Thanks for sharing. Yes, 譚穎倫 really works hard to perfect his performance大審戲, including very detailed gestures like walking down from his podium/platform, how many steps. He is very meticulous and shows a lot of efforts and attention! Kudos. Also, this performance and紫釵記之論理爭夫 you also posted remind me a couple of things I really like the way he plans out /keeps traditional 戲 format and elements. (1) I am not saying that shortening/condensing the scenes is bad but i have seen a few劇團 doing it at the risk of sacrificing/losing some key impacts e.g. atmosphere, effects. For example, 紫釵記之論理爭夫, he keeps the 頭段与太㷉的爽中板对唱, was able to bring the atmosphere to a high point with effects, some 劇團 only 用几句口白交代, not perfect replacement in my opinion. (2) on the other hand, he changed the way he sang 長花(那段莊嚴白虎堂...) to express the character's feelings and reactions to the dark side of the situation - it was very effective. he did not cut or condense 那段 but expressed it differently for artistic reasons, which is very good and innovative (i used this word because i have never seen - maybe someone did that before) - but shortening / condensing must be done carefully and for good reason, i find some 劇團 did not take too much care about that (maybe to cut time, to reduce potential errors/bad performance? (3) I also personally particularly like his preference for keeping some traditional 唱段. e.g. his 劇團 is the only one i have seen in recent years, using 唐滌生's original 唱段 when開始盤問宾娥, (中板:風吹柳恕落山羊,家住秋江..無.家倩女把身藏), and not using,蘇翁 (i think, can't remember now)的 new 版本 which 99% 劇團 use. This is my personal liking, only, nothing wrong with new 版本 though

So that, it's hard to say which is better or worse depending on the different performance methods, both of them were thought out the performance. But I think the two ways they perform are very compatible。
