Got this at a Thrift store $30. Used the app and controller. Followed the manual- but- it did a flyaway on me. I retrieved it from our trees. My old Syma X5 beginner quads are more reliable. This product is deceptive junk. Get a $90 Ryze Tello- no gps but many good reviews. Graduate to a Spark DJI or something else. Thanks for the review- I like your channel!

I purchased this..but the battery just lasted three short flights...and they dont sell it anymore..luckly i adapted a 7.4v 700mah battery..and now it works like new!!!

It's likely one of the following three. 0720, 0820 or 8520. To find out which, measure the faulty motors diameter with a caliper. If 7mm diameter, then 0720. If 8mm, then 0820. And if 8.5mm, then 8520. Make sure to match the wire colors of the faulty motor when purchasing a replacement. The wire colors specify the direction of rotation

Great video. I appreciate all the effort you put in to demonstrate this drone. I just bought one and I'm having trouble with all the calibrations as the lights that are supposed to flash or go steady are not changing. But some home I got it flying but I wasn't flying it and lucky to get it down and captured again. But after watching your video I'm going to try all the calibrations again. The manual is not very good to say the least. But anyway thank you for this great video. Much appreciated. Lisa

Glad you start off by describing this as "an interesting new" rather than the usual "another neat quadcopter." At USD117 landed for a short ranged, brushed, 2.4ghz wi-fi toy quad with the added "benefit" of a proprietary battery why would anyone in their right mind chose this over a MJX Bugs 2c (US97.50 landed on current flash sale) plus US20 to 30 for an add-on true 5.8ghz AIO FPV camera?!

I like that these companies are coming out with inexpensive GPS drones, but it’s too bad that most the cameras are awful. I bought a DJI Spark a year ago and so far haven’t found a single similar drone that does what it does. I guess you get what you pay for. Thanks for the review.

No that is caused by interference of the 2.4Ghz WiFi, which happens to be on the same frequency band as the 2.4Ghz controller. To get around this problem, many drones use 5Ghz 802.11ac WiFi. Unfortunately, not everyone has a phone capable of using 802.11ac WiFi. Another option is to use a WiFi repeater using the phone only to control the drone. hi Quadcopter 101. sure glad i found your video. i recently was given a quadcopter that was lost by someone. it fell in their backyard. i tried to find the original owner by posting a message but nobody replied. so obviously i do not have the remote controller and all the apps either IOS or ANDROID that i have tried just dont work at all or only a few of the buttons work, such as photo or joy stick knobs. now this one is identical physically to the one you reviewed but the only markings i could find were on the motherboard, which is LHX 28RX. i realize, this is most likely discontinued but would you know the name of the drone if it has one and why the phone apps dont work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The RX version does not use WiFi or an app. It only records video to an onboard TF card, for later download to your computer or phone after you land.

Well this drone is terrible! It is wobbling and shaking and can´t hold a stable video for one second. The framerate look to be very low. If it should fly side by side with a Tello, it must be a real kill for this drone.

We that ones a bit of a mixed bag isn't it? Decent GPS (I'd like to have seen if it'd RTH when the Tx was turned off), terrible, unwatchable video (the drone seems to have invented a whole new level of jerky-jell-o (jerk-o?). reasonable photos, pointless follow me, decent looks (like a folding Spark)... Do we expect any better for that price?

Hi Quadcopter101. I'm looking for buying a drone for me that can make good videos have followed me function and (the most important option) that follow to the market point in Google Maps. I see two possible options: LH - X28WF (cheaper), SHRC H1 ( 5G ) (second cheaper) and JJRC JJPRO X5 5G (really most expensive) ... what option do you recommend? I can't find enough difference in your videos, therefore I ask you. If you also recommend any other drone that has these options, can make a good video and is cheap, please tell me. If you want reasonably good video your drone is either going to have to have either Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) or at least a 2-axis gimbal. Drones that don't have one of these two technologies will yield very shaky videos while flying no matter how good their camera (e.g. 1080p or 4K). As of May 2019 there a two lower cost (

There is a micro SD card slot ...take battery out look into drone body you will see the slot (right where battery connects)which works but ..getting it in is hard .getting out is almost impossible..I had to dismantle the drone to get it out ...plus the app is useless

Have you tried using the video record switch? It's the video camera icon near the lower right corner of your screen. It records the camera's video directly to your phone. You must remember to turn it off before turning off the drone, or you will lose your video.

Use Skyrider GPS then all functions will work also it does have an sd card slot it is all the way at battery compartment either cut hole in bottom or do like me am using chopsticks to insert the card. Ok little drone and much better video once sd card inserted.

You're not going to find that battery as it was proprietary, and is long out of production. But, you may be able to use a generic 7.4V 900mah LiPo and wire it into the original battery case.

@@bhavikdarolia It's possible to fly outside, if there's minor wind. And don't expect too much from the cam. It's just too shaky. Mine flipped over 3 to 4 times. Then one rotor didn't do the job anymore, so it always drifted away while starting. For the price of 99,99 It's OK. For Fun and Beginners. ☺
