WOW...that took 8mos from seed to harvest? That's a long time! I remember growing Habanadas a few yrs back (Habaneros with no heat), and it only took about 5-6months from planting to harvest. I guess when you top pruned your peppers, it took extra time for them to recover. But seeing how those plants produced, it was certainly worth the wait! 👍🏾👍🏾

Hello, yes these took a while to grow. You are correct, top pruning delays the fruit production. Also, we had unusually cold August here and not only they stopped growing for a while, but they also dropped some flowers. Fortunately we had warm September so they "made it" 🥳 The Habanadas look great, I will want to grow some too! This year my first successful year growing Habaneros (orange) here in Bulgaria. Followed the exact same route. Early seeding indoor in small trays on a heat mat and under grow lights, once they had two sets of true leaves uppotted them into 7cm containers. Then in the month May hardening off, uppotted them into 1 gallon growbags and now in September ripe fruits (quite a few per plant). They are hot, very hot, but the flavour is superb. Very citrus like. Of course saved a bunch of seeds, as both seeds as well as fruits are hard to find here and when to be found quite expensive. 75 eurocent per pepper is not little in my opinion.

They are always out, jalapeño serrano, poblano, and poblano peppers and apparently there was a recall on it for some kind of bacteria that gives you an illness and I’m like that indicates they are poisoning our food and we are on about year 4 1/2 now of this food shortage nonsense, where we have very limited items in stock and that’s where I am saying forget these grocery stores being greedy. How often do you water them? With mine, I noticed one particular plant had most of its leaves fall off on one of the branches along with flowers falling. The other half is barely surviving. Also, 2 of my other plants with the same pot mix and watering frequency are healthy and doing ok. (I water them once every evening)
@Liap7 ай бұрын
Hello. The watering frequency increases as they grow. Especially once they start putting on fruit. When plants are packed with fruit, they may require daily watering on clear sky days. What is the temperature? As much as they thrive in warm weather, if it's too hot, they will do exactly what You've just described.

Hi, Brilliant video, do you always have to cut the tops off to bush them out and get a big crop of Peppers? as on some videos that i have watched they still grow a big crop whether you cut the tops off or not, and seeing as you are successful at growing Peppers i thought i would ask, that's if you don't mind. I'm new to growing Peppers Bell and Hot and watching this video and you mentioning growing in sunshine as well, where i live we don't get much sunshine to get the heat unless we have a few weeks of freaky sun, so would growing in a Polycarbonate Greenhouse with the odd bit of sunshine generate enough heat to grow these ones and any other Peppers. Thanks and Take Care, Barry (UK)
@Liap10 ай бұрын
Hello! You absolutely do not have to cut the tops off to bush them out. I started these in late January, which is pretty early so I knew they will have enough time to grow big enough and produce ripe fruit. According to the weather conditions You've described, I probably wouldn't touch them, except pruning side shoots. The thing with cutting the tops off is that if You have long enough season, they will produce bigger harvest, but it will take longer. When it comes to Bell peppers, I don't find it reasonably different to cut the tops off. I just remove first flower if it appears too early (when plants are still small). I think it will have success growing them in greenhouse. Thank You very much ☺ Take Care, sending greetings from Slovakia 🍀

We put seeds for 12H into warm spring natural water with aqua pump with a pinch of sapropel . 2 CELLS ARE NO GOOD - we transfer as soon as they pop to 0,5L single cups - no root damage as here and grow much better not fighting with each other for light (at day 51 - 2:10 that is a 2 week plants 2. Hello and thank You for Your feedback. You are right, I live in climate where I have to start hot pepper varieties very early in the year (started these in late January) and grow them on windowsill. Which means much slower growth rate with little sunlight they get. Yes, cells are not the best option, when peppers got rootbound it takes them quite long to get back to growing after planting, but as I've already mentioned, they were grown on windowsill along with other plants (herbs etc.), so they are all kind of fighting for space, if I transplanted them right into single pots, I wouldn't have enough space for other plants on windowsill. Could be much better harvest, but we had terribly cold week in August last year, not only they stopped growing for that week, they also dropped some flowers. Thank You for Your feedback, it's great to hear from someone more experienced in growing hot peppers! ☺🍀 Thank You! All the best and good luck to You too!

Now I have yellow fatalia (citrus fruits), a lot of fruits, sometimes I water sodium phosphorus potassium, a liquid solution. Also, after 6 months, the leaves begin to fall off, but also in the window for 3 hours in the sun, only in the morning. Now I have got some plants from a online shop (3x Vicentes Sweet Habanero, Ata Big Habanero, Sugar Rush Stripey, Sweet Chocolate, Shishito, Scarlett Varigated, Naga Twister Multicolor(black), and one Peperoni that my girlfriend got from a local store nearby. 2 Jalapeno seedlings and 2 Haba(nadas?) seedlings lol (cheap supermarket chili mix) All other plants got sick, not growing or I just get rid of them today. The Sweet Chocolate goes outside if the weather gets better here (Germany - NRW) the Scarlett and Shishito will be my new indoor desktop friends. I'm now focusing on get at least one fruit for seeds and tasting test and then keep them happy/alive hahaha. Have a great day ^^

@@ClaudioArcono I get my spruce shavings from local carpenter. You can also use straw instead of wood shavings, it works just as fine.

I so wanted some habaneros this year. Tried 2 different packets of seed, each in 2 different pots on different windowsills back in February and not a single seed germinated ☹
@Liap6 ай бұрын
Have You tried soaking the seeds for a day before planting? It can help rise germination rate, especially if the seeds are old. Also, try covering the pot with plastic wrap. It will keep the moisture inside and You won’t have to water it. Seeds like constant moisture.

It took you very long time to see these cotyledons. Using heatmat probably cut this time by half.
@Liap8 ай бұрын
Yes it definitely would. But I didn't have enough light for them (windowsill) in their seedling stage and using heatmat would make them leggy. This way they were growing slowly, but not leggy 🙂

Why wouldn't you just germinate them individually into the containers that you transferred them to? Why go through that unnecessary transfer process which seems like it's creating a potential failure point having to untangle roots and uproot the actual seedling and put it back in more dirt it just felt like a completely unnecessary step and full of unnecessary risk.
@dredope906 ай бұрын
Once you become a pro and have a feel you will succeed in every harvest but like any grow one or 2 won’t make it but 98% of the time the rest will
@trappenweisseguy276 ай бұрын

Everytime you repot them they stress and make stronger roots.
@battletommy89185 ай бұрын
By germinating multiple Seeds in one pot he can pick out the strongest seedlings and doesn't waste space for weaker seedlings in an individual container. Also he can pick from more Seedlings, which he wants to keep.
@Liap5 ай бұрын
Plants are much stronger than they look. The "unnecessary transfer process" is not creating any potential failure point if done right. Even if You do it bluntly and break a root or two, they will recover. Plants want to live and they will do everything to do so. You can plant the seeds directly in containers, there is no problem about that. But I start most of my plants ahead of the growing season. When it comes to Habanero peppers, I don't grow them in their country of origin, so I start seeds during winter when it's freezing cold outside and by this way I can start plenty of them in small space, transplant them and still move them around while nights are too cold for them. If I'd start them when the temperatures are warm enough for them, they wouldn't ripe until the season is over where I live.

Merhaba.
