You are hilarious. This channel needs more exposure. No idea where you are from, not that it matters, but that accent combined with a great sense of humor makes what would be a boring video entertaining. Plus, you actually know what you are doing and provide excellent info. I just ordered these fans, and the shipping company has held them captive 5 mins from my house....don't deliver on weekends. But I was worried they were all show. My backup choice were the bequiet light wings based on your channel. But the connection ease on the Lian Li won me over regardless of rgb which I rarely care about. They should make a solid back edition of these with no rgb. Anyways, keep up the good work. Glad I found this channel. Hello from NL, Canada.

Enjoy your new fans! If you like their ARGB then hell yeah I don't see a reason not to get them. They connectivity won me over as well. And them making a solid black / black out version is genius, now that I'd buy in a heartbeat. I personally haven't made up my mind if their ARGB appeal to me, but everything else about is extremely appealing!

these videos are fantastic, they really are. but since you're one of the few that makes a point to test case flow often, please start labeling your graphs to say whether the fans are in a case, radiator, or air cooler position. there's a lot of basic setup info missing from your graphs almost every time, and i know it can be a pain to add but that's the stuff that makes content usable for real purchasing decisions. either way, thanks for making these

I think blade material and bearing technology are important factors for estimating longevity. Also, as long as we're looking at larger-than-standard sizes I think 120 mm fans should be compares against the T30.

Damn, never happened before 😅 Usually we render a video twice. After the first one, we watch it and note any possible mistake/issue. For Lian Li’s I remember it cause it was like a single frame missing between an A- and B-roll. Looked like a stutter. Sucked to render again, but it was too much for me to accept. Yeah, seems something went wrong for the second render 😅 Normally we don’t watch the second one except if it’s a very delicate video. Doesn’t seem like the best approach right now

The biggest problem with all these proprietary RGB fans is, if you have a huge tower case like I do, they are worthless if the fan cable is too short to get to the controller. I haven't seen one company include fan extension cables or, not even as an option to buy later if needed. Another problem is, if your controller goes tits up, your dead in the water.
@LeadSails Жыл бұрын
Lian Li just released fan extension cables for their Uni fans. Also, they do sell the controller separately.

What I want to know, is do they have the Lian Li fan PWM "click" ? The stock fans that came in my Lancool Mesh II Performance, all had dreaded PWM click, which was my first experience with that annoying sound. For those of you that don't know what PWM click is, it's a slight clicking sound from some PWM fans, that sounds like the blades are just barely tipping the fan's frame. It will drive a person nuts after awhile. I had to spend a fortune on aftermarket fans to fix the issue, and is a reason I might not ever buy a Linan Li case again, even though the case it's self is not bad.
@STSYT2 жыл бұрын
Isn’t the ‘click’ you’re referring to the ‘speed up’ of the fan? Depending on the speed, PWM fans will speed up a fan more or less often over the span of a second. Sometimes you can hear those clicks on low spinning budget fans. Especially if they’re spinning slow. It’s kinda like an old diesel engine. Starting it may sound awfully tick-tick..tick-ticke like, until it’s spinning fast enough to create something that resembles an engine. Though I never heard those sounds from ‘good’ fans. Always just AliExpress stuff

Well I've bought a couple of lian li cases and a 3 kit for the SL infinity, none of my stock fans on the lancool 216 or the 3 infinity have any click, idk if it was a common problem on the lancool 2 mesh but this is the first time I'm hearing about it.

I have installed 140 mm infinity fans on my Lancool 3 and the Galahad 2 LCD 360 AIO infinity model on the top of my case. I want to know if anyone else here has a terrible oscillation sound with Infinity fans on a Lancool 3? At certain rpms they make a woo woo noise. Great video and thanks for listening to my recommendation! So is this officially your best RGB fan you’ve ever tested?
@ICmikeyP2 жыл бұрын
This review should be taken with a grain of salt. Other testing shows them behind a bunch of other fans in benchmarks, and the unifan lineup has a range of QC issues. Also no idea how long you've spent in L-connect but it's certainly not anywhere near amazing. It's notorious for being a resource hog and rarely working for a ton of people. If you check out r/lianli everyday the front page is plagued with people having bearing/led issues with unifans, and complaints of L-connect being some of the worse software.
@4Leka2 жыл бұрын
To be fair the chart shows the Infinity fans are only amazing between 43-50 dB. That's loud af. Below 40 dB the gap to SW4 and A12x25 is huge.
@STSYT2 жыл бұрын
QC issues are a problem in general. When doing a review, we try to take the product as it’s on the table, be it bought or provided. Though this is the fairest method we can do, it doesn't take into account that we may got a golden sample. For the L-connect thing, been running it for about a month. No complaints from my side until now. Once we’ll get the v2’s I’ll make sure to check if it’s still the case
@ICmikeyP2 жыл бұрын
@@STSYT Just want to say I do appreciate your reviews and always check them out. I'm waiting to see if the QC issues are improved on the v2 lineup myself. I just think people should be aware that there's a good chance 6+ months down the line they may have to RMA a fan or two. It seems to be really common. People should also note that Lian Li has apparently changed the LED issue in their warranty which is not good for anyone. They're now claiming the LED issue is normal if colors change overtime and will try to deny an exchange. So it seems rather than addressing the issue, they're instead changing the extent of the warranty in which a fan can be exchanged (LED issues is the #1 reason for their RMA's on unifans with bearing issues coming next). With L-connect is just seems to be hit or miss for a lot of people and they have to jump through all kinds of hoops to try and make it functional. Still seems to be a resource hog for everybody though. Would be nice if these fans weren't proprietary.
@STSYT2 жыл бұрын
@@ICmikeyP All good, and thanks, means a lot :) But good to know about the warranty changes. Doesn’t sound like the right at all. Changing that kind of stuff after first RMA’s appears very fishy to say the least. I’ll also make sure to have a closer look at what and what is not included for V2. Whether they break easily we’ll see no matter what. We’re repurposing our stuff quite often for builds and whatnot. Sometimes a few weeks, other times after months. After the fact, we’re taking it apart again + we’re not very gentle for the last part. Perfect to see if bearings, cables, frames,… break down after a while.

@@STSYT That's what I like to here. For people such as myself just looking for a good fan with subtle rgb, the choice seems to be between fans like the Light Wings and the SL's/SL V2.

I just don't understand the Noise-Permance graph. How come the lower the temperature the higher the noise ? That doesn't seem to make any sense
@STSYT Жыл бұрын
The left bottom side is where you want to be. Coolest and quietest. The further right you go the louder you are (usually also cooler) and the more up you go the hotter it is. I could also reverse the graph to have the “coolest” point at the top, but it wouldn’t really change anything

Interesting. These ended up shit tier in most tests and are among the worst performing fans. How come your review is so glowingly positive? In my experience (I owned them), they're hardly better than Corsair's QL 120 (which perform shitty but are pretty) plus the Lian Lis are loud as a jet engine. How did you test them? Please don't take this the wrong way. I merely want to find some great performing 120mm fans that don't look like Gollum's asshole and since your praise of these fans contradicts my personal experience with these, I would love to see what I'm missing.
