WOW...that took 8mos from seed to harvest? That's a long time! I remember growing Habanadas a few yrs back (Habaneros with no heat), and it only took about 5-6months from planting to harvest. I guess when you top pruned your peppers, it took extra time for them to recover. But seeing how those plants produced, it was certainly worth the wait! 👍🏾👍🏾

Hello, yes these took a while to grow. You are correct, top pruning delays the fruit production. Also, we had unusually cold August here and not only they stopped growing for a while, but they also dropped some flowers. Fortunately we had warm September so they "made it" 🥳 The Habanadas look great, I will want to grow some too! Thank You very much for taking time to leave such a kind comment ☺ Greetings from Slovakia!

Hi, Brilliant video, do you always have to cut the tops off to bush them out and get a big crop of Peppers? as on some videos that i have watched they still grow a big crop whether you cut the tops off or not, and seeing as you are successful at growing Peppers i thought i would ask, that's if you don't mind. I'm new to growing Peppers Bell and Hot and watching this video and you mentioning growing in sunshine as well, where i live we don't get much sunshine to get the heat unless we have a few weeks of freaky sun, so would growing in a Polycarbonate Greenhouse with the odd bit of sunshine generate enough heat to grow these ones and any other Peppers. Thanks and Take Care, Barry (UK)
@Liap5 ай бұрын
Hello! You absolutely do not have to cut the tops off to bush them out. I started these in late January, which is pretty early so I knew they will have enough time to grow big enough and produce ripe fruit. According to the weather conditions You've described, I probably wouldn't touch them, except pruning side shoots. The thing with cutting the tops off is that if You have long enough season, they will produce bigger harvest, but it will take longer. When it comes to Bell peppers, I don't find it reasonably different to cut the tops off. I just remove first flower if it appears too early (when plants are still small). I think it will have success growing them in greenhouse. Thank You very much ☺ Take Care, sending greetings from Slovakia 🍀

How often do you water them? With mine, I noticed one particular plant had most of its leaves fall off on one of the branches along with flowers falling. The other half is barely surviving. Also, 2 of my other plants with the same pot mix and watering frequency are healthy and doing ok. (I water them once every evening)
@LiapАй бұрын
Hello. The watering frequency increases as they grow. Especially once they start putting on fruit. When plants are packed with fruit, they may require daily watering on clear sky days. What is the temperature? As much as they thrive in warm weather, if it's too hot, they will do exactly what You've just described.

Great video, thank you, like but in general what you have here is called being behind the plant)) 3 weeks or so. From my 10 years exp with nagas, scorps&habaneros - 1. We put seeds for 12H into warm spring natural water with aqua pump with a pinch of sapropel . 2 CELLS ARE NO GOOD - we transfer as soon as they pop to 0,5L single cups - no root damage as here and grow much better not fighting with each other for light (at day 51 - 2:10 that is a 2 week plants 2. Way way too late transfer to the main bucket 3. Yes pruning does wonders - we do that to most of our plants. Great results but could have x2 kg and much sooner. All the best, good luck.

Hello and thank You for Your feedback. You are right, I live in climate where I have to start hot pepper varieties very early in the year (started these in late January) and grow them on windowsill. Which means much slower growth rate with little sunlight they get. Yes, cells are not the best option, when peppers got rootbound it takes them quite long to get back to growing after planting, but as I've already mentioned, they were grown on windowsill along with other plants (herbs etc.), so they are all kind of fighting for space, if I transplanted them right into single pots, I wouldn't have enough space for other plants on windowsill. Could be much better harvest, but we had terribly cold week in August last year, not only they stopped growing for that week, they also dropped some flowers. Thank You for Your feedback, it's great to hear from someone more experienced in growing hot peppers! ☺🍀 Thank You! All the best and good luck to You too!

There was Jamaican hot chocolate. He pollinated with his hands, then the leaves began to fall. After ~5 months, I collected the fruits.The chocolate pepper also had fruit which was also delicious. but the first one is very bald. Now I have yellow fatalia (citrus fruits), a lot of fruits, sometimes I water sodium phosphorus potassium, a liquid solution. Also, after 6 months, the leaves begin to fall off, but also in the window for 3 hours in the sun, only in the morning. Why wouldn't you just germinate them individually into the containers that you transferred them to? Why go through that unnecessary transfer process which seems like it's creating a potential failure point having to untangle roots and uproot the actual seedling and put it back in more dirt it just felt like a completely unnecessary step and full of unnecessary risk.

By germinating multiple Seeds in one pot he can pick out the strongest seedlings and doesn't waste space for weaker seedlings in an individual container. Also he can pick from more Seedlings, which he wants to keep.
@Liap5 күн бұрын
Plants are much stronger than they look. The "unnecessary transfer process" is not creating any potential failure point if done right. Even if You do it bluntly and break a root or two, they will recover. Plants want to live and they will do everything to do so. You can plant the seeds directly in containers, there is no problem about that. But I start most of my plants ahead of the growing season. When it comes to Habanero peppers, I don't grow them in their country of origin, so I start seeds during winter when it's freezing cold outside and by this way I can start plenty of them in small space, transplant them and still move them around while nights are too cold for them. If I'd start them when the temperatures are warm enough for them, they wouldn't ripe until the season is over where I live.

this video is a joke: you don't explain how to keep temperature constant, to not compresso the soil too much, how much water and when/often, how much light and when (once there are leaves), how to avoid water stagnation (peppers hate it)...you surely used a grow-box with thermostate and artifificial lights to begin with.
@Liap20 күн бұрын
Hello. I don't like to overdo videos with text. If You want to know more details, I am trying my best to be present in the comment section and response. I don't explain how to keep temperature constant, because it will differ from zone to zone. In some areas these can be grown all year round, in others, they can't (outdoors). The soil compression is important if You don't want to end up having growbags half-empty after the soil settles. The water requirements depend on so many factors and I would not like to give some general advice on it, as it will differ based on growing conditions, size of plants and their growing stage. The best advice on watering would be - check the soil and You will easily know if it requires watering or not. How much light? It's peppers - as much as they can get. When? I mean, can You control the sun? How to avoid water stagnation? Well, use cells with holes (I think every seedling trays have them) I didn't use grow-box, thermostate or artificial lights. I started these in winter. During the day they were in greenhouse and during the night, indoors. I am not a professional gardener nor do I live in the habanero peppers country of origin, so they can be grown differently elsewhere with better success for sure. I just grow plants and make videos about their growth cycle. In the case anyone would be interested. I hope I responded to all Your points. If there is anything else You would be interested in, feel free to use this comment section, I'll be more than happy to respond.

È un lavoro inutile e potrebbe danneggiare i piantini, poteva seminare direttamente nei vasetti
