floch's anger is pretty justified. imagine if you were in this world and you read that the commander of the scouts life was was traded for some no name new recruit thats been in the scouts for only a few months. we can empathize with the main characters cos we're following that story but i feel that the purpose of flochs character is to snap us back into reality in that this story is bigger than just the main characters.

Molly is best girl. She's so wound up by the show that it makes the reaction great. Lia is more reserved, you can still tell that she likes it, but Courtney seems like she is just not enjoying the show anymore at all. I remember she got excited a bit at the action, so maybe next season will perk her up a bit.

Courtney your questions will be answered soon enough! You're asking the right ones. For now it's assumed at least from a military perspective that it's smarter for Marley to keep titans around as weapons, like we saw with their warrior titan program in 3x20 episode.

I mean to Courtney's point that is stupid that they have hatred towards Eldians, yes its stupid but people do it today and throughout history with people who don't have some titan power. If we had people that can turn into titans, the governments of the world would round them up. We have seen for example the X-Men show has similar thing where mutants are prosecuted. Also, in Marley's history the Eldians dominated the world for 2000 years and were subjecting other people up till 100 years ago where the roles reversed.

"I just want the weak who do get swept along with the flow to be considered human, too" -Annie, S1E23 🥺 Floch although being an asshole was speaking the truth. He also helped to provide that outside perspective which was refreshing since he wasn't 100% in agreement with our MCs. It basically gave another layer of believability to the situation overall. I also loved how Floch reflected S1 Jean here, which was why Jean was able to see where he was coming from. Remember when Jean questioned Eren before their 1st expedition? Floch's moment was basically like that moment. They both even said the same thing by the end, that they had a right to decide what they're dying for. Eren started this season at the ocean and ended it at the ocean was fantastic. The flip of expectations especially was great! Seeing him there at the start was basically a hype moment, but undercut with a bit of worry at his words and the lack of anyone else around him. Then we finally get here and everything's okay. People are there and having fun, but Eren is the one in hell in his mind and unable to really enjoy it. There was an obvious change you could see in Eren at the start, but now you could really tell how much he's changed. He seemed so sad, spaced out, and his usual "Kill them all (titans)!" is now "Kill them all (the world)?" For majority of the series, the ocean has always symbolized the path to freedom but now that we're finally here, freedom is still nowhere in sight. Just a whole lot more pain and suffering ahead of them.

Congrats on making it this far, guys! It really feels like a significant milestone has been reached. Just look at all those ✅ on the Questions list! I'm still impressed that The Basement actually delivered. IMO, the bombshells we learned in the past few episodes pretty much elevated every piece of lore and character interaction that came before it. A good example of patient, well planned storytelling.

the more times i watch this episode, the worse i feel for eren. poor kid thought that all he had to do was get rid of the titans and take back their land, and when he finally is able to reach the sea like he and armin had dreamed of, all he can think about is how hopeless the situation is. the thing he wanted most and worked for his entire life just got exponentially farther away from his grasp. not to mention that he's already seen the exact spot the scouts arrived at in grishas memories, and he is acutely aware of how many people have died horribly for no reason there. the guy doesn't get an ounce of respite :(

The Marleyans are dropping off the Titans on the island as a form of containment. They are afraid of being re-conquered by Paradis so they use the Titans of prevent the Eldians from exploring outside the wall, to prevent them from discovering the outside world.

What do you mean, it doesn't make sense ? It's logic. Marley is making Titans to lock the Eldians from Paradis Island on the Island. With the titans, Eldians had to stay within the walls. It's so obvious ans logic, how can you don't understand that ? When you fear someone and that you doesn't want him to flee from his prison, you are encaging him with a threat he has to fight, even if this threat is something you hate yourself. It is called using your ennemy against himself. The titans will not go to Marley across the sea ... They risks nothing with doing that. And they use that as a strategical tool and weapon so that Eldians from Paradis stay kindly in their prison. I never saw someone who don't understand that. What should doesn't make sense for you to this point, it's why they destroyed the walls with Bert, Reiner and Annie ?

Marley says they hate titans, it's just a narative, an excuse to commit atrocity to Eldian people without being condemned for it. The fact that the warriors, Reiner, Bert and Annie are Eldian working for Marley shows that they have been benefited from the power of Titans. It's like everybody is afraid of nuclear weapons, but when you control the nuke, you'll keep making more.

The reason it's not too stupid Marley is making more Titans is because they are already a race of monsters, that isolated themselves on the island, they are sending even more titans to keep them locked in or do away with them because Marley actually have the manpower to deal with brainless titans unlike the Eldians being isolated. Basically, making more does nothing to Marley even though they hate them, but helps deal with the devil race because it prevents them from exploring outside the walls because of all those titans. And the reason why I said it's "not too stupid" (still stupid) is because there's a problem Marley had sending all those titans that is revealed later.

The sad part of all this is that without us realizing it this was the last episode animated by Wit Studio before he left the project due to lack of time. It is here when mappa takes the baton for the path of what will be the fourth and final season of this story and THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, mappa is fine but he does not perform the titanic task never better said, of animating this series with the super highest quality with which Wit Studio made. That's why for me this chapter is even sadder than it is, because those people who gave the identity of AoT and made it what it is today abandoned it at that very moment without our knowing. By the way, in the credits scene there are images drawn by Wit Studio of what would have been the last season animated by them. Btw to me, the soundtrack of the credits scene reflects the sadness that Wit's entire team feels at having to say goodbye without having been able to finish what they started.

Season 4 -How did Eren get the ability to become a titan? Season 4 -Who/What's the beast Titan? Season 4 -How did the titans get past Wall Rose if there is no hole? @@Sergio-fs4yt Eren gets retconned, going from a character who cares about freedom to a psychopath who wants to kill all of humanity just because. From this point, he knew exactly why he was rumbling, which was to protect Paradis from the rest of the world. In the ending, this is retconned to just wanting all other humans dead, and retconned again, into Eren not knowing why he did the rumbling, and retconned again into not actually wanting to kill everyone, but only 80% so his friends could be seen as heroes. The fact the ending is self-contradictory should clue you in that it's not a good ending. Ymir also gets retconned, going from a slave who simply could not see herself as free, to the point of being stuck for near eternity in the paths, obeying the royal family, who was then clearly freed by Eren just before the rumbling, and turned into a lovesick puppy who can't let go of the man who treated her like garbage her entire life. It's really gross, and doesn't fit narratively at all.
