I have mixed feelings about this flight. Originally it was booked on Airbus 340 but Lufthansa decided to create Airbus 350 base in Munich and switched MUC-EWR route from 340 to 350. For my family of 4 people economy layout 2+4+2 in 340 is better than 3+3+3 in Airbus 350. At the same time I was excited to fly on new type of aircraft. Overall experience was good: flight departed and arrived on time, baggage was not lost, crew felt professional and focused. Now.. when you need to sit 8+ hours straight on the same seat you start to notice small things. I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall i.e. about 188 centimeters and usually book at least premium economy but tickets on Christmas are not cheap so I decided to save some money. In the end it was a bad idea, cushion of economy seat is hard and short. Recline is limited and with 31 inches of pitch is usually not an option if you care about person who sits behind you. Except desert the food was strange, edible but don't understand choice of ingredients. I won't consider Lufthansa economy (even premium) for future flights.

Great trip report! Liked and subscribed. It's cool to fly on a new plane, and A350 is a very nice aircraft. The catering service on this flight was quite disappointing.
