You don't know the real story. The U.S. bombings wrecked havoc where people could not plant rice and created 2 million Khmer refugees. Those refugees made their way to the Phnom Penh and of course food supplies were running low. The Khmer Rouge also cut off supply lines like roads which foods like rice and other produce couldn't get to the city. What good weapons and armored vehicles do when you there were no ammunitions? That was what exactly happened to the Khmer Republic armed forces by January of 1975. The U.S. had stopped giving aid to the Lon Nol regime since 1973. The Lon Nol armed forces ran out of ammunitions and could barely defend Phnom Penh and Preah Vihear. Those were the last two areas that the Lon Nol forces could barely defending.

Poorly trained. Poorly led. Poor guys ended up in khmer rouge killing fields. Who were the Cambodians that were able to repel the US Marines at kho tang island during Mayaguez ?

Those Cambodians that were on Koh Tang Island were Khmer Rouge regulars

They are untrained, young, scare of war they are recruited by the corrupted lon nol government and thrown into battle only to be surrender or flee when the enemy charge toward them, those who capture were torture and kill

Why they lost the war. Because Sihanouk stood behind of Khmer Rouge and the head of leader created by Youn and China. Khmer Rouge hat a bad weapons and the Lon Nol Soldiers had overhand.

They are all government troops in the video. But Khmer Rouge used any weapons they could capture.

No. Khmer Rouge were supplied with weapons from China. Over one billion dollars worth, including tanks, RPG s and AK 47 s. Plus some Chinese made semi automatic models, I can't remember which ones.

The weapons Lon Nol soldiers are using are USA , at least the tanks.

@@ActiveAussie2024 We had never see Tanks T-54 from China at all in Cambodia. They used only the captured weapons from Lon Nol soldiers who loved Sihanouk as Samdech OV.

Don't forget all the troubles you Vietnamese created starting from the your 1st War of Indochina! Your Vietnamese both the North and VC supported and trained the Khmer Rouge! If your Vietnamese didn't create the mess the U.S. wouldn't have gotten involved and no bombings boosted the Khmer Rouge either!
