There are several suppliers for this type of valve. LG does not recommend specific brands.

Trying to get this tool.... lokring
@LGSAE Жыл бұрын
Lokring tools are from the company Vulkan www.vulkan.com/en/

Theres a patent on the tool so it is waaaaay overpriced. Its also way too big to fit in alot of spaces, so bring your oxy/acet torch. Theres a reason only one lockring is on units coming out of factory. The factory brazes most of the joints.

You're really advising to let refrigerant out the window in EU?
@LGSAE Жыл бұрын
In these refrigerators LG uses R600a. This is a refrigerant with a GWP of 3. For R600a there is no reason not to let it out of the window. Please know, R600a is highly flammable so it should not be released in a confined space.
@Persojet Жыл бұрын
@@LGSAE it's still a 3, so it should be handled correctly. If everyone thinks like you guide, no wonder the world is warming.

Not sure what you mean but I guess you mean the release of the refrigerant in the air. That depends on the type of gas and the amount, obviously, but letting it out of the house in the open air is exactly what you need to do in this case.

Only the very newest fridges in the US use R600a (butane) as a refrigerant, it was illegal for the longest time due to its flammability, even though most of the world has been using it for at least a decade. So most fridges in the US still use a traditional Freon, typically r134a, which of course is illegal to vent to atmosphere due to its high GWP. The standard industry practice for butane (r600a) refrigerant is to release it to atmosphere , it has close to 0 GWP and very small amounts are used in the fridge.
