It’s only a felony if whatever was damaged is worth more than a certain amount of money, some places it’s like $500, some it’s $1,000 And if something was broken that isn’t really worth anything like just ripping up papers, breaking a cup, something like that you are charged with just “criminal mischief” which is a misdemeanor no matter what.

And maybe whatever state they are in the charge is called “criminal damage to property” if the mount of $ it is makes it a felony and called “criminal mischief” if it’s a misdemeanor bc it was worth less than that. not always. depends on the $ value damaged and the severity of injury inflicted. property damage below a threshold is a misdemeanor. battery or intentional infliction of injury def can be a felony. DUUH!

Idk how people can punch people in the face and it be a misdemeanor, yet possession of any amount of marijuana is still a felony in some states. Possession of any drug for personal use should only be a misdemeanor. Your right it’s ridiculous how they decide these things. Like I also think a dui should always be a felony, how tf is a dui a misdemeanor, yet leaving the scene of an accident is a felony. Make it make sense people.

I love that the Women's Resource Center has been helping him address all this. They may have begun with the intention of protecting women from domestic violence, but by now they recognize that *people* are victims of domestic violence -- people of any and all genders. So they help whoever is in need of their help and they don't quibble about what's in their name.

I’ve had three collapsed lungs, in under 10 months. This guy was amazing for helping the young man. If it’s not caught fast enough it will completely collapse and start to fill up with fluid. I was in the ICU the first time it happened. After the third collapse I had a partial lobectomy, losing part of my lung.

It depends on how much damage. Doing a small amount of damage might be a misdemeanor. Causing permanent injury might be a felony. Also, if the person causing the damage is a trespasser in a building at the time, it might be burglary which is a felony.

I do feel like we don't do enough for people who are trying to do. Right, but it's almost impossible. There are many places that you cannot live without a Driver's license. Because otherwise you will be stranded. Even unable to work, and once you get in that reciprocating Circumstance it's really hard to get out of it. I do have a lot of empathy and compassion for people who aren't trying to buck the system, The system is just too much for them to get past

If he has proof that he was trying to get another person to hospital as an emergency and no-one else was there, then he probably saved this persons life. That probably comes under the Good Samaritan act but I am not sure about that. Anyway glad his testimony was listened to and the judge helped him.
