So you want to know how to use the LG service remote? These are the four rules if you need to use the LG Factory service Remote Control.
1. The default password is 0 4 1 3
2. Use the same button you started with to go back.
3. Never change anything you don't understand.
4. Settings take effect after restarting the TV.

A whole year later and IT STILL WORKS!! The new firmware update seems to make it so the Dimming goes back ON whenever you turn off and turn on the TV again, but using this remote and this video as a guide is easy to reset it in a few seconds back to OFF. GREAT!

Try and see if the Hotel Mode setup is active. Disable it and try again, if it still doesn't save then that means that your motherboard has a problem.

In the IN START menu, scroll down to Access code. That's your hotel mode password. You press and hold the MENU/SETTINGS button for 5 seconds until the screen changes. Enter the password and press OK. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmOulYZ4i9StoNk

Hi. In the engineering service menu, system 2, how do you turn USB expert on? its greyed out. I am trying to downgraded firmware but you can only do it using USB expert. The old way of going into the TV menu and pressing the number 7, 7 times, no longer works. Thanks if you know

That is really cruel, especially if they bought one for the 3D capability which has been discontinued! I’m really careful with my LG since it’s irreplaceable. I know about that mode though so at least I’ll know what to do if it ever starts showing the picture upside down!

hello ..good video... I have TV LG oled c15la with big problem ...a small object damaged the display in a small part. Now the TV turns on the relay part, feels the damaged display and the TV turns off. I think it goes in a protective mode. Is it possible to unblock this situation and turn on the TV? Does anyone have detailed descriptions of all of the settings? I have this remote but know not to mess with things when you don't know what you're doing, wondering what all of the adjustments actually do though. (I could just try them myself, but that might mess up my TV beyond recovery.)

Every TV model has its own settings. That's why I recommended taking photos first before doing any changes.

Would this remote work with a LG 39LY560H? I have factory remote--it won't power on the TV. I believe the TV is in hotel hospitality mode. I was told if I had factory remote I can enter code, however I can't even get factory remote to power it on. Please help me in this regard, love your videos! Thanks for your detailed video. I have a question. I got to the Adj menu and wanted to change the country from EU to US. However, when I go to “Area Options” menu, I can’t change the Area Code (currently set to 41058) to the US (1793). Whatever I type is not being registered on the TV. Do you have a solution for this?

What exactly does it do when you change the country? Mine is a US model and while it will accept 50hz signals through HDMI, the EDID does not indicate that it does which causes problems on some equipment.

To "go back" you can also use the "Back" button on the regular TV remote- for some reason this remote doesn't have that button!

It means power only. A way of powering the TV incase some protection elements prevent it from powering ON. I'm working on the video as we speak

Hi Dom... I just bought the service remote and I successfully changed my region without any problems but then as the TV restarted, Auto description/screen reader turned on, which reads everything on the screen and is driving me crazy. I googled how to turn it off and all the solutions said one should turn it of in 'Accessibility' under settings and turning off 'Audio Guidance' option but my TV is not showing that option. Any advice?

Are you not allowing comments on this video? If you can read this, one other thing I want to know is how to set the TV to "Just Scan" during standard-def material. That setting is locked out normally- at 5:31 in this video you can see that the text at the bottom of the screen is partly cut off, because it's likely a standard-def signal or channel and the TV forces a bit of zoom-in. I want to be able to have it display the entire picture with no overscan, which you can do on HD signals.

In my case the channel was in Standard definition and the just scan option doesn't work in SD. The best I could do here is set the aspect ratio to 16:9. The problem was with the channel.

Wish there was a setting somewhere to change that. Vizio TVs are junk but they let you adjust overscan precisely.
