i like how you present it as an interpretation of the likely preferences of the guy who originally cooked it up

🙏 Haha yea of course! I mean martial artists are individual humans too right? Even in cultural and regional context it's someone or some locality's flavor of a regional pugilistic vocabulary

Loved this...ima teach myself this form. Dr Yang Jwing Ming teaches it but I've never liked his applications even though I think he's a great martial artist.

Yea man I think this is a very very widespread form... Hopefully this gets people thinking and reflecting on their form they learned

Great video!, can't wait for part 3! I learned it 15yrs ago too, altough a bit different, Gu Ruzhang adopted it and that's how it got to us. There are some throws, but they are more like take downs than a hip throw, lots of joint locks tho!. Very solid form and good applications all around. Thanks for sharing! 🙏

Couldn't the move after the groin slap be a single leg takedown? Like you go low to slap someplace (,groin , face...while hiding behind their shoulder...) with your right hand. Then....grab the leg and pull and twist with your right arm while pushing down someplace with your left hand and using gong bu to assist the takedown .
@the.wandering.warrior2 жыл бұрын
I think that's a bit difficult on someone your size or bigger

@the.wandering.warrior2 жыл бұрын
I don't understand. Can striking be used as wrestling???? 🤔😐
@mgtowishfever83212 жыл бұрын
@@the.wandering.warrior hahaha,no what meant is can a striking based martial art can contain some wrestling.such as northern mantis which is a striking art.
@the.wandering.warrior2 жыл бұрын
@@mgtowishfever8321 sure some pugilistic systems can have a decent amount of wrestling, although by definition they'll be more pugilism based
@tangsun4797 Жыл бұрын
@@mgtowishfever8321 Mantis is not a striking art.
