The difference is the MLA technology that makes the picture brighter in the G3. I had a LG C7 65" and upgraded to the LG G3 65" this year. The brightness difference is noticeable, but not worth the money. What was worth the money for me is the significantly improved color uniformity which was horrible on the C7. 5% full field grey is much improved. If you don't have a color uniformity issue on your current LG OLED, do not buy this TV. It's not worth it.

@@AndrewC89 I doubt it. I think the color uniformity was pretty good in the C1. You can check, search youtube for 5% grey, view in a dark room. If you see a lot of vertical banding, especially dark vertical lines then your color uniformity is poor. Another nice feature of the new line I forgot to mention is the audio passthrough. If you have a receiver that supports a wide array of audio sources, this new line is great for that. I don't think you need the G3 to get the passthrough though, check RTINGs review for more info.

I have this to but I can’t get multi view to work, I have one side as KZbin but when I try to set other side as sky to it says it needs tuning in. I select auto tune but it finds no programs. I can’t find a single video on how to set this up. Sooooo frustrating

This is NOT a TV! This is the BESTEST of the BEST monitors you can ever have. MacOS is just perfect on OLED. Crispy clear text, beautiful and fluid UI. My "wall" is my screen, the window travels with me where I sit on the desk, and there is always plenty of space so minimising windows is a thing of the past. Since viewing it on the side does not alter the quality, this is one of the best computer screens you can ever have. Only where you have the window is where you spend energy, all black pixels are for free, in stark contrast to rubbish lcd screens....

When most gamers still think 'TV's will never be as good as a monitor for gaming', I lose brain cells. I have a C1 myself, and while there are some Oled gaming monitors, they also use the C1 and C2 panels while also charging an extra $300 for the same thing minus the TV. I don't think any monitors use the G panels. So I do regret buying my C1 on post C2 launch sale, it was my first Oled and I really should have gone all out for the G2 instead. I plan to wait for my extended 3 year warranty to run, then in 2025 buy a G5 and 5090 GPU which should also be released in 2025. I already have the money saved but am holding out as my current 3080 Ti and C1 are still fine.

@@PorterB Have seen them both, they are perfect. Generally any OLED is much better than anything else. With the CX I have, I am so satisfied, I don't think I'm ever going to buy another monitor again. I have used the service remote to enter the service menu, where I disabled Automatic Brightness Limiter, and also set HDR always on, so this particular monitor now outputs at 650nits!

4K OLED TV's have dropped to under $1,000 when on sale. LG even has their cheaper A series 4K OLED TV's which have dropped as low as $500-$600. If you can't even afford that, you have bigger problems in life.

I have same tv, but I can’t watch sky tv and another app???? I go to multi view set one side as KZbin but the other won’t work with sky tv, it says it need tuning in, I select satellite and auto tune but it finds no programs 😢 there is not one single vid out there explaining what I can do so it’s sooooo frustrating. I’ve had the lg 3g 65 inch for 5 weeks but I can’t use the multiview feature 😢

Love my LG OLED evo G2! But I use my AppleTV with it. Not LG’s smart TV interface. I also use my LG sound bar for sound not the built-in TV sound. But iJustine, you didn’t say anything about what’s the difference between the G2 & the G3?

The main difference is the "MLA" layer on the G3, which helps boost brightness. Unless you're either super rich or currently hating the brightness level on the G2, probably not worth the upgrade.

The 2023 model feature the ability to autocal. Works even better with a calibrator’s toolset but also works well with devices that feature support for the technology. It’s a large selling point for the TV since they have ads targeting the fact that more and more big movie studios are doing reference grading on LG OLED TVs. Disney literally bought thousands of them for their SFX and Image grading teams.
