@@Justin-ng6lt if you have the money to get the sub with the sonos bar id go with the sonos but you wont have atmos support with the sonos , its also 2x the price of the sl8yg, id go with the sonos only cuz it has more channels than the sl8yg but, id get the sl9yg or sl10yg over the sonos cuz it has atmos support and more channels and just immerse you more for movies.. theyre also good deals goin on for them for the holidays i tried all of them and ended up sticking with the sl10yg mainly for the better movie experience makes you feel like you have speakers all around you the sl9yg isnt that far behind, but for music the sonos is the better choice, sl8yg is good if you get a good deal on it with your LG tv as a bundle and get the rear speakers to go with it if you get the rear speakers added sl8yg over the sonos for sure !

I have the LG C9 and I’m using a Martin Logan Vision 5.1 sound bar. I haven’t gotten “deep” into sound bars... I’m sure there are a dozen that completely outclass mine however I really like the way it sounds. It has 4 built in mini woofers and 3 folded tweeters. Tough to explain the type of sound it produces but it sounds very clean

I still have my 12 year old 40" Sony Bravia hooked up via an amplifier to a pair of Wharfedale Speakers, I bought in about 1986 and which are still working absolutely perfectly! I'm hoping that when the TV gives up the ghost that any new TV I invest in will still be able to be connected!

Had a full Sony TV/soundbar setup up until a few weeks ago when I treated myself to a Christmas present in the form of the 55 inch version of the TV you have there (LG C9 I believe? Bought the newer model of this bar (SN8YG) and have it connected to my CX OLED. I am pleasantly surprised with it. Games and movies sound awesome. The SN8 also has eARC! I was a bit worried about reading eARC issues with the CX on avsforums, but I have zero issues, and setup took all of 5 minutes to get up and running. I am passing through my NVIDIA shield through the bar, and all of my other inputs are eARC. The best part of it to me is, if your LG OLED is on the stand, it DOES NOT block the bottom of the TV! I was looking at a few other 3.1.2 soundbars, and the LG had the lowest profile. All in all, I am pleased so far.

This series Soundbar is extremely good and powerful. I've found that the rear speakers that are sold separately works very well with this bar and the 2020 SN8YG. More audio and immersive sounds come from the rear speakers with this bar than its 5.1 and 7.1 counterparts. Nice review. Great product.

Yes i just bought an entry level system sl4. It gave a flat audio initially then i installed an equilizer app and gave its frequency a v shape adjustment..man it bears high power beats ...and connected to my pc via optical cable..again it was flat then i installed apo equiliser it blast out my room..wonderful..and through optical its crystel clear and instrument seperation, treble and bass are phenomenal!!!

Connect the Xbox HDMI port to your soundbar HDMI. Arc port on the soundbar to any HDMI port on your TV except for the Arc port on your TV. If you do, the Arc port from your soundbar to the TV Arc port won't read Dolby Atmos or DTSX. The soundbar must be on HDMI and go back to your TV setting and change the sound to Arc. I have tHE LG SN8YG summer 2021 model. I use it on my Xbox series S, my tv doesn't support Dolby Atmos or Dolby vision just the soundbar. Almost forgot I brought the Dolby atmos app went to the home theater setting and it was ready to use with no more error or go back to your console setting.

i just noticed that my sound is consistently dimming then deepening, almost in a slow motion wave. Now i have TV volume, sound bar volume as well as android box volume. is there a proper way to set these individual volume controls so they work together properly?

Brilliant video as always Paul! I wish TV makers could make a TV with a sound bar built in and / or just have an external subwoofer. For instance, if you look at the gap behind your tv and the wall, their is more than enough space for decent built in speakers to be built in. Hand on heart, when was the last time you said to anyone, look how thin the panel is, the panel thickness is not important, the picture and sound is! As great as a sound bar may be, a beautiful TV starts to look messy quickly with boxes and wires all over the place! For the price also, they should of been able to fit a decent display in, nothing worse than a scrolling display over a few characters, just looks a cheap short cut! Even though I had a bad experience with box, I’m glad they sent you the tv and bar to review! They should let you keep them, after all, who would want a second hand tv! Keep up the great videos Paul!

I agree that it would be better to have a slightly thicker TV and better sound. Sometimes manufacturers chase thinness but at the cost of other just import areas.Look at phones for example,i expect most people would rather have an extra 1-2mm of thickness if it meant a bigger longer lasting battery.

In the sound settings put it this way, if not you get audio delay with Dolby. Hdmi Arc Digital (passthrough) instead of Auto EARC set it to on.

Glad I could, help. Tons of people are getting delay through the sets. This is the only solution I have found to fix it. I still get audio delay only with KZbin on game consoles, and only while running dolby bitstream, this is either KZbin app on consoles needing a update or internet issues. I'd presume this because everything else works great.

I have a fairly new LG OLED 55B9PUA TV with a Vizio SB3651-E6 sub and additional speakers which is connected via HDMI(ARC) that provides nice 5.1 sound. Several times a day it will switch to the TV + optical and I have to reset the HDMI ARC selection. MY sound settings are all off and mode is standard sound out HDMI ARC, AV Sync Off Audio Input PCM (other choice bitstream). The solution from LG was unclear. Your review was the reason I bought the this LG OLED Model and we love it! I am still trying to resolve this issue myself.

You can only get Atmos with eARC not regular arc or connecting a device directly into the soundbar such as a firestick 4k, Roku etc

This tv has full hdmi 2.1 EARC passthrough for sound formats the tv can decode, but the tv doesnt passthrough DTSX. You need to run direct to your soundbar for DTSX. The bar itself doesnt have EARC.

Did you buy? I just installed this and am finding the audio to be terrible, worse than my OLED TV’s built in speakers. Tinny and hollow sounding - no bass and barely any mids. I didn’t install the sub yet, but if that improves things I’m not sure why I would spend so much on this instead of just buying a sub with my better sounding tv speakers.

Great review there Paul, seems like your getting the moneys worth with that soundbar. We’ve had an LG soundbar and wireless sub for the last 3/4 years with our LG tv, got it soon after we got the tv. It’s been brilliant and still working fine to this day, so they seem very reliable aswell. The setup and how it operates is identical to the one in this video. And it takes around 1/2 seconds for the sub to kick in aswell. I will always stick with LG sound bars(if I want another) as they work flawlessly together with the tv and as you pointed out the tv remote volume also controls the soundbar, and it turns on and off with the tv, so the only time you need the soundbar remote is if you want to change sound modes, the other functions can be done using the touch buttons. So my remote is in a cupboard upstairs as I never need to change anything on it that can’t be done with the touch buttons. The less things my daughter can get her hands on the better! The only thing I wish you can do is completely turn off the front digital display on the soundbar, but it’s not really too distracting in the evening, especially if you don’t watch the tv in complete darkness. Mine has got a dim function so it dims the display abit, but I’d definitely turn it off if I could. I expect that newer expensive one in the video is the same too.

I bought the 2019 LG 75' nanocell TV along with this 2019 soundbar and for the life of me I can not get the two to link up fur real time voice. The delay ruins the whole experience even if it sounds good. Not sure of its the TV or soundbar but the delay is frustrating

@@elvisacosta645 I never did, we dont use the Soundbar for movies. My kids use it when watching animated movies when they think about turning it on. On a side note, it might the 2019 LG nanocell series TV I bought, this thing has been a nightmare as well. The picture quality is very poor. LG will not stand by either product, so this is the last time I will ever buy a LG product. My experience with LG as a whole has been bad. Cheers from Texas! 🍻

Byron Smith Thanks for replying.I also have a 2019 Nano cell 8 series with the same sound bar.We got it for black Friday for 479.00.Price wise, i think it was OK and sound wise, in my opinion for our game room size its a big upgrade we can feel the rumble and all that good stuff but we also notice a slightly delay of about a second .Ive tried everything as well but i haven’t been able to address it either...

I have been wanting to buy a lg soundbar since I have a lg c1 tv. I figure it's best to buy a lg soundbar. I have owned tv about 8 months now and have had a hard time deciding which soundbar to buy. I think this is the one I want to purchase.. So thanks for the great review... I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO HAVE THE SETTINGS THAT YOUR TV IS USING.. the picture on your TV looks incredible. I don't feel like my lg tv has the same vibrant colors as yours. But I am a novice when it comes to this stuff, even though I have done tons of research and I have learned alot! I still am not sure what motion setting is best, for someone who does not do gaming and strickly uses TV to watch tv.. It's so hard to find much info for people like myself who does not use a Playstation, Nvidia or anything similar.. I watch TV with my TV and wish there were videos on KZbin geared for people like me who would like educated on the best settings, without using a gaming console.. I am sure there are plenty of people out there, like me, who could care less about settings for gaming consoles. But it seems every KZbin tutorial is geared towards YOUTH, and leaves us old school people lagging behind... I love your channel, and use it alot to educate myself. i whanted a soundbar but my ru7172 has bigger speekers si i don t need a soundbar , the sound problem from a tv o a wall is that the sound can t reflect in nothing if u had it on a desk or table the sound will more powerfull

The C9 has alot of future proof features with hdmi 2.1. It's best to buy the Belkin or Laser ultra high speed hdmi 2.1 cables for best connection. I own the 65 C9 and a SL10YG.

Yes indeed, for the money and quality, LG just wins by a long shot. Their customer service is excellent too I been watching your videos a while, they are extremely well done, very informational about all the products. You have a excellent and honest channel going here. SUBSCRIBER FOR LIFE! I was on the fence about going with LG, I was originally looking at the Panasonic GZ2000 and a Klipsch bar 54A. The truth of it was that though those items are exceptional in their own right, LG costs much less with everything, and you get so much more for your money. LG C9 has beaten the GZ2000 in many important areas The future proofing with LG C9 is just staggering, it was also something other tv makers just did not offer. The C9 has a 13ms input response with gaming, none of the competition in any tv market offers this. The hdmi 2.1 works seemless with Xbox One, VRR is just incredible. This set is no slouch with PS4 either, and with PS5 supporting hdmi 2.1 it too will reap rewards to early adopters well into next gen. I game more than watch films, I never watch tv really, so it was a no brainer which set to buy in the end. Your video unboxing of the LG C9 really left a lasting impression as well in helping me make my final choice. It intrigued me enough to make me really do my homework on the sets, and look objectively at all my options. HDR10+ and THX certification couldn't win over the variety you get with LG. I couldn't be more happy with my choice.

Im not sure, I use the tv, straight passthrough using HDMI 2.1 EARC. Im using Laser HDMI 8k 2.1 cables. super high speed. I will check for you.

It has HDR passthrough, but..._ If you have the C9, you are better to passthrough your audio out of the tv to the bar, especially if you use a Xbox X, the SL10YG doesn't support hdmi 2.1 (vrr, auto low latency ect) features at all if you run through it. You will also want to get the add on rear wireless speaker kit by LG. I have listened to it with and without, and the rears make a HUGE difference in immersion. I really am extremely happy with the set, and the audio from the bar. I do think the next set of bars will have full 2.1 hdmi, but I wouldn't wait, just use passthrough from your tv .

When i bought my LG Oled B7 i had to change AV for hdmi input/output and set to 5.1.2 but only using 5.1 to get Atmos and now Dolby vision and Atmos is great but can be awkward to get setup. Subwoofer should have adjustments for volume and crossover 180. AV has a distance for speakers and an auto setup with mic. Never liked sound bars as all they are are front speaker, but ok for small room with less space Normal Hdmi cable wont work with Atmos it has to be high speed cable for Arc to work

I have a Sonos beam with 2 Sonos surround speakers, but it does not have atmos! My brother in law had this soundbar and it sounds amazing. Thinking of buying this soundbar before it disappears from stores. Am I mad for swapping? Love your videos 👍

Problem solved. I'm pleased with the soundbar but not wowed by it. Atmos sound is not noticeable and adjusting the speaker volumes independently has no effect whatsoever.

Greetings! If this is a Dolby Atmos soundbar, then why in the TV settings is the eARC parameter in the OFF position? After all, it is eARC that allows you to transmit Dolby Atmos. The standard ARC cannot transmit Dolby True HD and Dolby Atmos ...

When playing Atmos Atmos content you really noticed a difference as it gave the feeling of a much larger soundstage,both in height and width,but I wouldn't say it felt like a chopper was hovering over my head.

thanks for the detailed video, at around 18.47 you showed sound settings of the tv, in there you have AI sound (disabled) and Dolby Atmos (enabled) had you enabled AI sound would it make it better?

Did you test the dialogue mate? Or anyone with this unit that can advise? I’ve tried a few soundbars but dialogue when watching normal tv seems really lacking and muffled with almost zero bass at low volumes, but I have no issues with my 6+ year old soundbar and sub setup. I need a little help, google homme on my iphone doesn't find wifi and there is a lot around several networks, the phone sees all wifi normally. Even after manually entering wifi google homme does not connect. I have no idea what to do, the only thing left to do is replace it with another router.

Thanks for the review, I will get one of these myself for my LG TV. Can you tell me how to find the Dolby app? I think it may now only be available in the USA, and when I try to change my location (following directions in one of you other videos) I am restricted to EU countries.
