LHB Coaches/Bogies Brake System | How LHB Rake Brake System Work | LHB & ICF Braking Distance

The LHB bogie is fitted with axle mounted disc brakes. LHB Disc brake has caliper assembly which consist of brake cylinder, brake pads, & caliper. The size of disc is 640 mm in diameter and 110 mm thickness. LBH brake Disc made of gray cast iron. 10” brake cylinder is used with built in automatic slack adjustment.
Features of LHB Brake -
• Brake cylinder pressure - 3.8 Bar for 4 seconds
• Brake cylinder piston force - 17857 Newton
• No. of cylinders per coach - 8 Nos.
• Coefficient of friction between brake pads and disc - 0.35
• Brake caliper ratio - 2.48
• Brake cylinder volume (each) - 9.75 liter

Meri jankari galat nahi hai. Main is video main LHB and ICF bogie ke braking syatemke comperision kar raha hun. Kya aap is baat se agree karte hain ki at same speed and weight LHB brakes are more efficient than shoe type brake.

Actually its not fix. But when brake pad is new condition that time toatl clearance is 2-3 mm from both side. Total disk thickness is about 110 mm. Thickness of new brake pad is 15 mm approximatly. When this pad wearout then clearance increase but this accomated by caliper movement.

LHB main braking system, toilets, and many more applications works on pneumatic air pressure. Sanding of locomotive wheel and track system also works on pneumatic pressure. That's why we hear air leaking sound in train.
