Sorry, I no longer have this LG V60 ThinQ, I had to return it back to T-Mobile. However, there should be a way to customize the lock screen widgets via Notifications, under settings. Or... Perhaps, someone will respond 😁

Yes,my v30 have the same light notification and you can set your clock in the middle or in upper left corner.

I’m a new V60 ThinQ 5G owner and I enabled this feature day 1 or 3 and just now saw this video. I’ve never seen it actually light up until my tests tonight... After this video. 😂 Love this phone and the Stylus that I have to play on it. Great video. Wish you could have kept it.

LG V60 ThinQ was still my favorite phone from 2020 and I even liked better than the Moto Razr, Microsoft Duo foldable tablet, and the sister phone called the LG Wing. @@PeterHerget the fingerprint reader is a toy daily. Sad I know. 🤩 My gadget guy friend just realized, thanks to me, that the icon could be changed. He’s had it over a year I think. Haha. Anyhow, I have loved it since LG posted loads of photos over a year ago on their IG page. I was immersed that far back but never thought more on it until my beloved HTC U11+ volume rocker and power button died on me. I can never turn it off/on unless I pay dearly. Anyway, this was my first choice and have been so happy with it. Thank you for your reply. I corrected my wee am errors in my opening post. Oooops.

@@PeterHerget still have mine. I accidentally, thought I, tossed it on to the work truck seat... Gasping for air as I type this... It fell straight down to the cement and the dual screen case shattered badly. Long story short, sold that one on eBay and picked up another one, gently used, there and LG life is still grand. I can't believe how incredibly expensive these cases still are this many years later.

Thanks! I read through the tutorials and didn't find this "Sidelight" feature. I do enjoy, okay, love to find cool, quasi hidden features on devices that are not obviously documented. The Samsung Galaxy phones used to have a similar feature, alas, I think it was killed off years ago. The Galaxy Note II - it as quite the smartphone and I had it for over a year before returning to an iPhone for another five years. I already returned the LG V60 ThinQ and I miss many of the features. I'll be posting my final thoughts very soon, much editing to do still. My daily device is the newly released iPhone SE 2020, yeah, huge changes from the LG Android experience...

The way to change the color in brief notifications is to go to settings then screen color then color temperature. Once there slide along the color temperature bar to the color you want to show up in your brief notification.

Found this by accident yesterday. Just turned it on for SMS but Im antisocial so no one texts me lol. Still wasnt sure what it actually did. Now i know. I was actually looking for exactly what you did with your smart watch. My V20 was set up so if GPS saw I was home my screen would not lock, if i was connected via blue tooth to my watch or headphones my screen would not lock. I can not find that in my settings anywhere on the v60. NM: Found where to add locations and devices to keep it unlocked

@@PeterHerget sadly the light ring briefing alerts dont work when the duel screen case is closed. As Im falling asleep if i hear my phone vibrate it would of been nice to see if I had a glow indicating a SMS. If not i could assume it was a less important alert. Had my wife text a few times to see if it worked. Shocked to see mine was yellow (with case open) and not blue. I added IG to the list. When I got a message from there it was blue. Hopefully they add the ability to select specific colors for alerts. But i won't hold my breath

I think the light changes based on the app that it's notifying about. Cause my will be blue for messenger and there has been other times it will flash yellow. So far those are the only colors I've seen so far. But I also don't have many set up for it either.

If you switch to a different text messaging app, you'll get the blue color. The one I'm using is "messages". I imagine it would be the same with other texting apps.

The light will change colors depending on which notification tagged (ie: messaging, text message, email etc) each one will give a different color. I don't know if you can set the colors but it will auto give you one.

@@PeterHerget call screen is a feature that comes on all google certified devices. Unknown number or possible spam number calls call screen would kick in . It would require them to announce them selves with a message with would be transcribed and sent to you as a message for answer or end.

WOW! That is very interesting... I'll be honest, I had a difficult time returning the LG V60 ThinQ Dual Screen 5G smart gadget, and I would like to get another. Alas, my three weeks were up and I had to return back to T-Mobile or keep it for the next two years. They were very, very kind though allowing me to keep it, test it, and use it every day for four weeks. If I still had it I would do further testing about the "blue" light and to see why or how your notification is yellow. thanks for sharing J W

Different colors could be a invitation to the user if it an App or someone you know notifying you. Just my thoughts

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 - sound is great, is has the cinematic view, I can easily spice together clips and post them quickly, and yes, the folding/portability factor is epic! 2. GoPro HERO10 Black - outdoor and action stuff; however, I am testing the newly released Insta360 One RS camera next month and the initial reviews are quite positive. My GoPro HERO10 had to be shipped back for it kept overheating.

Hooray! I really enjoyed making this video and testing the LG V60. Over a year later, yeah, it would have been awesome to have kept it. I've typed this out in public before, yes, I would like to keep every gadget I test, review, use, nearly break, and then test some more on my channel. Alas, it is not possible at this time. I return the ones that are broken or miss-represented, and sell the ones I like. I have been lucky enough to have a few companies "loan" me devices for one month or a matter of weeks. I was quite fortunate with the LG V60 ThinQ for nearly five weeks and it was difficult to send it back. I was scheduled to receive another and then the promotion feel through due to COVID-19 and marketing budgets with LG. I nearly scored an LG Velvet, nope, that deal fell apart too. Brief notification comes with LG OLED panel model. LCD panel didnt have this feature i think since OLED panel lights up individual pixel for brief notification feature. Try check yours of you havent. Im using V40 and using app named "Borderlight" and its awesome 😍

I have a V60. And HOW do I stop the non-stop notifications on the gesture navigation or the button navigation? I like the button option over gestures but I get non-stop vibrations and animation on the circle button? I've turned off all my notifications yet that circle button keeps vibrating and animating. the only time they're off is in do not disturb mode... am I the only one who has this happening?

Darn! Persistent notifications sure can be a bother! I no longer have that model of LG smartphone, sorry. I would recommend chatting with an LG representative or visit a Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or other brick storefront for help. I have font my local Verizon or T-Mobile corporate stores have been quite helpful over the years for quick questions.

SO glad you liked it! I would imagine that LG could easily release an update allowing users to change the "glow" colour so it is not always blue. That being said, blue is a cool colour especially at night or in low-light situations. Thank you for watching my videos!

I was surprised not to find that for there are many Android phones that utilize the flash just like iPhones. I feel smartphones using the camera flash to help notifications be seen when not heard, or cannot be heard should be a standard feature for all phones or least newer ones from the past two years. I have a friend with hearing problems and they wear an Apple Watch for they cannot hear their smartphone ringer. Smart watches can be wonderful accessories, alas, one more thing to charge. I should not talk though for I have two smartwatches and two smartphones 🤪😎🙂 And this explains the Gadgets Anonymous brand, Facebook Page, eccetera....

Sorry, Mike, I went to a T-Mobile store a few weeks ago to discover the exact steps I used to enable this feature and the LG V60 ThinQ was in a special demo mode and those settings were locked down. I asked the clerk to turn off demo mode, and he said, “sure, just buy one.”

I visited a Sprint Store yesterday and tried to figure it out using the demo model of the LG V60 ThinQ, alas, since it was a store front, the LG V60 was stuck in "DEMO MODE" and it would not allow me to browse around the settings. For the price right now it isn't bad, but I don't blame you for looking elsewhere, esp. since lg no longer in mobile. I'm pretty happy with my phone and still no issues taking it in and out of the dual screen, although I do tend to handle my electronics gently. (I'm always afraid of breaking it lol) The dual screen is nice, but I like the phone for the battery and the quad dac mainly.

That was a... GREAT questions Joy! If your LG smartphone supports more than one color it can be adjusted within the same settings as this hidden feature. I had to return my LG V60 ThinQ, alas, I should be getting a new one later this month.
