He could've made contact with them earlier Thursday, however the stipulation in the contract offer and sudden turn of events could naturally led to him solely focusing on getting the 2nd interview right while not being distracted by whatever the Bucs could've said about it. A life-changing moment and he might not have been sure he would take the job without going through the 2nd interview.

Idc that Coen took the job, good for him. It's the how he did it with sneaking around and not informing anyone until it was mostly a done deal.
