Wait, why say "refuses to kill the headphone jack" like it's a bad thing? It's literally the feature that pushed me away from Apple and into the arms of Android (Note9). But with Samsung ditching the jack, I'm now primarily seeking the few flagship devices that still maintain this one (IMO) critical feature.

Alexander Sinco 120Hz displays, 5G modems and antennae, and more cameras drive the price up significantly. I’m sure apple had a part to play in it too, but you can’t ignore the fact that the cost of those parts didn’t go down like other things may have. if you google the BOM (bill of materials) for a specific phone series you’ll see how the prices for components went up over time

Great coverage of the LG V60 ThinQ, but, just a few things I like to point out. LG didn't miss the boat with not adding the QHD Display and the pointless High Refresh Rate, this was intentional for price accommodation, who cares if other OEMs added that? That's them, this is LG, they're going on a different path, and you and others may not agree with that path, but accept it. "Refuses" isn't the right word to use when talking about the headphone jack, "perpetrating" is, when you use the word "refuse" in this context, it gives the impression that LG is stuck in the past and not embracing what other OEMs are doing and not following suit, not that that's what you stated, but, it gives an implication by your "refuse" statement. You have to understand that there has to be tradeoffs to compliment the below 1000$ price tag. Also the syllables in the LGV60 ThinQ 5G is 4, while Samsung's Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G is 7, so the name of the LGV60 ThinQ 5G isn't a "super long name", I don't see why alot of Reviewers point out something so trivial. I don't think a phone needs something major to stand out for it to be a worthy contender, it can be just a great device with a snappy performance, with practicality in mind, and that's major if you ask me, not some useless high refresh rate and QHD Display that'll be detrimental to the battery, LG took a conventional approach with this one, and I think they're off to an awesome start! Other than that, solid review.

Probably the same reason 144 and 240hz gaming displays exist. Smoother scrolling, animations, and gaming apps that wanna go beyond just 60fps The complaint against battery life and/or performance is the same argument people had about QHD displays when just Full HD would suffice, now Full HD seems like a relic even though even the most discerning eyes would have a hard time appretiating QHD

I just have to point this out, simply because it shows up in every video I think I've ever seen regarding the V60. It's "super long" name. Well, yeah, it's going to be long if you call it the "LG V60 ThinQ 5G" every time. But so would the "Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G", if that's how you said it. But in "S20 Ultra" reviews, that is largely what they call it and never mention anything about the name. So can we all just move on and start calling this thing by a name that most people will use anyway? The "V60".

(but i'm holding on to my V10.. one day it will be a collectors item..!! .)... on and off over the years i've had offers from folks who were crazy enough to offer me up to $800 cash for my V10.... because they are hard to find now...and they knew what it could do / has done...from way back in 2015... Hell, LG should do a "remake" of the V10.. call it a ..."V10-Retro"....(like carmakers do..i.e. dodge challenger, charger, etc.)..... and load it up with today's best chipset, a 865+...have a nice 90-120mhz. screen refresh.. ...a 16gb/512gb storage package...have it to look like the old V10.... and it'd sell like no tomorrow........

Firstly fully hd+ is enough for such small size screen and good they didn't add any gimmick. Secondly 5000mah battery is enough for dual screen that's good Third camera and microphone is outstanding and way more improved then previous models Fourth it is one of its kind and so incomparable. Fifth its price also low campared to other flagships out there. Today microsoft is also going towards these concept When coming to india kindly make dual sim support.

👍Thanks for the reply. I have the Lg v60 and the note 10 plus. I was surprised how good the v60 screen is even though it's not qhd. I'm having trouble deciding which phone to keep. I feel like the Samsung has better software with more options. More gesture options and also full customization through apps like good lock. Some software quirks on lg for instance I can't watch full screen on the Hulu app. The Lg is a nice phone just not sure yet if I will keep it over the note 10 plus. Tough call.

I can answer why LG didn't go for a 120hz or a 1440p display--I mean, aside from this purely being a novelty spec for 2020 flagships (simply because Samsung did it...like 16GB of RAM and the 100+MP Super Zoom)--and that is because of the SECOND SCREEN attachment, which is a key feature of this device. Not only would it drive the price up, but it would have been a significant drain on the battery to power TWO 120hz displays (especially if they are 1440p). I haven't really invested a lot of time in the KZbin tech world until fairly recently. But this trend (do I call it that?) that I'm witnessing with personalities lacking the ability to logically put the pieces together is kind of shocking. I mean, this is what you guys likely do for a living, right? So why does it feel like so many of you just look at a spec sheet and determine "good" or "bad" based on who has the higher number? Look, I love my Samsung Note9. But it blows my mind that so many KZbinrs will look at the spec sheet that Samsung JUST rolled out and anything that doesn't match up spec for spec is somehow seen as much worse. I mean, why does every flagship device need to be crammed with useless price driving features? A 120hz display is largely just going to deliver a slightly smoother scrolling experience. Is that worth it? What about an ultra high megapixel camera? Is it going to be used for more than that first week when you test out it's zoom capabilities? For most people, likely not. And then, screen to body ratio. I've seen so much about this phone's "thick bezels". Huh? In what world are these "thick"? Thicker than Samsung? Sure. But these aren't iPad "thick", these are more like iPhone 11 "thick". I dunno, nice video though. Just had to vent a little. Heh.

I agree with you on the tech KZbinrs but LG V60 should've at least 90 hz display at 1080 once you use it you can't go back to 60hz

@@LOUISVILLECARDINALS Again, Dual Screen attachment. 1080p/60hz is more than functional for most users. Higher resolution and refresh deplete battery and anything screen related has to be doubled with the Dual Screen accessory.

@@jeffreybowens: Thanks for the reply. So few channels bother. But: 1.) You know what they say about "assuming." If not, ask your Mom. For example, Samsung's only repair facility in the west is in eastern Canada. No phone company from mainland China repairs anywhere but back at the factory in China. Check for yourself. 2.) No, not all companies repair to factory specs. Specifically, Samsung does not. 3.) This LG running android 10 can be rooted using Magisk™? Please verify! This would be unusual and this is important when making purchase decisions. 4.) Augmented Reality? Thanks. I'll ddg it.

ppl really missed the potential of these things, You could really get by with one of these if you were a student, make "content" to earn some free gear with the phones cameras/mic.....play games like cod mobile or pub g mobile with friends in between classes with a BT controller even supports keybord/mouse with BT on the duel screen. Either way being able to play something like that in transit or on a rail where there isnt too much movement is pretty nuts. You can read/work on one screen while watching a game stream/ or a friend stream while in discord, while also streaming music. Able to mix the audio in the apps themselves+on the eq device bound. Even at work on down time reading up on sports news to do some wire picks for fantasy or daily fantasy to read up on some injury/scouting reports. While watching HULU/YT etc IDK thats a huge deal to me im also going to miss having a job where i had that flexibility and being payed to be on call. Id recommend one of these if you were going on a long trip working somewhere remote for a short period of time etc....You can get some good Vids/pics and play/run out of a device like this too bad they are out of the phone game...I listen to music from my phone and really value the audio quality LG brought to the table. Not to hyped about 4k resolutions ETC on phones or high refresh bc im not an avid phone gamer but do travel at times. The duel screen makes discord and reading/watching vids at the same time really convenient being able to swap the keyboard from duel screen to single/etc. The smaller resolution surely helped and lower HZ with battery life which is more valuble to me for music/content consumption overall or discord calls.

i love LG phones, had G4 in the past, recently bought V35 for 250$ refurbished for my mother it's also great, but camera is poor.. I mean sensor was too small and F1.6 didn't help much. It has a lot of features, i love manual video at 4k 60fps log and 80mpbs, ofc my mother doesn't use that. But low light performance is poor, and couldn't find working gcam for this phone, to fix that. But what do you mean Best "Budget" Flagship ? What that word "Budget mean ?? it's 800$ phone and that's a lot. I would consider my current Xiaomi k20 pro 8gb ram variant which i got for 320$ new a Budget Flagship, or refurbished LG V50 which can be found for under 400$ as budget flagship.
