I just woke up after my nighty night shift at Souldrop in Bedford and watched this. Amazing, especially those ‘golden nuggets’, those bricks… if I ever get an hour spare, I’ll drop on and clean a few… I’m so busy though working as I am down south….

That's fantastic! What a major improvement in just a year's time.. Great work by all the volunteers and paid contractors too. Awesome drone footage from Court Above the Cut, been watching this project from different sources over the last several years . Cheers from Missouri USA.

Volunteers can restore a canal, but the government can't even dredge a river. Well done.

Well it's wonderful that the canals are being restored , its costing to much to build them the " OLD FASHIONED WAY" ...new technology has to be applied to the task.. prefabricated cast concrete units that have the slopping sides and side walls that can just be craned into place would save considerably on man power and earth works..just impatient to get the wide canal network joined up so I can get my wide beam further into the country...the trust shouldn't be building anymore narrow canals , only wide as both boats can use a wide canal and as wide beams increase in popularity in years to come as retirees trade their bricks and sticks for the life aquatic and young people give up on home ownership and instead buy a wide beam it's important that the network is joined up to releave the pressure on the existing canals as quickly as possible!!!.❤️🇬🇧

@caravanstuff2827 the difficulty is that even if we rebuilt the canal wide enough for wide beams, you still wouldn't be able to access it as the Wyrley and Essington and the Coventry are both narrow canals. 😟

Should empty all the four star hotels that are full of 'visitors' to our shores. Put them to work on this amazing project.
