The Red Army Choir's concert tour to Cuba, 1961 (documentary)

The documentary report about the concert tour of the Red Banner Song and Dance Ensemble of the Soviet Army named after. A.V. Alexandrov in Cuba. The concerts took place in Havana in the Chaplin Theater Hall in October 1961. The concerts were visited by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.

Замечательный фильм. Спасибо. Краснознамённый ансамбль восхитительный, что поют, что танцуют. А Бухенвальдский набат, по украински на часі і тепер. Я одним певцам написала, что необходимо сейчас, из-за того, что творится в мире спеть Бухенвальдский набат и Если-бы парни всей Земли вместе собраться когда нибудь могли. Пока молчат, не поют, а время как раз таких песен. Л. Харитонов спел бы.

Other films of this event stated this event was an ad hoc .Spur of opportunity requested by the Cuban government. After the Red Army's planned concert in Venezuela the final concert planned in the Western Hemisphere the ensemble was cobbled together to add a concert in Havana. I was taken aback in my belief from my cold war days that certainly the Soviets would of included Their pet Allie in the initial plans for this concert tour

In 1961 Communist Cuba was an infant nation too young to realize the oppressive drudgery ahead .I believe the audience enthusiasm exhibited here is genuine and not forced at the end of cat-o-nine tails and bayonets The one who was brainwashed by propaganda would be myself at a very early age in the 1950s one seeing a Troup of Russian Dancers on the Ed Sullivan Show I asked my parents, seriously " How did they get here ( USA ) Did they bring them in cages? "

Leonid Kharitonov (Леонид Харитонов) This link ed video you provided is probably the film I got my info from where the Cuban airplanes were dilapidated and could barely make the trip to Cuba. Reviewing quickly over your film of your father telling the tale corrected my statements they flew from Mexico and not Venezuela

jironmeister propaganda ? For who . Film was probably only shown in Soviet bloc countries. I don't consider it propaganda. That is whose sole intent was to persuaded a dishonest ideology. Certainly no more propaganda than a fictitious western movie staring John Wayne which apparently , and strangely persuaded Tea Party types to recognize incorrectly John Wayne as a true American hero
