I would tell them leave the little adapter attached to your headphones so you don't lose it. Or keep your old phone just for music which is what I did with my LG g7 and I really only use that for trips when I'm in a hotel just like I only need a wired headphone connection if I'm on a long flight with a connection. The sound quality of GOOD Bluetooth headphones is so good now you don't need the wire. You really notice a huge difference in sound with even Bluetooth when you turn the sound engine on

I truly wish LG would have hung in there. Like any smartphone company there’s a lot to love and…. hate about their products. But they brought quite a few ideas to the table - this, being a fascinating one, with which future development could muster up a faithful following of a solid product. Granted, the big 3 of Sammy, Google, and Apple were tough competition for LG and Sony as well - I just hated to see LG finally throw in the towel. I’m sure many will say “the writing was on the wall” - and there’s no denying the nuggets of truth in that statement it’s just hard to see them fold to the likes of Samsung, focus on the pixels of their TV’s rather than stay in the ring against Google’s lineup, and prove to Apple that immediate invitation isn’t always a bad thing vs. making the consumer wait forever for interesting, and even useful features in a phone. (This coming from someone who uses an iPhone as their daily driver) Oh well, it’s obviously true that just because you have wings doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll fly.

The V35's display has made me never want to switch from oled or 1440p, and the cameras are truly stunning, even to this day.

LG phones were FANTASTIC!! One of my favorite phones to use was an LG. Screw Samsung’s poor attitude to hardware and software which somehow has not toppled THEIR phone business yet. So if I understand it correctly the gimbal mode has nothing to do with the way this phone is built. It's just a software feature that you could put into any conventional smartphone with an ultrawide camera. The reason why it's so blurry is because all the phone does is it crops out a relatively small portion of the whole image being captured by the sensor and uses software stabilization to keep that portion stabilized. So there is no way to make it record in 4k, unless you put an 8k sensor into the phone, which would allow it to crop the image down to 4k and apply software stabilization.

It's a shame we won't get an LG Wing 2. I would have liked to see a thicker phone with a slightly larger battery, a headphone jack (with quad DAC), SD card support, and faster face unlock or finger print sensor on the back of the phone. If I could get that, I would find a nice leather/hard&grip case and glass screen protector and love the phone until it stopped working.

Others, perhaps due to their inclination towards other major brands, more or less bashed the idea and LG. But your review is truly balanced and not looking just one way. Thanks again for it. This concept seems so much more useful to me than an awkwardly shaped folding screen. Let's be honest, most of us do use our phones for media consumption, not work. And that is where folding phone aspect racios fall apart for me. Like a Galaxy fold barely delivering a bigger video frame than a normal 2020 sized phone and so on. This solves the biggest problem with watching stuff on a phone, the multi tasking part. And does so absolutely great! Man I love LG, they have always pioneered new trends but never got much recognition fot it..

I like how your hair is slowly turning into a soft-serve curl. Also, I'm still mad at myself for not getting the LG Flex back in 2014, which I found to be oddly pleasant on the eyes in portrait mode when I test drove it in the store. I'm mostly sold on the Wing, here-as long as someone more experienced with LG phones can provide some anecdotes or info on how often they update their software. Sorry to edit, I just feel the need to to clarify something. When I say I found the LG Flex to be "pleasant on the eyes", I don't mean that it looked good sitting on a table or something. I mean that, for me, the curved display actually made the experience of using the phone more inviting to my eyes. At arm's length, the curve was just right, so that all of the text on the screen was facing directly at me. On a normal screen the text subtly takes on distortion following perspective lines on parts of the screen not facing directly at you, but the curved screen gets rid of some of that. It sounds really stupid, me typing it all out like this, but the effect in person was really compelling. To me, at least.

For removing residue left behind by stickers, use rubbing alcohol. Put some on and leave it for a bit (maybe a minute or under) and it slowly eats the glue. As you wipe the area after it has been treated the glue comes off in chunks, leaving this surface clean with no hard scrubbing.

Can they run in wing mode; does the controls move to the square display or if not, does LG include a virtual gamepad same like they did for their dual screen accessories on previous phones?

we've already had phones with screens that could move in more than 1 way. that's what LG should have done side-by-side: the screen slides out to give you 2 full-size screens next to each other, the way the case works wing mode: the screen swivels out the way it does here, to give you a horizontal screen with a vertical one poking out of its side

As an owner of the wing ill say the screen can be damaged way too easily thankful that I have the mouse pad because that's how I now text because the top and bottom screens are cracked and I cannot use them it's too bad it's something that helped make LG go out of business

I used LG V30 + for past 2.5 years and loved it. The camera, HiFi-Quad DAC, display and ceramic built, military and IP86 water resistant are few of the key features. I will definitely but LG Wing if they had newer/latest processor, better camera and battery. Also instead of pop-up camera, they should've added front cam in the swivel display part. Apart from these downsides, LG Wing is awesome. I wish LG have made Wing 2 with latest Snapdragon Processor, more RAM, better battery, much more versatile camera system, and IP68 water and dust resistance, I will be on the line to have my hands on it first. FYI: my current device is Huawei P30 Pro.
