As a bit more seasoned PC builder, I also find this video very useful. For a different reason: I can refer beginners to this, because I know Paul does a great job at explaining the basics of understanding PC components and assembling them into a built PC. It can help them build some confidence in doing the job themselves. While I don't assemble many PCs myself, I like staying up-to-date and giving PC build advices even to complete strangers. There are other channels that are well suited for beginners (e.g. last time I checked LTT, it aimed at fairly casual audience), but I still think Paul did an exceptionally good job at conveying the basics in a video that is still fairly short (even some meme compilations, clickbait and other attention hijacking junk can run much longer).

So far, this is possibly the best explanation I've come across for what each of the 'basic' parts does and how they work together. You use easy to understand language that even laymen can understand and now I have a better understanding of what each part of the computer does beyond 'The RAM makes applications work faster' and 'The CPU does things and is important'. Thanks very much!

I will finally this year, I swear, replace my computer from 2010. This video is such a helpful reference for first-time builders like me. Some information I knew, but a lot I didn't, and it's all in one place, so I'm sure I'll be peeking at it again and again. I am really looking forward to the rest of this series.

Thank you so much Paul. As someone who was tech illiterate especially in PC hardware and building, this video is super helpful and well presented in a way truly doe beginners (ive seen others and they used too mucy jargon and overcomplicate). Cant wait to build my gaming pc soon because of you 🤝

I like how every so often I see a video of yours, and it's a "How to build" series. Technically, you only need one every decade or two, but someone like myself would prefer a recent video over one 3 years old. Especially since a novice wouldn't know PC building has been (relatively) the same from the very beginning. But what would I know, I'm just a novice enthusiast myself.

Paul 6 years ago you helped me build my first ever computer from what I saved up from my last ever retail job. 6 years, 3 degrees, and my first real paycheck later, you're helping me all over again. Thank you so much for keeping the lights on all these years.

While I am absolutely not the target audience for this I can still appreciate this. Easier to send less knowledgeable friends this link than try and explain it all myself. Also love this video. Really great for beginners or intermediates. Keep up the good work. Pretty certain that the original series is what got me through my first PC build during covid. So super happy there's an update.

Yesssss!!!! Exactly what i needed this year this series is perfect ohh my gosh! Got a 7900xt at 700$ so i feel good building new but i need to know if i want am4 still or if i rehab my old system and build a fresh am5 system since i have the money. I also feel WAY better about upping to official windows 11 once and for all and getting my higher end pc rig ready for the next 5 years of my gaming journey cause the last 5 years on my 1080 have been insane as i watch rt and dlss from the background

Excited to see the next few parts. As someone building their first build ever soon, I'm interested to see footage of the process of installing parts, plugging them in to the mobo, PSU, etc. That's the stuff that has me uncomfortable doing correctly.

Thank you so much for this. I’m completely ignorant about PC hardware and it’s function. I’ve finally decided to build my PC and I know what parts I need but nothing about their purpose and the specs I should look for to meet my usage needs.

tysm for explaining the basics of each part. I had to write an essay on pc hardware but I'm not that interested in it so I didn't know what all the acronyms meant and which specs were the most important so thanks, you just saved my grade
