BUYER BEWARE... I’m a appliance/HVAC tech. I’ve install LG compressors, boards, I/M’s, WV, fan motors to the RC FC, Disp. Boards, ETC. LG Fridges are POS. I WILL NEVER SPEND MY HARD EARN MONEY ON LG REFRIGERATORS. Class action law suit on the LG compressors. Garbage product. Seen customers cry to me about compressors failures. Business wise is great (sorry) due to covid all MFG are not keeping up with the demand of producing all major brand appliances. So business in the service repair is great.

My POS LG didn't make it 5 years, the Whirlpool it replaced was still running at 25 years

@@caseyfike226 just don’t get Maytag or whirlpool you will be lucky get 2 years for the board to fail, had 2 dishwashers by Maytag to replace right after warranty is out, ge is pretty good got a washer and dryer still working lol

Just stay away from maytag and whirlpool there trash, had two maytag dishwashers main boards go out right after the 1 year warranty went out and I got a friend bought a brand new whirlpool washer something. Ge is pretty good tho I got a washer and dryer still running good and there 11 years old. But all this new crap they build not going last anyways nomatter what brand it is just like new vehicles.

I have a failed compressor on an LG LFX31945ST /06 refrigerator, which was manufactured in October of 2013. I am wanting to replace the compressor with the universal replacement, which requires the software update on the PCB. I read somewhere that PCB boards manufactured prior to 2014 may not accept software updates. Any ideas on whether this is true, and which software update version a person needs for their specific PCB? My PCB shows two model numbers: EBR752347 & EBR730936.

If I install a factory compressor which non universal compressor , do i need to update the software ? and one more question , how do i know which updater do i need for control board v8.3 , v8.5 or v8.7 ?

When that happens it means there is no software on the sd card that is in the jig. You have to go online and download it to the jig. Then it will work

Thanks for the video. I have Been 8.7 and just replaced a fc75lbna with a fc075LANA. The jig won't discover the board and load it. I found another set of directions to force load but the jig doesn't have my boards model number. I'm at a loss. Worried now I should have replaced the board instead of the compressor. Any thoughts?

I bought a Rewriter from Ebay (firmware version 8.8). My fridge was built in 2014, and my PCB board model number is (ERB770425). My attempt to upgrade failed. The writer display was showing information about Panasonic and Toshiba. Within 3 - 5 minutes, the display then says " Failed.....remove from device and try again ". Maybe for my Board, I need a firmware with version (8.3 or 8.5).

@@Carbon_Fiber Unfortunately No !! My board is not capable of being upgraded, because of the year of manufacture. Luckily, I was able to find an exact Compressor model as the old one, installed it, and all is working again. I will go a few more years with this LG, before I buy something else.

You have to be an LG certified appliance company. It’s not for consumer purchase. Not all LG models require a software update. If it does need a software update the fridge must have a compressors failure. The compressor will be a third GEN COMPRESSOR that require the software update pending on the model number of the fridge. The new compressor will be labeled a software update is required with all the needed instructions and the certified tech will installed the software update permitting if the PCB does accept the software.

Excellen video. WHERE CAN I BUY AN 8.7 UPDATER. i just bought one on ebay and it cost over $100 and it will not work.Do I need to be connected directly to the internet or does this device run off satellite or some other network? The fridge just had a new compressor put in it but it won't run. Updater says insert SD card?????
