Whenever I watch LGR, I find video I have not yet seen, awesome!
@LGR14 жыл бұрын
@2computer1 Yeah I meant to mention that. The antagonist behind all sorts of stuff in the game is named Omigosh. The thing shown in the video is "Not-Omigosh". It's great.

Holy smokes. I just remembered this little gem from my childhood, before remembering you made a review of it, Clint. Hard to believe its been 6 years.

Upon re-watching your earlier videos, I have to say this is one of my favorites. You've nailed the humor here, and all of your deliveries hit the mark pretty much perfectly. The video is also very educational, as I had to look up Dagon and inadvertently learned about another ancient deity ;) I never played Paganitzu, but even without any nostalgia for it you made me want to try the game out. Thanks!

I played this game 16 years ago and loved it, and since then have wanted to play it again so much, but could not for the life of me remember the name. You seriously don't know how happy you've made me!!

Damn. I would have never thought I'd play the game but looking at the this video, memories! I had forgotten that I had played this game but I have! I love your videos because they bring back my childhood!

@kinmanyuen Boulderdash, without the physics/gravity system. It does have a very similar method of gameplay otherwise, and as such I found it more comparable to Chip's Challenge rather than Boulderdash, Repton and the like.

We had this on our school computer's in middle school. I remember fondly playing this once I completed by lessons.

Paganitzu, Xargon, and SimCity 2000 comprised a bulk of my gaming childhood. This was my first "real" game and thus will always be super nostalgic. My little 8 year old head could beat about 17 of the 20 rooms. I wrote to Apogee and they sent me back with cheat codes to skip the levels I couldn't beat. A few years l buckled down and was able to figure out all the rooms. The last one to be solved was room 19 (I think). The one where you had to part the "Red C." Wanted to break the keyboard over that one.

@hoques1432 It is, it's from one of the C64 Indy games, can't remember which

Fun Fact: Indiana Jones was originally called Indiana Smith, but Steven Spielberg asked to change it to Jones before filming started on Raiders. I wonder what the protagonist of Paganitzu would be called if they went with Indiana Smith for Raiders? Alabama Jones? It sounds like a Jazz singer.
@LGR14 жыл бұрын
@VintageJunior Well, I'm just going on what the game setup and documentation itself refers to as "16-color EGA, compatible with VGA", but yeah I know - considering nobody should give a crap about what's technically CGA+ in a simple review of a simple puzzle game I don't think technicalities are worth mentioning in a short video, so calling it EGA should suffice :D

"Playing Paganitzu more often than not is like dating an intelligent, independent woman; It ends up being more of a test of the mind rather than just how good you are with your fingers." Those are words of pure genius!

Paganitzu has adlib support. I don't know why the version you played didn't allow other. However don't expect a lot from the adlib mode because this aint commander keen it's pretty minimalistic.

Clint, I loved the Doom 3 (I think) Reference. That was awesome. But seriously, is there really an issue with 486 or higher machines? I used to have it on a Pentium-class
@andrewwong2007 жыл бұрын
What's the source of the video clip you show when you try to use a joystick with a 486? I've seen that clip before in a Doom WAS, and now I wanna know where it came from.

wow there was CD in 1991 , did anyone even have a CD ROM then?
@cyrillobaggins87899 жыл бұрын
Alex Smith the CD seems to be a re-release from 1994, if you check www.mobygames.com/game/dos/paganitzu/cover-art you can see the original 1991 release is on a floppy. Also I checked some old gaming mags and the first add I found for a soundblaster card with cdrom drive is in the December 1991 issue.

I got the first thing that could play audio cd's in 2004. I bought my first computer with a cd rom in 2006. Until then I had an old IBM model 77i. Man, was I poor.
@Frenziefrenz7 жыл бұрын
Also wouldn't the CD-ROM have a swath of other shareware titles on it? Seems kinda odd that they wouldn't do more with it. (My Terminal Velocity CD from Apogee was packed with all kinds of interesting shareware, most notably Duke 1, 2 & Wolf 3D but I also played the whole Hocus Pocus shareware ep.)
