Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! kzbin.infoUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

I bought one of these last year. It worked great. For four months. Then it broke down and the company informed me it had a three month warranty. If you ask me, eight hundred was way too much to pay for a four month ac unit. Most portable units like this can run 24/7 all year without a problem for years on end. I have a few LG products that I think are great but this one seems to have been a scam.

Bought this and have owned it for about a 1.5 years. I only run it in Cool mode. We live in a dry environment. Saying that, over the past 2 weeks the air suddenly smells like urine. I opened the Dry Mode plug and there was a very small amount of water but it smelled like Urine. The bottom plug did not have any water in it. In fact, never had to deal with water drainage. BUT since I never run it in Dry Mode... it's strange that the Dry Mode drainage plug had a small amount of water and is the source of the Urine smell. HOW do I get rid of the smell and clean it out since it's coming from that drainage plug?

Looking for recommendations on how to use this product- you said you run it for an hour and that keeps the room cool all night? I just installed mine and if I have it set to “cool” on anything higher than 65 degrees it turns off almost immediately. Admittedly it’s a cooler night and probably not the best time to try it out but it’s definitely closer to 70 degrees in here than 65. I assume it will turn back on if it drops below 65, but I haven’t had that happen yet…. Not sure what my question is…. We also have central air but one of the bedroom upstairs just does not cool down enough
@FitsandFun8 ай бұрын
I actually bought another one of these, now I have 2. We set it for one hour in our room, and for 2 hours in the kids room. The compressor will kick off if the room gets too cold and only run the fan, but not the ac. Then the compressor kicks back on when it gets warm. But the machine runs continuously in either fan or cool mode for the set time. And we also have central air set at 74. But yeah, after an hour of running our room feels good all night. Probably depends on the rooms windows, outdoor temp, etc, I'm sure when it's in the mid 80s at night, we'll have to run it more. Maybe an extra hour somewhere in there. But it's very powerful and extremely cold.
@FitsandFun8 ай бұрын
Also, I set mine at 65. It does not have a way to sit idle and start at a certain temp. It has to be running, and it'll alternate between fan only and ac/cool based on the temp. Not sure exactly how accurate the thermostat is for that though. We just basically blast the cold with the timer set, for a little bit and it turns of when we're asleep.

I just purchased the same unit but it didn't come with the window insulation so I tried to make my own until I can have it shipped to me. With that being said it takes the edge off but it doesn't get "cold". Do think it could be due to the cardboard and HVAC tape I used?
@FitsandFun2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size and shape of the room, and what kind of air flow you have. Poor insulation definitely would make it hard to cool a larger room especially if it's really hot outside. If you can literally feel hear coming in around the window instalation then it's a problem.

The drain should be as low as possible. The unit should've been designed a little higher off of the floor.

Yeah, I just unhook the exhaust and unplug the unit then lift it into the bathtub and drain everything. Pretty easy to do every few weeks.

The oval hose collar that attaches to the adjustable window opening is a terrible design. Constantly pops out of the opening (I tried the duck tape also, to no avail). It's a terrible design flaw. They have made a couple generations of tweaks to try and improve the functionality of that collar over the years, but I know people who have brand new units who are still struggling with it. I'm going to gorilla glue mine to the frame. Hopefully that will fix the issue. A new frame and hose assembly is $140 by the way. Completely agree with you about the stupidity of the location of the drain plug. Its awful to have to tilt the entire unit to drain it. Its a two person job. Also the little piece that attachesnthe drain olug to the init snapped off in year two. I've had my unit for 9 years now but it really only gets used for a week or two at most every year. Our aoartment building controls when they turn on our AC. It's always the end of May, and some years it's just way too hot before then in our south-facing apartment. I also purchased antivibration mats to put under the wheels on ours which helps with dampening the noise. With proper filter maintenance and vacuuming of the fins it is still performing really well.

I just purchased this unit on Amazon. Trying to install it and it came in with two 25” panels for window installation. My window is 29” wide. One panel is too short and two of them at the shortest length are too long. What can I do, short of cutting the extension panel. So frustrated, I want to return the unit 😳😤

Any installation kit should work. Especially if you have the main piece on the back that locks to the unit. The hoses and the actual window exhaust can be any brand as long as it can attach to the exhaust on the back of the unit. If that makes sense? Not sure if I'm explaining that right.
