@@nikmar77 There are loopholes, now while a place like Mortis allowed Qui Gon to appear to Obi Wan… I think it's very possible he could appear in any place that's powerful in the force. If they were to bring in Yoda, I think Qui Gon could probably appear on Dagobah. Or possibly….maybe even Mace Windu, in the flesh. I think there could be a very good story there, Obi Wan who has a strong belief that Luke is the chosen one after what happened to Anakin. Just like how Qui Gon knew Anakin was the chosen one, whereas Mace Windu gave into that idea before, and it destroyed the Jedi Order.

Lunarian 987 yes he was fantastic! I loved him! He was soft, brilliant face, he was natural not a loud overt personality! He was intelligent and worked at lot building things! That’s why he worked in that shop! I believe Anakins character is a bit of an introvert and at a young age could speak his mind. He wasn’t embarrassed to tell Padme he was fond of her too, something boys we know would be too embarrassed to do! But he was different! I believe being raised by a single mom who was very loving and gentle allow him to speak of affection without shame! He wasn’t hanging around a lot getting into trouble! He was a tinkerer lots going on in his mind! Not a bully type or loud mouth more gentle! When he grew up there you have it!

I think a solid point that people miss about Anakin's fall, was a boy whom had lost his world in his mother. A woman, whom he'd have left, to go become basically a superhero. Off into space, exposed to a brand new level of intergalactic civilization, only to see that greater world, and the heroes he followed, all compromise their own beliefs that Anakin felt was true. All he wanted was love and family, in "saving Padme," but seductive is the darkside, and vanity and hubris are the opposite of humility and dignity. The undertones of old Greek Tragedies are at the heart of storytelling for George Lucas. This is what was missing in the new series after Episode 7. They forgot to tell the Tragedy for episodes 8 and 9. Looking forward to the next Trilogy, and hoping they get back to telling Greek Tragedies set in science fiction.

He wouldn't have. The battle between Qui-Gon and Darth Maul was a battle over Anakin's fate (hence the name of the song "Duel of the Fates"). Of course, the problem is that George, while a brilliant storyteller, is a _horrible_ writer and just impressively shitty director, so this whole aspect of his story was lost on viewers. There's an absolutely epic behind-the-scenes mini series on Disney Plus. While the series is about The Mandalorian, there's this incredible rant Dave Filoni goes on about the prequels. And everyone else just shuts up, completely enraptured by it. There's just this energy radiating off of him, and everyone in the room falls silent, just listening to this goddamn _poetic_ tangent of his. I always loved the prequels, but my husband hated them. I begged him to watch that episode and listen to Dave talk. And when he did, even he, the staunch prequel-hater that he is, took a beat and said, "okay, if _that_ had been in the story, that would have changed everything." George could never write something half as good as this dorky guy in a Star Wars Tshirt and cowboy hat going on this whole rambling tangent. Seriously. I'd leave my husband for him in a heartbeat. And when I told my husband that, even he had to shrug and say, "yeah that's fair." The guy is a legend. But he talks about that fight scene and that music, and how Anakin's fate was riding on the outcome of that battle. When Qui-Gon died, so did the only hope for Anakin's salvation (and it puts the name of episode IV in a completely new perspective too).

i saw the first movie when i was maybe 7 or younger and i had Hayden Christensen poster in my room although i haven't even watched the other two prequel movies (yes i was madly in love :D)... many years later (i am 26 now) i only remembered JarJar from the first movie and i always was fond of him whenever i remembered him.... and then i saw a tiktok video that made me watch all the movies and i absolutely fell in love, i got inspired and it changed my life.... in a way, i think it was meant to be like this for me.. life tortures you and then gives you something to rise your spirit and continue, so i don't really regret that i didn't decide sooner to watch the movies or getting to know more about them in any way... i am so happy i got to finally see this world and also see all the other fans that are so amazing :D... but what makes me sad while watching videos like these is that there was and still is so much hate towards JarJar.. and i don't understand it because he was literally the only one that remained in my head for all these years.. probably because i was a kid and i liked how silly he was.. and i can see that all the people who were kids when they watched the movies also didn't hate him.. but most people are sheep, one will say JarJar is annoying and then thousand other people will 'relaize' they don't like him too.. i hope the actor knows he did a good job and is loved :)

Ewan McGregors love, care, and enthusiasm is always something that puts a big stupid smile on my face every time I see any clip of him being interviewed about Star Wars, his character, and/or lightsabers. It's just such wonderful casting and his performance carries the film where it's flaws might threaten the cohesion of the whole, especially in the first and second prequels. It's one of those rare instances where you KNOW, not just suspect, that an actor LOVES the character he's playing. That care and dedication shines through so brilliantly that even where Obi-Wan is not present, his brilliant performances frames, gives weight and emotional heft to every single other film, book, video game, animation, fan fiction, selflessly dedicated and equally brilliant KZbin channel, comic, role playing game, tee-shirt, toy, and lunchbox set in the Starwars universe. That universe wherein his character lives and breaths and - of course - fights - with that most gloriously impossible and undeniably beautiful of weapons: The Lightsaber. (aka a more elegant weapon from a more civilized age. Or so they say. 😉 ) Will heal and thrive once again BECAUSE Ewin and Obi are coming back to it to, I hope, recharge that vital creative enthusiasm battery that has been drained so carelessly by otherwise talented people people who seem to want to make a movie - are talented at making movies - just not a starwars movie.

This is a really cool series! I'd also like to see this continued on the Bonus Discs for the Complete Saga Blu-Ray set as well (The 2011 One), as they have some really interesting stuff as well that aren't on these discs.

Will be interesting to see what the obi-wan series delves into. I think DebChow was present for Filoni's explanation about Qui Gon Jin - Anikin - and Obi-wan the reluctant Father figure but brotherly figure. Maybe he will reflect on this in his isolation.

I also have the first editions of the og Star Wars in theatre versions it was actually the first thing that got me into Star Wars that DVD set. It came with the theatre disc and the new edited versions and as a kid somehow I chose to watch the theatre versions first.

I don’t care what anyone says, this movie was great. Flawed? Of course. But Episode 1 was my first “new” Star Wars as a kid, and has such a charm all its own. I still remember how I felt in the theater the first time I saw the lightsaber duel in the final act. It blew my mind! We have Episode 1 to thank for a lot of cool things often taken for granted in the franchise. Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Mace Windu, Duel of the Fates, actually the entire soundtrack was fantastic, one of my favorites in Star Wars. Anyway, I could probably gush some more, but I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir 😜 Thank you for your Star Wars content, SWT. It’s truly some of the best on KZbin! I’ve been around a while but not commented much. Keep up the great work!
