Can we stop a moment and think about what a good brother Paul is to Liam? I mean, I love Noel and I kind of get his point of view, but Paul was the one who ran off to Liam's house when he was at his worst. He was the one who took care of him in those dark days.

mcornettmedia thatd be a dream come true, but if a reunion came to be, i cant see it being any other way than the DOYS lineup (liam, noel, gem, andy & chris). I doubt guigs and alan would want to return, and noel and tony arent on good terms IIRC. Maybe Bonehead could join them for the 90s songs?

Decent? She was Liams PA and screwing him while he was married to Nicole. So she was no "lady" either. She's now his manager - AND his girlfriend. Her best friend is his tour manager. And after 5 years of living with the man, she hasn't even bothered to listen to all the songs of the band he was in? She only cares for the money Liam brings in. She's far from decent and hardworking. Did what any manager of any singer/band would do.

I was never very interested in Oasis, but I loved Beady Eye. It seemed to me like Rock and Roll disappeared somewhere along Exile on Main Street, but Beady Eye found it again and picked it up and ran with it. My own Rock and Roll ambitions died in the lack of response to Different Gear. It was so close to the sort of album I had always wanted to produce if I had ever been able to put together all the right elements. I praised Beady Eye to any ear I could find, but no one had ever heard of them, and I don't think anyone looked for the album on my recommendation. I had to conclude that the world didn't want to hear Rock and Roll. Everyone was too played out, burnt out, cynical, and dead at heart. I finally tossed out what remained of my old ambitions to play Rock and Roll. It was heart breaking enough for me. If I had actually produced that beautiful album to see it fall away in obscurity unheard, it would have crushed me beyond repair. What is the use in even trying. It was clearly a pure labor of love, and a string of pearls, trampled by swine. I don't know anything of the artist's autobiography. (He may have been reluctant to admit to any reviewer or interviewer that he had high hopes for his polished gem.) There may have been other things going on, but that's how I understand it plain and simple. To produce a great album like that and see it flop, with most people completely unaware of it, is heartbreaking.

You have kept your dignity, drive & humanity no matter how much you get the short end of the stick, especially in the eyes of the masses. I see you, mate, and what you are made of. Glad you have remained with us, and that you have happiness in your life. Stay as cool as you have always been. Repping Truth can hurt, but deception & dissembling destroy. For the misunderstood and unappreciated, or at least under appreciated. A surly hero beats a congenial for the pathologically honest.

Sorry but I thought they were bloody awful. Soulless - over baring - bombastic- lacking a single decent song and no-one at the helm to steer them towards a few half way reasonable chines. Imo but you know I’m right. Funny how As You Were was the absolute polar opposite of Beady Eye on just about every important artistic level. A fine piece of work - loaded with real classics. Love it loads !! Rx

Beady Eye had many great songs: The Roller, Soul Love, Kill for a Dream, Four Letter Word, Three Ring Circus, Start Anew, Flick of the Finger, Second Bite of the Apple, Shine a Light, Bring the Light, Wigwam. And I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

james lind I’m not criticising Beady Eye. I enjoy their two albums, especially the second one. I was just pointing out that it made a difference commercial wise because his name is an easier sell than Beady Eye was to the public. Also As You Were was a more consistent album than either of Beady Eye’s because he got help with his songwriting. Liam is talented as a songwriter but having collaborators suits him. I class him as a singer and frontman first and foremost like Elvis for example.

The reason Oasis will never get back together, I think, is Paul Weller Paul Weller is Noels best mate and neighbour, and Weller is the best example of never reforming your original band and finding it a laughable idea I reckon if there was ever times Noel had considered reforming Oasis Weller would have talked him into believing it would be a sad as fuck idea

@@mmsiphonevinyls1027 I've never heard that story before but it doesn't surprise me as that's exactly what I thought, it's a shame Weller thinks it's any of his business, he should stick to his library flavour muzak and let others make their own minds up about their careers

Beady Eye was great. Different Gear, Still Speeding is one of my favourite albums. It's as good as Oasis. Well, in fact, it rocked a lot harder than late Oasis. It was good to see what Liam would do unchained from Noel. (And I'm not dissing Noel. I'm a huge Noel fan. But Beady Eye gave me a higher appreciation of Liam's unique, irreplaceable contribution to Oasis.) Liam's solo success is well-deserved and I am happy for it. But I think Beady Eye was great.

M01535 not at all. They are both great alone but even better together. Without Noel’s songs Liam wouldn’t have made it. Also, without Liam’s voice and charisma Noel wouldn’t have made it. Alan McGhee signed Oasis on the strength of how blown away he was by the look of Liam and his presence as a frontman as much as he was by Noel’s songs. He noticed Liam before he heard him sing. Liam made him take notice of Noel’s songs. They needed each other.
