Thank you for letting me know that your stance is that there are exceptions and legitimate reasons for divorce. Now I know. I love how you threw in that clip from Coming to America, 😆

Wow! You make marriage sound awful. Rather than focus on what the Greeks and philosophers thought of women, please focus on what God thinks of women. I know you were making a point about the culture but you didn’t balance the culture’s perspective with God’s perspective. Rather than make marriage sound like an awful transactional chore (sex for men and safety/money for women), focus on how men and women are truly each other’s better halves. We complement one another making each other whole. My husband is a much better man for having married me and I am a much better woman for being married to him. There is a reason why married people are happier and live longer lives than single people. As a Gen X’er listening to this, I feel you have missed the point entirely of marriage. If I were a youngster in my 20’s or 30’s living in the world with little to no community, almost nihilistic, and profoundly anxious and unable to connect outside a video game, I would eschew marriage as another PITA responsibility of which I want no part. Please, please fix this approach and present the beauty and glory of marriage. The family is under attack in our culture. The Church needs to recognize, support, and promote marriage and family especially amongst ourselves bc no other institutions will in this day and time.
