Actually, Noah's Ark might be an interesting concept for a resource management game. Keep all the animals and people alive and happy during the voyage, and possibly rewrite history by obtaining and rescuing animals people thought nonexistent.

That pass through system on the cart was pretty much standard for playing import games on a PAL SNES, Regional game in the back and import game in the top. So technically Noah's Ark 3D was region free! Never heard of on a normal SNES game!

I suppose if one wanted more "genuine" FPS violence in their biblical games, they could always make one about David killing the Nephilim (giants) or even about when he had to collect 200 Philistine foreskins so he marry King Saul's daughter. "David: Foreskin Hunter" has FPS written all over it! ;)

SheepyTina Finally and in the wake of countless prayers of His followers The Lord, God the Almighty, the all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent and ubiquitous, omniscient and omnipotent Creator of the Universe and the planet Earth, the SSHA (Supreme Stickler for Heterosexual Activities) will show Himself to His faithful simultaneously in Rome, Jerusalem, Shanghai, Washington, New Delhi, Tokyo and Al-Qahira on June 13, 2015, at 13:13 a.m. EST in the presence of 200,000 people and 333 radio- and TV technicians.. He will direct Himself in the 444 major languages of the planet to mankind and He will abduct all earth-bound communication satellites to the effect. All technicians present and all scientists, even the most godless ones, will confirm that such an event cannot be explained by science, nay that such a feat is impossible to achieve by technical means. So at long last all mankind will see and witness and confess that God exists. It was after protracted deliberations with faithful communication experts that the Lord decided to use modern means of communication to spread His message of Love. He had been saddened by the fact the last round of communications with the help of burning bushes had been somewhat flawed because it had basically reached only Europe and the Americas while vast parts of Asia and the Middle East are still dominated by other religions and „gods“. We look forward to this event with great joy and gratefulness. Praised be The Lord.

You have to hand it to Wisdom Tree. When you think of bible games FPS doesn't seem like the first choice. Maybe ID's Doom is a sequel to 3D Super 3D Noah's 3D Ark 3D, after all you are fighting heathenous demons

They probably didn't think "Hey we should make a Christian themed fps game!" What most likely happened was that they saw how popular those games were and thought "if we combine these games popularity with the ease of making and selling religious themed games we could make a quick buck from this in no time at all!"

Hey Clint, I have a suggestion for a future video: though I understand the basics of it, I have been looking all over the internet for a technical breakdown of how the Doom engine (or any 2D FPS engine) works, basically how it manages to convey the illusion of a 3D space even though it is fully 2D, but I could never find anything about it. I think that would be an _awesome_ video that a lot of people would be interested in and I would be forever grateful. Hell, I bet you could even get in touch with John Romero: I get the feeling you are more popular than he is these days.

Ghost81 I'd also recommend Ancient Dos Games' video. Also, Google "fabien sanglard doom renderer." The first result is a coder who dissects exactly how the Doom engine draws each element on screen. It's the best breakdown I've ever seen on it. He gets in to the code too, if that's your thing.

Ghost81 It's also worth noting that different developers had different approaches to faking a 3D environment. id's Doom engine did things differently from Bungie's engine(s) for the Marathon games (Marathon 2's engine was a heavily overhauled version of the Marathon 1 engine, and added new gameplay mechanics as well as room for additional weapons. It also marked a change in the way the files worked, rending M1 files incompatible with M2 and MI. Marathon Infinity ran on the same engine of Marathon 2, though was closer to pushing the engine to its limits.), and 3D Realms's purchased Build Engine works differently than the Doom and Marathon engines. It'd be nice to see videos that cover the similarities and differences between each of these engines.

This is to Wolfenstein 3D what Chex Quest is to Doom: A weird-ass reskin that now has a cult following for obvious reasons. On the plus side, I really want to see the Brutal version of this game, where Noah fights off hoards of non-believers and eventually makes his way to hell and fights the devil. It'd be awesome to say the least. Lol.

@fridaykitty

@@chillinchum While Bethesda may not be entirely "lazy", they definitely aren't consumer-friendly. Take a look at the Creation Club, which is essentially their store for paid mods, which otherwise would be completely free, for Fallout 4 and Skyrim. Not to mention the severely bug-ridden state of many of their games, especially Fallout 76, on initial release. That one's definitely a point towards "lazy" if they're not even gonna fix game-breaking bugs before launch.

One thing I'd like to mention that wasn't mentioned in the video is that the bulk of the PC Steam release income goes to the creator of ECWolf, so if you just don't want to give money to Wisdom Tree, you'd be mostly helping him out.

***** There are two ways in which a year could have been shorter Either by a higher rotation of the planet or a insane scheme that did not observe the seasons. The bible is in so far completely bonkers that I would not put it passed them, but I don't believe this is the case. The decrease of rotational speed of the planet can be measured in only a couple of seconds over tens of thousands of years so that would not have made a great difference. So most likely it's a mistranslation, exaggeration or a blatant fib.

I'm... probably very strange then. I sat down and played this in it's entirety for almost 7 hours total and actually enjoyed it. Sure it's not as difficult as Wolfenstein 3D, but it still has it's moments and is far harder than most of Blake Stone Aliens of Gold (although I guess I only beat that on difficulty 3, not 4). There was only one bullshit part in E6M3 where ammo became stupidly rare and lead to an incredibly unfair situation which required an ammo cheat just to push through. Past that, it's playable and the religious theme just makes it all the more amusing for me.

***** ...Not necessarily. We both have Katia Managan as our avatar. Katia Managan is from a comedy webcomic (Homestuck sorta style but this is actually good) based in the world of The Elder Scrolls, specifically right before Oblivion, with Katia being the webcomic's version of Oblivion's main character, which is why the comic itself is called "Prequel Adventure". I suggest you read it, it's really funny. If you go to the site, though, I'll go ahead and warn you that it starts out on the most recent update. Check the column to the right for a button that says Start from the Beginning.

I always thought Noah was trying to get all the excess animals off of the ark since it was supposed to be only two of each kind. If that is true, then he's essentially killing all those animals since just about everything dies during the flood.

Honestly I think it holds up a bit better than Wolf 3D nowadays. It feels like a middle ground between Wolf and Doom combat-wise and the wholesomeness in a 2.5 D shooter is actually a nice change of pace

These were sold at Christian book stores; the one down the street from my apartment at the time had about five of these in box and brand new for sale 20 years ago, and deeply discounted. Still kicking myself in the ass for not buying them all and saving them for an Ebay 20 years later.

Noah had more than 2 of each clean animal on board, that's why there's tons of sheep and stuff. It shouldn't be -quite- that many but still :v
