Love your vids bro, just wounded how long to time is between lifts using the grapple system Compared to having people sling every lift manually? It Must get pretty hectic for the excavator operator in the hold , having to stack 30ish ton of logs away between every lift with a small digger with small bunching grapples lol.
@daibach9992 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for the comment. The excavator oops are by far the hardest workers on the shift, the cranes can throw the lift in every 2 mins if needed. We work two holds per crane the grab lifts 30 tonnes, this method if way quicker than traditional slinging but the digger oops get punished. Much quicker and easier for us in the cranes and the diggers when we work on top on the lids where we can see instead of using a downward facing camera too. Hope that helps 😜🤙
@evil2rs2 жыл бұрын
@@daibach999 thanks for the reply, yea I bet they get punished in hold, that’s not a lot of time to stack the logs away ( depends on if they need to shift the whole lift of logs or not ), because obviously you can’t get the logs where they need to go every lift. @daibach9993 жыл бұрын
Due to the Wings and the Under and Away on the ships the cranes are limited to the square only which is why you see the excavators positioning the logs and making optimail use of the space available. Hope that helps you understand 🤙

I’m sure they use bunks on the boat to load the logs with diggers and lift off with ship or shore cranes to awaiting trucks. I have seen a video on you tube so worth a look Peter
