that can re-enable the service menu, and it's not known when LG will also remove this possibility
@Macho_Man_Randy_Savage
@Macho_Man_Randy_Savage 3 ай бұрын
@@lllongreen good to know. without a service remote i wouldn't have been able to live with the constant dimming so this might influence my purchase, unless the c4 "fixed" it. which sucks because i really like the product.

@@drunkhusband6257 If the C4’s HDMI ports were 144Hz natively, that would mean any device connected to it that can output 144Hz would be able to detect the “native” signal. The reason why LG lists the Refresh Rate as 120Hz “Native” is because there is no need for additional settings or special “effects” to get it to run 120Hz. The fact you have to turn on a special 144hz setting in the menu that ONLY works on PC means that it is not 144Hz native.

I think you’re referring to it being too big for a Gaming Desk Setup. A lot of it depends on viewing distances, size of your desk, and also how you scale the Display. I think whenever you see a huge size bump in TVs or even how phones got so big, the initial reaction is “it’s too big” but when you’re using it for a while, you get used to it. This is how I feel every time I switch screen sizes, takes a few days to get accustomed
